Given the whole situation this month, I tried to order from a local restaurant that unfortunately ended up closing. Given that info, I decided to order from a well-known local restaurant (this one haha) just to help some cooks/servers/deliverers/etc. in my area. The food was kept in perfect warm temperature, the food was delicious, the man delivering my food was such a sweetheart, I highly recommend Feng Shui so much. Perhaps the worst Chinese food I've had in 20 years. Ordered for takeout today. Pupu for 3, fried rice, lo Mein, general gau for an 8pm pick up...arrived at 745 and all food but 1 item ready and waiting. Home at 8....all apps / pupu items were stone cold as was the gau chicken (which I tossed). guessing they cooked large batches of apps to be ready for the rush vs the usual small batch. Breading on gau was soggy and not crispy and chicken fingers had an odd taste. At least the lo-mein and chow main were decent. We are typically bamboo customers but wanted to try FS again, what a mistake. Trying to support a local business during this time and being served sub standard food is most unfortunate. read more

Love this Hibachi Sushi Lounge! Such a fun spot for large groups, kids & adults! So much to see and experience. The Chefs here are great and make it a fun experience to remember while the food is prepared right in front of you! I have been for numerous celebrations! My go-to is usually the NY Strip Steak & Chicken Combo, its such a great combo. Very filling as well as of course, leftovers to bring home! Decided to stop by this loca hibachi lounge for the first time. I had heard good things. I decided to go with the hibachi chicken & tenderloin. The food was great!!!! Our cook was funny and entertaining even though it was just one friend and I. I seriously loved the steak it was cooked SO perfect!! My friend considered it "basic" compared to the other hibachi places we've been too. However if you're near by I think it's a good stop!! read more

The space is nice. Only been once in a booth but a pleasant looking environment. The service was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable waiter. The authentic Chinese food tripe in chili oil was delicious. The green and black bok choy with mushrooms was a tad expensive for the dish but delicious. Next the sushi sashimi and rolls. Tuna sushi, ika(squid)sushi, tako octopus sushi, unagi sea urchin sushi, salmon sashimi. Served on the traditional boat with Dikon radish and ginger. The portion was worth it and the fish was super fresh. The sushi rice was seasoned just right. We also ordered the shui Mai which was homemade and definitely the best around I've had. I was visiting the area for work and staying in a nearby hotel. While heading to the office, someone pointed out Feng Shui and mentioned that a person they were sitting next to on their flight raved about the place. I was curious but when I went online and saw their menu, I have to admit I wasn't impressed. I made an assumption that it was going to be a mediocre "asian fusion" experience. So I just filed away the information and didn't think about it. But, by the 2nd day of work meetings and having eaten a lot of the typical american fare, I decided I wanted something different. Another work friend was on the same page about that and we decided to check it out. When we walked in, we were both pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! There was a nice ambiance and it was obvious by the decor, lighting and demeanor of the hostess that this was a place you might make reservations. I thought about using the Yelp check-in feature deal, but the hibachi grill was going to be a 30 minute wait. I was too hungry to wait around. We got seated and ordered. We shared the deep fried crab, Beijing duck, a few sushi rolls, the uni nigiri. I also happened to order green tea with brown rice, or what I know as genmaicha. So imagine my surprise when I got a teapot with green tea and a little bowl of brown rice. :) I was like, what? Anyway, I suppose this is a literal interpretation of green tea with brown rice. It was funny and kinda set the tone for a fun dinner. Naturally, I didn't eat the brown rice because I was expecting a different tea. But, that's ok. Everything else was really good. Overall, the food and service was good. I would recommend dinner here. There was also a good cocktail, wine and beer menu but I was not drinking this evening. read more

My friend & I went here tonight for appetizers and drinks. We had the Feng Shui platter for 2 & the Coconut shrimp she had a kamikaze martini and I had the mango mai tai after a recommendation from the bartender. The coconut shrimp are the best coconut shrimp I have ever had in my life EVER. They were jumbo in a tempura batter covered in this delicious sauce. Get them you will not regret it. The winner on the Feng Shui platter was the teriyaki and the crab rangoon. All in all A+ for our meal. I will be back! P.S. This could be an example of spreading yourself too thin. I used to love this place and whenever I have guests from out of town, this was the place we'd go. Lately, it's been one disappointing journey after another. We kept going back because anyone can have an off day, but the last 3 times it's been the same. This is the new standard now and I don't like it. The quality has gone down, but the price stays the same. I see they've expanded quite a bit and I think they may have moved the kitchen staff around to promote the other places. That, or the original group have left to open their own places. Feng Shui is now 2-for-2 with me. I have come twice, both times for sushi, once for a casual weeknight dinner, and once for weekend evening dinner and drinks. Both times were great! The food is fresh and fantastic (tonight's tuna-avo roll had BIG chunks of tuna - not my thing but they were still very tasty). Kudos to the manager who - both times I was there - came to the table to check how the meal was going, thanked us as we left, and made a presence in the dining room. Great service! No issues with seating - this place is huge! Expansive menu including Chinese and Japanese dishes. Great drink menu (scorpion bowls, too!), and professional staff. The food comes out piping hot (besides the sushi, of course) almost as soon as you put your order in. Crab rangoon is heaven! Sushi is super fresh -- just make sure to ask for no roe if you don't prefer it as they use roe on a lot of their rolls. *Also, if you have a smart phone you may want to bring it -- the maki menu has no description and the staff is good but not totally fluent in English, so if you don't know what a B52 roll is, the only way to find out is to google it!* Love love love (!!) the atmosphere - intimate, trendy, but spread out enough that you feel you don't have to whisper. Clean and upscale, sans matching upscale price tag. Tuna roll, Idaho maki, and a Long Island totaled $18.25. Great across the board and can't wait to be back! read more

Went here for the first time with some friends. The wait was a little long, but to be expected considering it was the day after Christmas. The food and atmosphere were great. The chefs were entertaining. Only issue I experienced was when I using the bathroom upstairs (my stomach was rumbling, so that should indicate the position I was in) an older gentleman that works there opened the door by first unlocking it with a tool he had in his hand and then stared at me for about 5 seconds as I told him to get out. (The bathroom was a single toilet bathroom, not stalls. Only access was the one door.) I was quite embarrassed and immediately notified management. Management apologized but seemed more concerned with coming up with excuses than trying to solve the problem. I am disappointed with the way they handled that. We were there with kids and would have been even more outraged if some strange dude walked in on either one of them. Food was good, just make sure you keep an eye on the bathroom door lock and don't let your young kids go to the bathroom unsupervised. read more

One of the best place to have sushi. Pretty pricey but wtheckkkk, if you want to pay for quality food then it's definitely worth it. I went there to try their scorpion bowl, it was weak at first but our super nice waitress went back and gave us a cup of shot to throw in there...perfect. I hate going to any Asians' restaurant and order a scorpion bowl, not only to be disappointed with how it taste but how weak it is. I'm NOT an ALCOHOLIC. We used to go here all the time but the quality of food over the past two years has gotten pretty bad. We went here yesterday for takeout for Christmas after a family member tested positive for covid. Prices have gone way up ($12 for veg fried rice?). Food was cold and bland as if made the day(s) before - chicken fingers rubbery and oily. At first, I was amazed at how large this restaurant is. There is a big main dining area, a smaller dining/private party area, a bar, and they do the Hibachi upstairs. It is a very clean and nicely decorated restaurant with very courteous staff. My friends and I split orange chicken (delicious), house fried rice (delicious, but a little too greasy), egg rolls (very good, but a little greasy), crab rangoons (excellent), and a dish with chicken and green beans (also very good). I'm going to make this short and sweet. Both my boyfriend and I immediately stated (after putting it in our mouths) that their Jalapeno roll was the most delicious thing we have ever tasted. EVER. And I've had a 1995 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Bordeaux. AND THIS WAS BETTER! Aside from that, everything else was above average Asian cuisine. I go here all the time cause it's consistently awesome. Maybe the portions are kinda small sometimes, but the quality of the food never disappoints. Just hit the buffet if you want portions. The best chinese food I've ever eaten!! Their mixed drinks are amazing, not at all stingy with the alcohol!!! The decor is very fancy, it made me feel a little shlubby, but I got over that real fast. My sister and brother in law introduced me to this place. They hyped it up a lot and it did not disappoint. The Scallion pancakes were crispy and flavorful. The chicken fingers were lightly battered and the chicken was moist. The orange beef was out of this world! For drinks I had a Zombie which tasted like a tropical fruit punch, delicious and packed a punch! My boyfriend had a Mai Tai, which could make your head spin around! We had a large family gathering here. The chefs did the cooking of the meal right in front of us at the table, and that was really exciting! They did acrobatic stunts with the food and utensils and also caused the flames to flare up high and large clouds of steam to rise up into the air. Beautiful! Spectacular! This pl;ace is the BEST place we have found for Sushi, in the Lowell Area!!! Waitstaff were unbelievably attentive! Drinks were fab! Be careful, there scorpian bowls do bite! They are heavy handed with the booze, i'm not complaining! the boston red sox roll and snow mountain were great. we also tried the pad thai, also great! we also had the crab rangoon, the actually use crab! unlike almost every other place around here! I don't usually post anything negative and I always give the establishment a chance to respond to me personally before I share the things that I am going to share. I contacted Feng Shui twice in reference to this and they never got back to me so I have to post this so nobody else has the same results. I got very sick after eating here. I had the hibachi 4 days ago and am just starting to feel better now. I had the Calamari and Scallops and it was either they were under cooked or one of them were bad. Really a 3.5. One of three Chinese/Asian places I've tried in the area, and BY FAR my fave of the three (the other 2 being Jade East in Tewksbury and Chopsticks Express (BARF) on Andover St) The decor is sorta 'understated elegant' and the place is very clean and spacious. The waitstaff are friendly and fast, and you will NEVER have an empty glass of water. The drinks here are STROOOONG. I once ordered a Mai Tai, and WOW one sip and my nipples were hard. I like strong drinks, but this was overpowering! The sushi is decent. Not at all bad, but no sushi-gasm either. They have a hibachi upstairs that I have yet to try. The Chinese food is recommended. Very generous portions. The General Tso's chicken is one of my faves here - nice meaty chunks with just the right amount of sauce. Prepared in such a way that is definitely a step up from takeout, and rightfully so, given the prices and decor. The broccoli is always steamed to perfection - bright green and just the right crunchy texture. And they offer daily or weekly specials that look adventurous and out-of-the-norm, which is how specials should be. The Sunday buffet - ehhhh. The food is OK; anything that sits under heat lamps for too long is going to lose some of its pizazz. They would do well to change it up a bit though; swap out one choice for another, rotate dishes - keep the patrons interested and coming back for more. I've been going every once in awhile for 2 years now and it's never once changed. The desserts at the buffet are always flavorless and stale. I do love the green tea ice cream though. My co-workers and I go here for lunch when we're in the mood for the ol' CB -- Chinese Buffet, that is. There are tons of waitstaff circulating, eagerly asking to re-fill your water in varying degrees of English fluency. When you're first seated, someone will also ask you if you want soup or salad. Politely decline; as Homer Simpson elegantly said, "you don't make friends with salad." And, more importantly, you don't need to pay extra at an all-you-can-eat-buffet. I even stay away from ordering soda. I've got little bad to say about the food that wouldn't also be an indictment of the entire concept of the Chinese Buffet. There's a wide variety of Americanized Chinese food, most of it is stuffed with MSG, and it's pretty good. But note well the sushi bar -- you can eat as much as you want, after all, and it's surprisingly good. And most importantly: their crab rangoon is CRACK. Best I've ever had, every time. The building has that super-slick modern architecture that seems to be "in" with Chinese restaurants these days, so it's suitable for business lunches... as long as you have the willpower to not make a pig out of yourself! Prices aren't bad (it is a buffet and it is pretty good stuff) but they aren't great, either. Overall, it's not one of the best places you'll ever go, but it's a solid lunch buffet! read more

WARNING: You might overeat at the buffet...excellent choices, sushi, mussels. lobster, steak, garlic green beans, seaweed, soups, we had it all. DESSERT: Skip the sugary cakes (husband says they are not good). Fresh pineapple was nice finish for me. The staff hover nearby filling water glasses and removing soiled plates. It's got to a point now that I pretty much only go here for their all you can eat buffets. They've got a very nice selection and it all comes out fresh because of the specific times they have for the buffet. The presentation of the place is very nice and neat. Unique and has a modern feel. The star was knocked off because their upstairs hibachi was okay and their sushi selection was OK. Felt a bit over priced.. But their buffet makes me not want to go to any other buffet in the area. This is a review and rating strictly on Feng Shui's Sunday evening dinner buffet. I usually avoid buffets as I have always found them to be disappointing. But loving their food off the menu, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately I was again disappointed. There were a large number of standard appetizers and entrees, plus sushi and some dessert items. In general, it was hit or miss. Some items were good, while others were poor. My worries has always been how long the food has been out. Multiple items appeared to have been out for a while. Although the chicken wings and fried dumplings looked fine, they were dry and cold. Other items followed suit. The lo mein was also on the slightly warm side. The fried rice did not look appealing. The chicken teriyaki and coconut shrimp were terrific. I should note we arrived just 1.5 hours into the start of the buffet. It was not at the tail end. I note that I am not a fan of sushi. Still the sushi offered in the buffet looked completely unappetizing. My son who does eat a lot of sushi confirmed that it was not very good. At over $20 a person, I cannot recommend the buffet. If I were to rate on the buffet by itself, it would be two stars at best. We will continue to visit Feng Shui. But we will avoid the buffet and order fresh off the menu where they shine and get four stars as noted in a previous review. read more

I am definitely a fan. I have done the lunch buffet during the week, the dinner buffet on the weekend and many nights out at this place. I have enjoyed every single occasion. Yes, it is more expensive than other places for take-out but I would rather pay for the quality of this food than what I remember options at Chen's Kitchen to be like. I love their dumplings with spinach and their scallion pancake. Feeling greedy one night, I ordered some rice to go with the Rainbow Roll that I ordered. Thinking out loud, I asked myself if I should get another roll of Sushi- it was the first time that I had ordered a specialty roll from there- from anywhere. A look of confusion quickly flashed over my servers face and I decided not to. I am so glad that I didn't- there was so much food on my plate I could barely finish it! Feng Shui offers a wide variety of Asian dishes, but for the money, the Japanese hibachi / sushi menus are where it's at. The hibachi chefs are amiable and highly skilled. The food is cooked quickly and the chefs' hijinks at the grill add an element of entertainment to the evening. During our last visit, my wife had the MaiTai... stiff drink, well made, plenty of booze, but not overpowering. The sushi menu is not the most extensive I have seen, but everything is fresh and delicious. I recommend the maguro sushi. For our dinners, we had combos... chicken & scallops and filet & shrimp. All the seafood was fresh and the meats are cooked to perfection. Hint: don't skimp on the $2.50 side of fried rice... it is cooked to order and delicious! I've only been here for the weekday buffet, which is mediocre at best. I found the food to be bland and unauthentic, but maybe I'm just not understanding the appeal of stale tiramisu cake, sketchy sushi and flavour-less lo mein in the same buffet? What? Granted it's unlimited, but for what you pay (~$17), I think you can eat way better Asian food at places like Pho Da Lat nearby. read more

My husband Jim and I ordered from Feng Shui for the first time tonight and were pleasantly surprised. We got BBQ spare ribs on the bone, Steamed Shumai, both the Japanese and Chinese style (Jim liked both, I liked the smaller Japanese dumplings better) we got General Gau's chicken, Coconut Shrimp (easy on the sauce as it is very sweet but has a nice flavor) and Mongolian beef. Everything was very tasty and not at all salty. The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of beef in the Mongolian beef, what was there was yummy. I got my favorite eel sushi, it needed more sauce but was good. We have enough left over for dinner tomorrow night and will be ordering from there again. read more

We've been surprised how common Chinese restaurants seem to be in the towns and cities of Massachusetts. Moving to the Atlantic seaboard from the Pacific Coast, we assumed they would be a more dispersed commodity. So, it is a delight to have a place like Feng Shui in our community. Granted, many of the items on their a la carte menu do not break free of the conventions of your typical Chinese restaurant, i.e. fried chicken bits in a cloying orange sauce. Still most of the dishes are nicely prepared and tasty. We've tried their sushi as well and find the ingredients fresh and their combos tasty as well. Their Fenway roll was an unexpected combo of fish and fried potato, but good. Have not been here to sample the buffet. Based on several reviews, I think we will stick with their regular menu. Service is fast and efficient. The interiors are nicely decorated, exuding a sense of calm after a frenetic day. read more
