I dont give many reviews but this place is so expensive and the food is so bad. I have traveled to 60+ nations and I am confident that I just experienced one of the worst meals Ive ever had. I ordered the Steak Picado and it wasnt edible. Even the rice and beans were bad. No flavor at all. I'm wondering if my meal was simply heated up after being prepared months ago. Have eaten here before and it has always been good. After tonight, we will never be back! Arrive for dinner just after 6pm and ordered quickly for 2 adults and 2 children. Enjoyed our family time chatting and then realized it had been quite some time since we had ordered and no food. No one came to check on us as we sat at a table opposite the kitchen with no food, empty chips and salsa and no water. 50 minutes after we ordered the waitress finally came to check on us and we asked for more water and asked when our food would be out. She said they just got really busy but it would be right out. At this point the kids are super hungry and getting grouchy. Then food comes out....to tables that came in 30 minutes after us! We decided at that time to leave and get dinner elsewhere. As we start walking the waitress comes up and asks where we are going. We tell her we are leaving because it has been an hour and we don't have food. She says "that's fine" and walks away. We get out to the car and the manager comes out to us and says he "understands there has been an issue" and "if we come back inside the food is ready and they will give us a discount." My husband says we aren't interested in coming back in, we have hungry and tired kids and need to go. The manager agains offers a discount to come back in and my husband says no thanks, but if the food is ready we will take it to go. The manager says give him a minute and goes back inside. 10 minutes later the waitress comes back out with our food that was supposedly ready when we walked out 15 minutes ago. We get home and....the food consists of 1 dish that we didn't order and chips and salsa. UNBELIEVABLE! Never once did they apologize or admit they hadn't put our order in. If you like waiting, with awful customer service and getting food you didn't orde from people who don't care...head here now! read more

Ok, I held off on writing anything the first few times I've been here. As a worker in this industry I feel I have the right to let you all know that this place is trash. The price is too much for the quality of this food, to the service. I had a server named Saul that auto-grated my table of 4.... I'll say that again in case you weren't paying attention. Our server Saul, auto-grated A TABLE OF 4!! So I confronted him about it. Asked to see the manager so that he/she could explain something to me I didn't understand. His response was "oh there's no manager here today, but I can remove that gratuity!" Then I asked why it's even in there in the first place? His response? it was because of what I ordered (I ordered a plate of tacos btw) Bro. I live in this town. Every business has a manager on duty. Look, I get it. Mexican family roles in, you automatically think I'm not going to tip you (country difference in table service). It has been a couple of years since we were here and boy, have things gone down hill! Service was slow, and not very friendly or competent. Our table was dirty, sticky when we were seated. We had to ask to have it wiped off, then it took over 5 minutes to get our drinks ordered even though it was a very slow afternoon, not more than 3 other tables. Last night, I was stuck in the parking lot near this restaurant, so we decided to try this restaurant. I know it's been in this location for a long time, so how mead could it be? BAD. Vile. I can't even describe how it felt to gag while eating an enchilada. My kids grilled cheese wasn't cooked and limp, soggy fries accompanied it. My husbands taco meat looked like something from school cafeteria nightmares. And..,they brought him the wrong meal, came back and took it away--after he touched it. Great ambience, good staff, big portions. Waters took a while to get refilled and the food, although a lot, was pretty salty, esp their stews. But the rice and beans helped level things off. My wife and I are Mexican food fanatics and we rarely find a restaurant we love. This place is a true gem. I had the macha burrito and my wife had the arroz con pollo, which are two of our favorites. Neither one of us felt that we had had the meal ever made better. The macha meat was tender roast meat, instead of the normal stringy, tough type. My wife was only able to finish about 40% and me 60% due to the size, so we got two nights worth. The margaritas (lime and a cadillac) were very tasty and ample. The chips were not oily and the salsa was excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. The prices were very reasonable for the typically over-priced Vail area. I was half way through the meal when i spotted a longer black curly hair in my food... I don't really like foreign objects in my food. I was not really going to complain about this but when I pointed it out to my server he looked at me disgusted and said... sorry all of our cooks are bald. Walked away and that was it.... Ok whatever... But then I looked over in the kitchen and was PISSED... EXCUSE ME? What the hell are you talking about... I can see in your kitchen and there is a cook with a hat on and a ponytail.... long black curly hair. He not only did not take it off the bill or even say sorry or anything for that matter. Fiesta Jalisco was a pretty middle of the road Mexican restaurant. Our group went there on a Saturday night in the middle of ski season...you would think the place would be jammed back but it was completely empty. The food was decently good but I wouldn't say it was AMAZING. The best thing on the menu were their house margaritas and probably their weird cole slaw salsa. My roommate ordered queso and it was straight velveta. You would think a mexican restaurant would be cheap but the prices were OUTRAGEOUS! The queso alone was $7.... Fiesta Jalisco "A Real Mexican Ripoff" This place was close to our hotel and the 4 of us were starving for a large meal so we thought Mexican would be the right choice. Don't get me wrong--the food was fine (minus a few mistakes in the order). My tamales were okay and a bit pricey for just 2 of them, but that's not why I think this place has some improving to do. First of all, the prices of Margaritas by the pitcher are listed NOWHERE in their entire novel of a menu. And further, the server really struggled to explain our options for margs. He mentioned something about a cheap pitcher (made of pre-made mix) and one with fresh lime juice. He also mentioned that there are a number of tequilas we could have but was very vague about the price. We asked for a mid-grade tequila with fresh lime juice expecting that they'd be about $30-40 a piece. 3 pitchers later, he brings out the bill for $230!!!! The server then sheepishly explains that the Patron (a better quality tequila) would have actually been cheaper at $42 a pitcher. "And you're telling us this now, because....?" It was awkward trying to get an answer out of him so we just cut our losses and paid the bill. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food; I eat it because my wife loves it. But what I ordered today was amazing: the Quesadilla Grilled Cancun! It consisted of two large tortillas filled with shrimp, spinach, onions, red bell peppers, cottage cheese, mushrooms and jack and cheddar cheese, topped with tomatoes, green onions, sour cream and guacamole. Having grown up going to the disaster that is Mexican food in Vail, Los Amigos, Jalisco is a welcome change...because the food is actually good, it may actually be Mexican, and it's nice knowing that the best thing on the menu isn't going to be the chicken fingers. Large menu, staying mostly well within the traditional realm of arroz con pollo, tacos, fajitas, etc. I don't eat much meat and I've always found plenty to dine on--the vegetarian fajitas are actually quite nice--and the spicy cabbage slaw that comes with the chips and salsa is delicious. Margs are well sized. Overall, it's infinitely better than Los, and well worth the 15 minute drive out of town. And, extra bonus, you can stop at the nation's highest grossing Wal-Mart on your way home. Win win event if you ask me. read more

Located in a strip mall in Avon. Came here exhausted for an early dinner after a day of skiing. Service was very prompt, but the quality of the food was a little lacking for someone used to good Tex-Mex. I had a half portion of the sopa de rancho (tortilla soup). They were kind to split it, but even the half portion was huge. Not the usual tortilla soup--chicken stock base with large shreds of chicken, a few avocado chunks, and large triangles of heavy deep fried tortillas. Interesting, but not quite what I expected. I also had the burrito loco azado--strip steak burrito buried in some kind of red sauce that didn't taste like much. The meat was good, but they'd rolled it so all the rice and beans were on one side. I had to add jalapeños and hot sauce to add flavor. Very underwhelming. My dinner partner ordered steak fajitas, which he gets all the time in Houston. He was also disappointed by the small strips of meat that came out on his platter. As Texans, our first meal upon arriving in the Beaver Creek area is -- Mexican food. Jalisco doesn't have that much of an atmosphere, but the food's decent. The burritos got high marks, beef fajitas were serviceable (nothing more). The arroz con pollo special was not what I expected, but still good due in part to some unexpected spiciness. I would have given this place 4 stars since I liked the food and the drink selections were divine (36 ounce margaritas) but the food made me ill so 3 stars for them. Service was inconsistent. Our last night at Beaver Creek, we wanted to celebrate our ski trip and Fiesta Jalisco was the place to do it! We were seated right away and ordered margaritas and cheese dip. The cheese dip was interesting as it wasn't your regular white runny cheese...but it was still good! The menu is at least 6 pages long, filled with lot of options, you are sure to find something you will enjoy. We ordered chicken faijitas for 2 and honestly we should have just done a regular order as the 2 would have fed 4.
