Ate here with my boyfriend for his birthday and our server was Dan! He was so incredibly attentive and gave great suggestions on how we could maximize the amount of food we tried on the menu. It was our first time trying the caesar salad and chicken wings as well and both were equally delicious. I didn't know we could split up the wing sauces or combo a pizza half/half at no extra charge. My favorite pizza place hands down! Every time I try somewhere else I compare it to Federal Pizza and it just doesn't compare. My go to pizza is always the Casanova. If you order this get it for dine in only not take out . Doesn't taste the same. My gf likes the Pineapple Express and it has gotten spicier. The manifesto is ok the Casanova is where it's at. They have a great lunch special half a pizza and half salad. My favorite salad are the Caprese, chop, and Caesar. Plenty of food for 13.50. This place is becoming one of my favorite pizza places to eat. They have wood fire and Detroit style pizzas that I have tried so far. Plus some great appetizers you can mix and match for a tasty meal. I recently had the pineapple express pizza which is definitely my favorite so far. The crust is crispy it doesn't distract from the toppings. I love pineapple and ham. This one has a little kick to it too which makes it stand out for me. The Detroit style pizza was also good. The crust was crispy on the outside but still soft inside. I'd say maybe a little more cheese was needed. But overall very tasty. I'd get it again if I'm in the mood for a thicker pizza. I also saw a couple specials that I plan to take advantage of. $15 lunch special half pizza and salad. Or Mondays and Tuesdays after eight a pizza and a bottle of wine or a growler of beer for $30. Service is a lot like the other ones in this restaurant group where everyone helps each other so it keeps things moving and everyone seems very friendly. I've been here a few times already, and my favorite pizzas are probably the Casanova with the arugula and prosciutto and the Detroit style pizza with hot honey. Their salads are also great as well. We always have great service here. Vibes are great. Have never really had to wait for a table, but it's never too empty. They have a bar inside and outdoor seating as well. This is my favorite Resturant! I love their daily lunch special. We were in today celebrating a special occasion and the service was amazing. I called to set up a reservation and they made everything so quick and easy. When we got to the Resturant and it was time to order they were so understanding and willing to accommodate for my father's diet due to medical reasons. One of the managers was really helpful with the menu before we ordered. We ordered the meatball/polenta app and the polenta was piping hot while the meatballs were cold in the middle. Let a passing waiter know about the cold meatballs and he took the plate away, put in a new order for us. The new order did not arrive until we were finishing the last 2 slices of our pizza. Again, polenta piping hot and meatballs were cold in the middle. The passing waiter nor our waitress checked on the re-fired plate, no manager came over either. Did not send the plate back a second time since we were almost done with our pizza and they were starting to get busy (Sat night). Waitress ask about dessert and the check but did not ask about the re-fired plate. Federal is the last of the Postino family restaurants I had yet to try, and it definitely lived up to the great food and service of all the other locations. It was a busy Friday night, but we were able to get seats and the bar right away and had the most wonderful bartender serve us. He gave wonderful wine recommendations and was very accommodating to my indecisiveness by letting me sample 2 of the reds before making up my mind. The bolognese pasta was so delicious and was the perfect amount, no left overs here! They were also able to do a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza which was great so that we were able to try out 2 different pizzas and now know that the prosciutto pizza with arugula is the winner. Hate to say it, but we were disappointed with our order we had delivered last night. We dropped over $100 on 3 pizzas, a pasta, and a small salad and didn't feel like the usual Federal quality was there. The crust on the Hawaiian was so flimsy and underdone, some of the toppings slid right off. The middle of the pizza was just kind of a mushy mess. And the pepperoni pan pizza had hardly any cheese on it. It was basically just a lot of sauce and not very much pepperoni. The beef Bolognese pasta was fine. Nothing great, and not nearly as good as when it used to come with lamb. Sad to say the side salad was the highlight for me, although a bit pricey for the tiny portion. Federal has been one of our can't-miss places in Phoenix for years. We used to always rave about the high quality and consistency of everything they offer. A friend recommended this place so figured why not give a try. Had a reservation at 8pm but they were able to seat us around 7:30 which was very nice. Pretty casual ambiance and decor but the staff were very sweet and attentive. Started out with the loaded brussels which were so delicious, considering they are brussel sprouts. Would 100% get them again, we keep eating them throughout our dinner. Love how they are able to mix and match their pizzas, which allowed us to try a bit of everything. We did 1/2 big star,1/2 pepperoni with hot honey for the first pizza and then 1/2 casanova, 1/2 flamin lips for the other one. The Big Star was my personal favorite, the flavor combinations, smokeyness, the spices, and overall presentation was amazing. Will most definitely order that one again! The pepperoni with hot honey was a perfect balance of sweet and savory, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Wasn't a big fan of the casanova but the flamin lips was great, especially if you love a nice kick! I work for a delivery platform and have picked up orders from this location multiple times. Unfortunately, every single time I arrive, the order is not ready often not even close to being completed. What makes this especially frustrating is the consistent lack of accountability from management. I have politely requested to speak with a manager on several occasions, and the response is always the same "It's not our fault," "There's nothing we can do," or "If you don't want to wait, you can leave the order." This response is dismissive and completely ignores the fact that delivery drivers are working on tight schedules, just like the customers who are waiting for their food. Delivery drivers are not paid to stand around indefinitely. Our time is just as valuable as the restaurant's and the customer's. Repeated delays negatively affect driver ratings, customer satisfaction, and the overall reputation of the business. Being told repeatedly that no one can take responsibility or make adjustments reflects very poorly on the management running this location. At this point, the issue does not seem to be occasional delays it appears to be a systemic management and workflow problem. If orders cannot be completed on time, then pickup times need to be adjusted, staffing needs to be reevaluated, or management needs to take ownership and communicate honestly instead of deflecting responsibility. I strongly encourage the owner or upper management to review how this location is being managed, as the current approach is disrespectful to delivery drivers and unfair to customers. This restaurant has the potential to do better, but meaningful changes need to start with leadership and accountability. read more

Really enjoyed my dinner at Federal Pizza! The Detroit Style supreme pizza (forgot what the exact name was) was exactly the way Detroit style pizza should be. Thick crust, heavy sauce, lots of cheese, and tons of meats on it. Added Jalepenos to it for an extra kick as well. The pizza came out in about 20 minutes after putting in the order. Service was relatively prompt but we did wait about 5 minutes after being seated to be greeted and drink orders taken. Apparently its an open service model so many servers can take a table, but besides a different food runner the same server took all orders and ran the credit card. I'm subtracting a single star (wish I could leave a 4.5 star instead) since there were flies buzzing around and some of the tables were sticky. They had some large parties coming in and out so I don't hold it against them. It left a college sticky bar atmosphere since it wasn't the cleanest all around. There was plenty of outdoor seating with misters but it was 106 outside so it wouldn't have made a difference. Overall will be back and its added to the local restaurant rotation. Will definitely be a place to visit when the Detroit Style pizza cravings hit! read more

Ah Federal Pizza. I have eaten here in person and had delivery. This time was delivery and it arrived cold. No fault of the restaurants as they didn't deliver it, but it made the food not as good as usual. It was a 3 star this time, but they are usually 4. The Garlic bread was great with the "spicy" marinara. I do with it had some more spice though. Make us sweat! The pepperoni pizza had a crispy artisan crust with tiny pepperonis that cup when it cooks. These are the only pepperonis I want from now on! The wings were your average buffalo wings BUT, with their homemade ranch... yum! The ranch takes the cake here. I could probably drink it. Highly recommend adding an egg to your pizza if you're into venturing out from the norm. The service is the only downside to this establishment. Our family loves Federal! We'll find any excuse to meet up here. The team members are very individualistic and LGBTQ+ friendly. My fiancée loves the Flaming Lips pizza, with Gorgonzola and mixed Italian meats. Even though I don't eat meat, the wings are absolutely delicious! Let me preface this by saying I usually have a great experience here. Unfortunately that was not the case during this visit. Ordering Online - once we placed our order online, it gave us an estimated pickup time of 45 minutes later. We arrived 3 minutes early (just in case) and didn't get our food until 60 minutes after ordering. We had a salad in our order, but didn't receive any utensils even though we requested 3 sets. Normally that wouldn't matter, but when you're staying at a hotel, it's a major inconvenience. Drive Thru - I don't recommend using this on busy nights since it gets crowded and there aren't that many pickup parking spots. Since people don't necessarily arrive in the order that the food is ready, they will most likely direct you to the parking spots in between them and Joyride. Food - I love their pizza! I recommend the meatball pizza since they make their own meatballs. They also have a good chopped salad, although I wish the lettuce was more chopped up (it's more like wild greens). I've been here before to dine in and I think I would stick to that in the future. They don't have a ton of seating inside, but I've had good service before. read more
