It started off a little meh for me as there is only street parking and as I am disabled, the walk was a little hard for me. BUT the service totally made the walk worthwhile. I did pay extra for the eye X-ray thingie but that was so much better than getting my eyes dilated. I'm diabetic as well and I have to get my eyes checked yearly to ensure that my eyes are ok. This was a much easier exam than getting the dilation. Much easier and much safer for me. Then I got taken to the back and the optometrist was great as well. She recommended some things and talked with me about some other issues as well. She also told me that the pores on my eye lids were getting gunky and to start doing warm eye compresses at night and it has been helping. Then the nicest very helpful lady... I wished I had gotten her name... Helped me to find new glasses. She was so helpful in bringing glasses to me and looking up colors for me and just being overall extremely helpful. Normally I'm used to being told, go and look and see what glasses you like... Instead here, she assisted me with everything which was very much appreciated. Overall, the parking sucked but I guess that's LA.... Lol BUT the service was amazing and I think I might've finally found my permanent optometrist!!

Full disclose, this review is regarding my experience only ordering glasses, no optometrist visit…read more TLDR: I got what I needed, but will keep looking for a different place for my family's needs. My toddler daughter needed glasses and we already had a prescription from her pediatric Ophthalmologist. I was searching for a place closer to home that carried toddler frames, because the recommendations from her pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Dohney eye institute in Pasadena were all in SGV. I called New Vision specifically asking about frames for my 20-month old and after being satisfied with their answers, made an appointment. However, their selection was disappointing and they didn't have the strap-on toddler frames, as I was told on the phone. I went with the only viable option reluctantly because I wanted to get the glasses and didn't want to waste more time. I gave them the prescription (in paper form) and they had trouble with their scanner so told me they'd give it back to me when we picked up the glasses. I asked if my daughter needed to be present, and they said yes. When glasses were ready, they texted me at 3:48 Friday asking me to make an appointment, and said they were closing at 4:15 and reopened on Monday. Had I been notified even a couple hours earlier, I could have rearranged my schedule instead of waiting until Monday. So that was disappointing. Finally when picking them up, my daughter tried them on but they didn't really do anything else so not sure why my daughter needed to be present or why I needed to make an appointment. And they also didn't have the paper prescription that I had been promised. The person giving me the glasses made zero effort and just told me how easy it is to request it again from the ophthalmologist office. I obviously know this. This just underscored to me that things aren't communicated properly about patient requests.

On December 30th, the busiest day of the year, the location experienced an unprecedented level of congestion. I endured a wait time of approximately 30 minutes for an associate to assist me. Typically, the wait time has been between 5 and 15 minutes. Additionally, the store staff will inform customers in advance if the wait time exceeds the usual duration. Last year, I made a regrettable decision when selecting eyeglasses. My intention was to purchase the lenses and utilize the eyeglasses I had previously owned for couple years ago. This time, I explained the advantages and disadvantages of my previous purchase to Amanda. She listened attentively and provided candid feedback. Notably, the visual insurance plan I am enrolled in is not affiliated with LensCrafters (VSP). Consequently, any available discounts are highly appreciated. Amanda meticulously calculated the costs of two (2) options: purchasing only the lenses or opting for new eyeglasses. Ultimately, the most cost-effective choice was to purchase new eyeglasses, which was significantly less expensive than the previous quote provided by another associate a few weeks ago. I express my sincere gratitude to Amanda for her willingness to offer me all the potential discounts. The total cost of the gift was $337.00, making it an exceptional New Year's present.

Appt on Saturday, Sept 13 @ 2 pm. Approached front door and you have press button. Employee answers "How can I help you?" I informed her I have an appt.. Buzzed in and signed in. Filled out the paperwork and waited. Place filled with people waiting. Waited for 15 minutes and staff called me. She said to me sit here for a test. Never explaining anything just rest your chin here. Finished and thought I would be placed in a room. Nope. Told wait in the lobby. Waited for 30 minutes and asked staff how much longer approx 2 hrs because a patient in AM took doctor's time that put him behind. I rescheduled. Returned Monday, Sept 22 @ 5 pm. Arrived and again needing to be buzzed in. Lobby only a couple people. Name called & followed the employee again with this sit here, chin here. Umm I did this already last visit. I am here just for the doctor. Told that I had to redo this test but again not told what the name of test. Went to lobby waited and shortly afterwards called into a room. I don't recall if doctor introduced himself. He had no professional coat & no name badge. Assuming he is the doctor and test proceeded. He took my old glasses and test them to see the prescription. After testing told I have cataract in right eye and you need surgery. Insurance covers it. Trying to process this news as he was documenting in the computer then he gets up and leaves the room. I am assuming to schedule me for surgery or get paperwork for the surgery. Nope. He left to attend another patient to give them an eye exam. Extremely rude leaving me waiting for 15 minutes then he returns with patient following him. She wanted discussed something to him then she realized I was in the room. Left to the front. He finished with me and he went to the front to give employee my chart. He tells the employee that these 2 patients need cataract surgery then leaves. Employee gives me couple papers tells me to call this doctor ask if they take my insurance then return to them to get glasses. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Employees are receptionist. They do check insurance for eye exam when booking appt but beyond that don't ask. Here is the paperwork & patient to figure it out. Then you need to buzzed out so once inside your locked in. As I was trying to leave tells me I have to pay co-payment. They charge at the end of the visit or stayed locked inside. I anticipated to be their for 15 or maybe 30 minutes at the most but was their for alittle over an hr being late returning to work. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Doctor is mediocre. Employee has lack of patient education. Lack of empathy from doctor and employees. Explained to me why employees at the front desk are wearing scrubs. Not understanding that part. I won't be returning. Do not recommend

Disappointing Experience and Overcharged…read more I visited Lori Eugenio's optometry practice for an eye exam and glasses and was charged almost $500. The frames were of poor quality, seemingly sourced cheaply from China. At the time, I didn't know what the going rate was, and since I knew her personally, I felt embarrassed to question the price. So, I paid the amount, trusting her and not expecting to be taken advantage of. Recently, I had an eye exam at another optometrist office (this exam was $85- no additional charges) and the doctor informed me that my eyes are fine for over-the-counter reading glasses, and I didn't need prescription lenses. Given that I have a +1.50 prescription, this made me realize I was likely overcharged for something I didn't need, which is deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this practice to anyone and advise others to be cautious when seeking services here.
