Walked in and was greeted by Uri. I think he is the owner of this place. It is a family owned business since 1994. They also fill in prescriptions. The reason for me being there was that I accidentally dropped my glasses and one of the lens came out, and one side of the frame broke. Uri, took a good look at it and said no worries, I will fix this right away and within like less than 15 minutes my lens were popped back in and the side of the frame that was broken was fixed. Even straighten my nose pads and cleaned both lenses. When I was there, there were only 3 other people looking at glasses. It's a standard size shop that sells various glasses by labels, designers, and generic type. They don't do no exams at this place, but do accept most vision insurances. Also, cash and credit cards are accepted. Uri, only charged me $20 dollars for both fixings including the nose pads. I took a good look at the store, and they had vast variety of glasses. Store was clean, with few parking spaces in the back, but I parked on the street. Thank you Uri, and Eyelab. Hopefully I will not drop my glasses any more. Accidents DO happen...

Arrived today (35 minute drive), found parking on a side street in a not great neighborhood and went in. Person neglected to greet another customer and me when we walked in while she was finishing up with her Customer. Asked me to resend the prescription because she could not find it from yesterday. Showed me two crummy frames and said they don't have a large selection in that size "at this time." Why didn't they tell me that yesterday? Why didn't she offered to let me see a slightly different size? Meanwhile, probably the optometrist, possibly the owner, didn't bother to come out and see what the problem was at all. I left, intending to buy frames elsewhere and have them fill the prescription. Warby Parker was actually less expensive with excellent customer service so I do not need to return to this shop. Small businesses are hurting and should be able to compete with Customer Service. This one certainly does not.

It started off a little meh for me as there is only street parking and as I am disabled, the walk was a little hard for me. BUT the service totally made the walk worthwhile. I did pay extra for the eye X-ray thingie but that was so much better than getting my eyes dilated. I'm diabetic as well and I have to get my eyes checked yearly to ensure that my eyes are ok. This was a much easier exam than getting the dilation. Much easier and much safer for me. Then I got taken to the back and the optometrist was great as well. She recommended some things and talked with me about some other issues as well. She also told me that the pores on my eye lids were getting gunky and to start doing warm eye compresses at night and it has been helping. Then the nicest very helpful lady... I wished I had gotten her name... Helped me to find new glasses. She was so helpful in bringing glasses to me and looking up colors for me and just being overall extremely helpful. Normally I'm used to being told, go and look and see what glasses you like... Instead here, she assisted me with everything which was very much appreciated. Overall, the parking sucked but I guess that's LA.... Lol BUT the service was amazing and I think I might've finally found my permanent optometrist!!

My experience was similar as last time. They are not transparent with the fees they charge you until after you swipe your credit card. I booked an appointment over the phone and was told that my eye exam is $30 along with a $75 contacts fitting fee. My insurance covers my eye exam, so I should only be charged $75. This additional retinal exam was not clarified over the phone. If this were to be clear, then I would have opted out because I have no need for this. I was overcharged. I called AND texted to make things right and they come up with excuses that I signed a form that I never did sign and that they did call me. Transparency is this office's biggest weakness. As a patient here, you're simply a paying customer who's only valued for your business versus your overall wellbeing.

They also had an iris dialator machine that doesn't dl our your eyes like traditional eye drops which insurance doesn't cover but they were very upfront about the additional $39 cost which I appreciated. The optician was very kind as well - first time I'd dealt with an optician really outside of talking to employees at Warby Parker. She showed me frames that were covered by my insurance and didn't try to upsell me on expensive frames and even had a frame in mind for me which is the one I ended up going with. When I later went to submit the rebate, I discovered it was only $250. I contacted the office to address the discrepancy and was very disappointed with how it was handled. I was told it was not their responsibility, and the receptionist was extremely rude, dismissive, and unwilling to acknowledge the mistake or even offer a simple apology. While I didn't expect them to undo the purchase, I did expect some level of accountability or customer care. I followed up with an email to express my concerns and was completely ignored. It's incredibly frustrating to be misinformed about something that directly impacts a costly decision, and even more frustrating to be treated so poorly when trying to resolve it.
