This place is over rated. I use yelp and was not pleased this place received so many good ratings. We has fettacine Alfredo, chicken fried steak and pork chops. Fettuccine was not Alfredo but some odd slightly pink with red pepper. In stead of the " best", my chicken fried steak was not even better but below average. To add insult. It was a little pricier than most. I would not eat there again read more

After all the great reviews, I was expecting much more. It was ok, but basically your typical Sysco fair. Nothing homemade like I was hoping. Gravy was thick and goopy, chicken fried steak and okra had way too much breading, mac and cheese had no flavor. Service was good, and I guess for a small town, the restaurant was o.k. compared to Dairy Queen, but overall, it was pretty pricey for pretty cheap food. Maybe I'm just spoiled coming from "big D" where there is awesome food everywhere! read more

Great food! The Wrong Way Chicken is amazing and I recommend the Patron Margarita. Service was great but slow.

I lived in Canyon for 3 years and ate at almost every restaurant in the area. Feldman's is far and away the best restaurant for comfort food in the area. I started with the Tortuga Chicken and Railroad Ties and worked my way up to The Big Lebowski. I tried to have something different every time I went (even though it was hard...) and never left hungry or disappointed. I now live in Seattle and miss Feldman's every day. Any time I visit Texas I make a trip to Canyon just to eat here! I've driven up to 8 hours just to eat here and it's definitely worth it. read more

My three stars are for the attentive service, cool decor and vibe. The food was not too good. My green chili cheeseburger was pretty well done and not too tasty. The green chili's were hard to see or taste. However the fries were pretty tasty. I would stick with beer as the special margarita tasted like a bad slushy. Yet the place was crowded so maybe I need to give it another try. You never know. read more

This place is such a fun restaurant. Everything from the menu to the decor to the wait staff. They have great beans and cornbread- a classic Texan dish. They have good catfish and chicken. The desserts are amazing- make sure you save room! read more

Feldman's isn't so much a diner as a traditional American restaurant, of which we've been making a habit lately. But it also feels a little more commercialized or mainstream than some. The space is open, the walls have new old memorabilia on them, and best of all there's a model train running above your heads. The menu is not simply "down-home" cooking. It's expansive like the "neighborhood bar and grill" concept, only there's no bar as far as I could tell. Certainly, there's Texas fried goodness as Robyn W. puts it, but there are also pastas, salads, and even a lighter options section. I enjoyed the Fettuccine Alfredo that comes with a house salad. I was disappointed it was too late to make it up to Amarillo, but Feldman's actually hit the spot. Yet another college town came through for us. read more

Not impressed. Service was TERRIBLE... We felt as though we were a nuisance to our server. Even if the food was the best thing in town, we still would refuse to go back. Luckily for us it was a easy decision- the food was below average. read more

Greeted immediately and seated within a few minutes of walking in the door. Waitress was friendly and courteous. Food was great. Service was slow receiving but worth the wait. read more

Good service - very friendly and attentive. Food was ok. The atmosphere positive -- we were there when not many people were in.

This is easily the best restaurant in Canyon. It's always full, and depending on when you go, there might be a wait. The pork chops were fantastic! If you end up in Canyon for lunch this place is a must. read more

Tried their recommended Chicken Fry Steak...TOUGH! I've had much better Chicken Fry! Atmosphere is pretty incredible....but probably won't eat here again. \ read more

Stopped on the way home from camping. The reviews on YELP intrigued us. We were seated promptly the wait staff was friendly. We ordered off the large selection of menu items. The French fries were really good. Made up for the fact they do not serve onion rings. If you are a meat eater this is the restaurant for you. If you are a vegetarian go some place else. I initially was going to give this a four star until I went to the bathroom. It was awful. The floor was sticky and it just looked and felt dirty. read more

Wrong way diner eh? Definitely felt th right way to me....I've only got sandwiches there only because I have not felt the need to expand my horizons as greatly as my waistline. .but I'm am not against expanding either way...the mysterious suspended electric train added a touch of coolness not seen lots of other places...and signs tht will cause a giggle to erupt are placed very frequently all over this joint..so yes stop in..cheers read more

This is the only place I have ever been where the "light" section of the menu contained battered and fried foods, chicken fried steak and burgers. So ignore the terminology and just enjoy the food. It's a fun diner with lots of interesting things on the walls. read more

We are here from San Angelo and took a chance picking this place. I'm glad we did! Great food and service! We will definitely be back should we be in the area again. read more

My wife and I were in town for 1 day to see Palo Duro Canyon. It was 9 PM and most of the restaurants were already closed. We just needed something to eat after riding almost all day from Dallas. We elected to get something lite, so I got the loaded baked potato soup and my wife got the chicken tortilla soup. We decided to get the Tortuga Chicken with queso and pico from the LIghter side of the menu. Everything was excellent. The soup wasn't extremely hot, the perfect temperature to eat right away and we were both pleased with our soup. When the Tortuga Chicken arrived, I wasn't sure I would like it, soley based on the look. I was SO wrong! It was AMAZING! I wished we had gotten the larger portion. But it REALLY hit the spot. We had to leave the next afternoon and we talked about going there for lunch. We just ran out of time. But if you go to Palo Duro, I HIGHLY recommend you go to Feldman's to eat. read more

A unique local restaurant with a great atmosphere with a varied menu and good food. Unlike most of the restaurants you'll patronize. Model railroads choo-Chooing overhead add to the experience. Right next to the West Texas A&M it's a busy place at lunch time. We'd certainly visit again! read more

Pffft, not impressed. An IHOP, Denny's, or Luby's would be a welcomed alternative to Feldman's. The food is a notch above school cafeteria food. I love big portions and fried food but Feldman's just can't deliver on taste. The batter is bland, the food being battered is bland, just underwhelming. I'd rather go to the fast food joints in town. read more

This little sleepy town wakes you up in a big way at Feldman's Wrong Way Diner. Our server was Avery and we were very fortunate to have her. She was amazing! My wife and I just dropped in for dinner after hiking 2 miles in 2 hours at Palo Duro Canyon so we were famished. If you ever drop by, try the Chicken Poblano soup to start along with the fried pickles. They give you enough fried pickles to feed 6! The Caesar's salad was good along with Grilled Pork chops and Chicken Fried Steak. All normal fares in country kitchen restaurants but you'd be surprised how many eateries mess those dinners up. Not at Feldman's! For dessert, try the Bourbon Pecan Pie ssrved with vanilla ice cream all topped with caramel. Manna from heaven!! Be prepard to wait for 15 minutes or so if you drop by on Friday nights as Feldman's is pretty popular. Great good, great service and great ambience where the customer is made to feel welcomed indeed!! read more

Well, this place was recommended by the realtor to try... i actually have eaten her about 8 years ago and it was great... this time it was bland and boring... defiantly worth giving another try! read more

Good food at good prices. They have a nice selection and the staff is always friendly. The atmosphere is fun, and I recommend it for anyone visiting Canyon. read more

This is a fantastic diner. Chicken fried steak was very good. Enjoyed the atmosphere too.

Super good service nice servers and awesome food unfortunately they were out of baked potatoes but that could be because we went later in the evening. read more

Great blackened catfish and you can actually get vegetables that are not fried. Suprising healthy option in the sea of fried chicken and BBQ. They also have great chicken fried steaks, amazing sides and bottomless drinks. Great for large parties or a casual dinner. read more

Let me start off by saying, this place caters the food for the Texas Musical. It also has a train track with a working miniature train that chugs along over your heads. I'm sorry we didn't bring our 2 year old son on this trip because he would have loved that part! So, first off. I feel bad because I was so hungry that I forgot to post pics. We ate here last night on a special outing with our daughter before heading over to the final 2016 production of the Texas musical. Let me first start off by saying, I'm on w clean eating thing right now. So, no fried, no heavy cream sauces, yada yada. I ordered a medium rare 6 oz sirloin, green beans and a salad. I will say the flavor of my steak was good, but the steak was cooked to almost well-done. Green beans are Italian green beans. They were tasty. My husband's steak was another story. He ordered the ribeye medium rare. While his steak was cooked to the correct temperature, it was seriously lacking in the seasoning department and looked a little boiled? Not sure how that happens. Ranch was legit. None of that bitter, bottled stuff here. My daughter ordered the Hawaiian Chicken and it was excellent! The chicken was cooked perfectly (not overdone and dry). It was served with rice and her choice of two sides (fried okra and fries). Not gonna lie. I tried a bite of her items because, hey, it was one meal and I needed to help you all out. Okra was good. Fries were battered and I didn't care for them. Now, on to dessert. I didn't order one. I chose to participate in the, "I'll take a bit of yalls so I can write a review." Sopapilla Cheesecake is good. However, they put this white coconut syrup on it. Next time, I'd ask for none of that and ice cream on the side. Coconut does not belong on sopapillas or cheesecake. (And I like coconut). The chocolate cake, ok, I might've made my daughter upset because I took three bites of that thing. Need I say more? Well, yes I do. They put that same white coconut syrup on the chocolate cake. STOP THAT! Other than that, it was divine! Worth another stop when I'm not in the throws of stick and twig food choices. That Texas Egg Roll is calling my name! read more

Great home cooking with a tremendous environment. The trains entertain kids and they always have a game on for the guys. It's a little hard to find but once you do it's worth it. Service is always great and the chicken fry is great. Burgers are filling and worth every penny. Steak fingers maybe one of the best I have had. I always get that for lunch and the kids like it as well. read more

It's a diner. If you have ever been to a diner you know what to expect. They have ordinary diner food with some over the top options. They do have a toy train that goes throughout the restaurant over your head which is pretty cool read more

Stopped in on a trip to Palo Duro Canyon, great place. Ordered the Texas egg roll. A Philly cheesesteak type stuffing that is battered and fried, I would recommend, the French friends were good. Service was quick and friendly. read more

Great CFS. The food was very very good. The wait staff was Excellent. The Shrimp Scampi was fabulous. The ambiance was good, they had two trains overhead on lighted railroad tracks. read more

I would have loved to have tried the Lebowski (or any of the signature dishes, the place came recommended), but after waiting 20min on the patio and not even a drink order was taken, we had to leave. I did call the number and was offered an apology; I do appreciate that. We ended up headed to B&P and had a wonderful time. read more

Their catfish is the best between Canyon and Amarillo. Even beats the Catfish Shack in Amarillo. My inlaws love the pork chops. Good food. read more

Mains of Chicken Fried Steak and Tortuga Chicken were very good. The sides (broccoli casserole and fried okra) were, at best, average. Service good. Prices fair. Building has interesting ambience with a collection of random memorabilia. read more

Great food! I had the steak tips with broccoli and green beans. The chips and queso were good. The steak tips were perfectly cooked. Atmosphere was good. Temperature and lighting were good. They have many different sauces on the wall to try. Good service! The waitress was polite when we asked to move to a bigger table to add a few chairs for unexpected friends. A must try for anyone in the area. read more

Best place in Canyon. Can't go wrong with any of their signature dishes. Love the Tortugas Chicken and Sopaipilla Cheesecake

This place is great as long as you order something to do with fried chicken. Other than that, the food is terrible. This is the only restaurant I've ever been to that couldn't cook rice properly. However, the tortugas chicken dinner is incredible. Keep it simple and you should be A-OK. Also, the decor is very inviting for kids-lots of stuff to look at, a motorized train that circles the building, etc., but pretty irritating for anyone else with half of a brain cell. read more

This is probably the best restaurant in this area! I had the bacon-wrapped shrimp, and it could have been the most delicious thing to ever pass my lips! The shrimp was seasoned and cooked to the best shrimp can be cooked. The only thing and I mean the ONLY thing that didn't make it perfection was that the bacon was kind of chewy. Other than that it was a meal made in heaven. The sides I had were corn and French fries. The fries were good, nothing over the top. The corn is really good with butter. The service was great. Our waiter wasn't too attentive, but not too under attentive. It is a great place to eat, and I would recommend it to anyone. Especially the bacon-wrapped shrimp! read more

Stop and eat here anytime I can. Never had a bad meal...service is great. My all-time favorite it the Mac Daddy. Highly recommended.

It's a fun place to see with trains running overhead. The food was quite good. But the staff wasn't as friendly as the ambiance might suggest. Good food though. read more
