I was a customer for many years of the Los Feliz location of Paris Optique--run by brother Sevan until it closed. After that, I used other optometrists but was never entirely satisfied. So this year, I made the trek to Studio City where I met Haig and got the amazing service and care I was used to from Sevan! Far more valuable than the excellent selection of frames is the expert knowledge and advice provided by Haig. He recommended a different shaped frame which would work better with my prescription. And boy was he right! I have much better access to the reading portion of my progressive lens than before. If you're looking for a bargain--go elsewhere. But if you're interested in expert knowledge, excellent workmanship and terrific selection of frames this is the ONLY place to go. The value is unbeatable. read more

I haven't had a new frame in awhile, but for the first time ever, I went in to Oliver people's and didnt know anyone working there. If he feels like he's got something special that suits you, he'll open secret drawers and pull out special pieces for you to try. Ask him to show you his Marcello Mastriani collection. He has every model frame Marcello wore. Ask him to tell you about the Steve McQueen Persol 714's he bought at a bazaar while traveling in Egypt in 1982. Ask to see his fold up Porsche Carrera aviators. I tried on some incredible frames. The man goes deep. He's also extremely knowledgable about lenses, and is like a crazy lens perfectionist. I ended up getting these great Spanish frames with pristine Zeiss photochromic lenses, I couldn't be more stoked. Paris Optique is a boutique shop run by a craftsman and lens artist. I found Paris Optique on Yelp and realized I had passed this place a thousand times. I am so glad I walked in and met Haig. He is a true craftsman. He took his time and I could tell he authentically cared about helping me find the perfect glasses and fit. I wear my glasses everyday all day and I had already filled three glasses with my prescription but they were heavy and thick. I found the coolest frames and love them!! They are light and chic and he fit them perfectly. He has his workshop space in the back of his store and it felt like I had walked into a small shop in Italy where I lived years ago. Fantastic. So glad I found Paris Optique!! For years, I've been trying to re-find my favorite pair of glasses: old style Rayban Wayfarers in a 58 size, with clear prescription lenses. Although Rayban still makes the Wayfarers, the really big frames that I had (and wanted again) went out of production and they've been tough to track down. Finding any really big glasses in that style of the old Elvis Costello frames has proved to be very difficult. So I found the perfect frames at the mall, just some cheap $50 glasses but the exact right size & style -- only problem is, LensCrafters and other glasses outlets said putting lenses in would be "impossible." Paris Optique saw it differently. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Not only did they put in lenses (and did a wonderful job on it, too; part of the reason my request was difficult is my vision is bad and so the lenses need to be thicker than usual, so cutting and placing them is a tricky endeavor, I guess), but they also provided a full matte paint job for an extra $50, and removed the little branding/lettering on the inside of the frames in the process. Thanks to the guys at Paris Optique, these disposable mall glasses have become the exact specs I've been wanting for years. I'm very thankful that these guys are in business. I work and live in Culver City, but I'm glad I prioritized working with these guys -- worth the drive and worth every penny. They have earned a customer for life. read more

After months of searching for the perfect pair of glasses, I stumbled upon Paris Optique and I am now a customer for life. The owner, Haig is an absolute sweetheart who lives and breathes eyewear. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all things related to prescription lenses, and eyewear in general. He also does all of his own work right at his shop, as opposed to sending the glasses out to have the prescription lenses put in the frames, as some other places do. He can even take certain frames, as he did for me, and make them look matte, instead of the standard shiny plastic. Needless to say, I get compliments on my 'hand-matted' frames all the time! He has a great collection of frames and keeps a great stock of hard-to-find vintage items, which is why I can't help casually stopping in for fun just to see what new stuff he has and play dress-up with some funky vintage frames.
