I've only eaten here one time, and it tasted good, however it wasn't exactly what I expected. I ordered simply, getting a grilled cheese and salad but the bread was cut so thick with such little cheese the sandwich was difficult to eat. The staff was friendly and it's a cute venue setup like a barn, so I understand the loyal following. Would I seek the place out to try again? Probably not but if I was with a friend who wanted to go I would certainly give them another chance. read more

We went here recently for breakfast. In one word.... Outstanding! The cinnamon rolls are delicious and big enough for three people to share!! We even had leftovers. For my main entree I had the Tuscan Frittata which was filled with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, shallots, parmesan, rosemary, oregano and pesto. A flavor explosion in every bite!! Wanted breakfast this morning and tried the Feed Cafe. As we sit here eating, flies are buzzing all around. The serve staff only serves. There is no one to clean and wipe down a table. Ours is covered in sticky stuff (honey) and had food on it from previous eaters. We ordered two classic breakfasts. The over easy eggs were good, but the scrambled eggs were too salty. The bacon is thick and meaty. Very good. The fried potato's were also good. The toast is thick, but good. They ask for a tip when you order. I tipped. When I saw the level of cleanliness and service, I will never tip before a meal again. Thank you Feed Cafe for showing me the light on tipping. This restaurant is highly rated. I don't know why??? This was my first time here today on a Sunday and the place was Super busy! We waited in line for at least 20 mins to order as there was only one gal taking orders. It was worth the wait! The baked good and coffee was delicious. They do sell out fast of the baked good (pumpkin bread was gone) We all ordered off the menu and it great. Fresh and tasty. Great service as soon as you walk in, super friendly and smiley. We ordered the green stuff, the Tuscan frittata, kids had their pancake and eggs. I was SUPER thrilled to see they had unsweetened matcha! I usually can't order it in most places because the pre mixed stuff tends to be mega sweet... theirs was perfect! I just added a little bit of honey and enjoyed! The food was delicious, potatoes not greasy or heavy and the portions were perfect. On the way back form Yellowstone and needing to catch a late afternoon flight back to Seattle, Feed Cafe was the perfect spot to stop at and get a bite to eat. They have some great vegetarian options as well. But what I can't stop thinking about is the soup of the day they had. I just was not thrilled ..... Early Saturday am - we had to wait maybe 5 min for a table no problem. Everything was socially distanced appropriately inside. Everything was ok- not great. The service was ok- not super helpful or happy or anything. Had the oatmeal and it was ok - very much a create your own and add in your toppings which is fine but I need a bigger bowl to be able to add in fruit and such once at the table. The biscuit was honestly kind of weird and disappointing. We tried a pastry from the counter and it tasted a bit stale- like clearly not fresh from today. Icing on the cake- the cc machine wasn't working and they wanted people to leave their cc numbers on a slip of paper to be charged at a later time??? How about YUM # of stars?? This place serves up enormous quantity with each dish. Went in for brunch and couldn't finish it all. The coffee was great, the service was fantastic and the place was clean, kind and vibrant. Seriously kind staffers were there at every step. You walk in and order then they bring you the meal, so it's a little different than a normal sit down restaurant. I'll certainly be back. Located in this lil' gourmet ghetto of types with a few killer restaurants, Feed Cafe is serving up breakfast and lunch and doing a damn good job. The breakfast items LOOKED INSANE. If you are looking for some savory eats, get after it. I opted for a bit lighter fare and went with the salad with chicken thighs and a yogurt dressing. SO dang good. Tender spiced chicken on a bed of salad, covered with toasted seeds and avocado, topped with a light, but creamy yogurt dressing. The only low-light of this meal, was that the 2 salads took about 45 minutes. I could see them looking at us and sighing, rolling their eyes, and their whole demeanor was off brash. I understand you close at 2, however we were there 15 minutes past close finishing our meal. Regardless of if you are ready to get out of there or not, please be kind to people. I felt unwelcome and more as though I was a problem than a guest. We went for breakfast on my wife's birthday, we had been once before and enjoyed the food but this visit really deepened my appreciation. I got the "bapple"breakfast sandwich which came with some gloriously crispy homefries and was a delicious menu item. The saltiness of the sausage and slab bacon on it could have overwhelmed the sandwich but was brought into balance with a roasted slice of green apple. This sweetness enhanced and balanced the sandwich for a symphony of flavors. The house made ketchup was also nice (not usually something I would say, give me Heinz 9 times out of 10). The wife got the challah French toast, it was not as custardy as other ones we've had but was supplemented with a good berry compote and custard drizzle. Overall a great breakfast, the food came out pretty fast and the exposed beams and antique style light fixtures were nice to look at. read more

Overrated with ok food. If it wasn't soo popular, I think that the food would be better. Everything I've eaten here seems like it was cooked as quickly as possible. For Instance, the "hash" was barely cooked potatoes, not fried into a hash. Also, green beans don't belong in a breakfast hash, fortunately, they were big enough to pick out. The French toast is big, but it is just soft bread with a brushing of egg on the outside. Its not bad or anything, it just feels cheap or lazy, definitely not special. That sums up Feed, its not special, just ok. I guess that IMO its just not good enough to justify an entire waiting/line room. Unless you are going at an off hour during the week, there will be a line. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but if I have to wait in line for breakfast, it better be a good god damned breakfast. read more

My dad is a tough critic and this is one of his favorite restaurants. He favors it for the customer service and quality of food. Today I got to experience why he loves The Feed. When we walked in the server, Mikala, recognized my dad and greeted us right away and was happy to see him after the Covid break. She remembered what he orders, two pancakes and two eggs, and showed top notch customer service. When I looked at the menu most of the breakfast entrees had sausage in them. I'm not a big sausage person so I decided on the veggie hash, which had plant protein sausage in the hash. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. The table had a sign indicating it had been sanitized. She brought us our coffee that was good and strong! The coffee creamer was so creamy and good! My veggie hash was delicious. Absolutely awesome place for breakfast! I wish I lived in Bozeman so I could come here every day. Unfortunately, my DH and I were just passing through on our road trip. This is more of a casual place, where you walk in and get in line, then order and grab a seat. They bring the food out to you. The space is rather enormous, with tables large and small, plus an outdoor area with grass, picnic tables and BLANKETS if you want to sit on the grass. So cute! (Unfortunately, the view is of a McDonalds and busy street, but still...fresh air!) I heard that they made their English Muffins in house, and that was reason enough to come, for me. The muffins did NOT disappoint. They were light but substantial, flavorful and stuffed with sausage and egg and cheese. Delish! I also tried the blueberry pancakes, and holy hell, they were some of the best pancakes I have ever had. The batter is a sourdough one, which adds SO much flavor. Plus, they are enormous, and perfectly cooked. Get a side of bacon to go alongside! The staff are SUPER friendly, and if you get a cup of coffee, there are free refills. I'm sure they know my name by now - I always get the same classic breakfast because personally I can stand by saying that this is 100% best breakfast in Bozeman, MT. If I could afford it I would come every morning, but the few times I come in the month they're the best. Kind and considerate service, fast, and delicious no matter how chaotic! I'm young but can say this english muffin is to die for! I'm moving across the country this month, and I will miss this restaurant!
