Had the spaghetti & marinara with breadsticks. Had to wait longer than usual, but was worth the wait. Food was hot, fresh and had more marinara than past visits. Hoping this change is permanent for this location. Want to give a shout-out to Eden for her superior customer service.

Asked for the fresh cheese when my order was brought out. I was told it was already put up for the night. Um, you are open for 2 more hours. No customer service.

The clean area of Fazoli's

This location is one of the best I've known, always a pleasant experience. Such nice employees and price worthy food 100% of the time! Love this location and the environment, it's happy and seemingly clean! 10/10 for me!

Come on Fazoli's, are you that annoyed with me for ordering a water that you have to give me this tiny little water glass out of spite? Do you really believe that it's gonna motivate me to buy a full sized soda next time I visit? Let me tell you, there won't be a next time because you had to be petty about a stupid glass of water.

My dine-in lunch experience was much better than this location's rating would predict. The $5 lunch (which included two half entrees, unlimited bread sticks, and a drink) was a very good value. I chose the chicken fettuccine alfredo premium entree ($1 adder), and a house salad. My salad was ready at the counter immediately, and my hot entree was brought to my table in nine minutes. The salad was fresh and tasty, and the chicken fettuccine alfredo was surprisingly good, with delicious chunks of seasoned meat, and a creamy sauce. The service was very good, with free, warm, scrumptious, bread sticks flowing, and a manager stopping by to make sure everything was okay. The dining area was also clean and spacious. Very nice, especially for the price. This location has a drive-thru and a patio.

This is possibly my first 1 star review ever and they earned it! So after we fought off the urge to leave as soon as we entered. The poor teenager at the front counter who had been yelled at by Cheryl the "manager" for taking too many orders "those people are going to have to wait until I get caught up!" So those people were in front of us and they left begging us to do the same. However, we hadn't been to fazolis in a long time and the kids were looking forward to the breadsticks. After 15 mins we had the privilege of them taking our order and money. Fast forward 25 mins we got our food. Surprise it was to go! Funny we said for here and we picked out out very own table it was actually one of the 3 that were clean in the whole place. So as we unpack our dine in picnic. I could tell this was not going to be good. I took pics of our feast. I did go get breadsticks while we waited. I believe Brenda was the only employee that seemed to care. She apologized to everyone individually as she brought out extra bread or food and each time she returned to the counter you could hear Cheryl say something unprofessional to her. My suggestion is if you're reading this before you go... and upon entering if they are upset with each other and there are 4 tables of people inside and two cars in drive thru probably skip it they are over worked and you'll pay for it...

The fresh backed bread sticks are amazing. The fast food Italian makes it a bonus. I love the ravioli.

Simon’s Pasta - Restaurant Exterior and Drive-thru

I ordered online and went through their drive thru. Super easy process and the woman in the drive thru was super nice. The sandwich was very tasty. It came with a sauce on the side but I didn't need any. The Asian pickles gave me enough flavor. The steak was good, had an ok amount of fat on it, but small amounts are no issues for me. My wife tried the Chicken Alfredo and she loved it. I think it was good, maybe the one-cheese kind of Alfredo called the Cacio e Pepe, don't get me wrong, it's very good, but the chicken probably isn't fresh, and the flavor is good. Not what I'm used to. But very good. NOW, the crème brûlée was AMAZING!!!!!! Totally worth the 4.50 each. Will I eat here again, sure. I'll give some of the other foods a try...but the crème brûlée will be a staple.

My beef noodle dish ($10.99) was served just eight minutes after I ordered at the bar, where the service was accommodative and still getting up to speed on order entry. The dish had a tasty sauce, delicious noodles, a good variety of veggies and a good amount of delicious, lean, seasoned, perfectly cooked beef - nice! I only wish the portion had been a little larger. I found the dining area to be clean and recently remodeled, with sound coming from one TV tuned to a sports channel inside. I also noticed a drive-thru lane outside. They opened eight minutes late and the employees took the parking spots closest to the entrance - not cool. I also noticed a 4% credit card surcharge. Overall, I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding up for the delicious dish.

So if you haven't tried this KC gem. Please go enjoy!!

Avelluto's Pizzeria & Ristorante is my new favorite Italian restaurant…read more I was driving home from some appointments and stopped in for lunch. Avelluto's is located in Mission, in the same shopping complex as Rally House, Mud Pie, and a Wing Stop, and Tipsy's Liquor. It's a small place, maybe dozen tables. You place your order at the front counter. If you're dining in you get a number. I was taking away and got the Eggplant Parmigiana and Tiramisu. While waiting I saw people continuing to come in and order, then waiting for a tablets to open. I think most of the people were considerate enough to not linger after eating. So the turnover on the tables was pretty quick. The Eggplant Parmigiana was really good. The breading on the eggplant was crispy and well-seasoned, the spaghetti was perfectly cooked, the sauce was deceptively simple. I say deceptively because it was a straight marinara but wonderfully flavored. And the Tiramisu! The best Tiramisu I've had. I went back with FPO and got pizza by the slice, the Chicken Parmigiana, and a small Meatball with Rigatoni. And of course, another slice of Tiramisu. Everything was wonderful the second time too. That tells me they're consistent and I will be going back again. And probably again after that.

I ordered the spaghetti + meatballs and I swear this is hands down the best spaghetti I've found in KC. The sauce tastes rich and actually has depth (not watery, not bland), the noodles were cooked right, and the meatballs were absolutely delectable (and huge) . The building is bistro-sized but packed to the brim, and once you try the food you'll understand why. I'd honestly wait an hour to get into this place. The staff treats everyone like family, and the whole vibe is pure comfort. We also ordered the garlic bread and a full basket was gone fast. Perfectly cooked, and honestly not like any other garlic bread I've had at an Italian restaurant. Everything tastes like your Italian grandparents made you food. The shrimp scampi was top notch too, with plenty of shrimp and big flavor. I don't even have a "but" for this place. All of the food was amazing, no bad side at all. If you're craving a legit Italian meal, put Ricco's on your list.

Food-wise, I had the Spaghetti & Wagyu Beef Meatball, and our table also got the lasagna and chicken parm. Everything was good and everyone was happy, but for the price (about double most other Italian chains), nobody was really blown away... until dessert. Between the crème brûlée and tiramisu, the entire table agreed that was the standout part of the meal. They were slammed when we went and we had a few service changes because of the rush. Getting drinks and putting our order in took longer than usual, but once we had a consistent server, it was all good. Busy nights happen. They also did a solid job keeping everything clean even during the chaos, and the restaurant itself is really beautiful. I'll be back, but I'm probably coming back just for the crème brûlée. The food was good, it just felt pricey for not having anything that really stood out in portion or flavor for my whole family. I had multiple family members in my party who've eaten here a lot tell me it tastes noticeably different than it used to. They said they've mentioned it to management before and were told changes were made to cut costs, and honestly, it shows in quality unfortunately. They don't plan to come back because of that, but I'll happily return for dessert.

The Wise Guy - Chicken Parmesan

When the Rieger Hotel left Crossroads there was a hole in my heart that I didn't think could be…read morefilled but then one wise guy moved in and I think my heart is whole again. The Wise Guy describes itself as an Italian tavern and that is an impeccable description because it's laid back, not too stuffy but still a classy joint. The food is stellar, the happy hour prices are great and the drink selection has something for everyone. First off, happy hour is from 4-6 pm Monday-Friday and has some great options for eating and drinking. The appetizers are all $2 off and with reasonable prices to begin with it's just icing on the cake. I would recommend some classics like the mozzarella sticks, which are fried golden brown and filled with ooey gooey cheese -the portion is large enough to share but beware because you won't want to- also, the tried and true Garlic Parmesan Fries are excellent. If you're in a cheesy mood but don't want anything too heavy then the whipped ricotta is a memorable choice, it has a nice tang from the citrus as well as a little bit of sweet heat from a hot honey drizzle. Of course it's served with pillowy fluffy seasoned focaccia bread. Now onto a MUST order! You may think of salads as boring or an afterthought or a healthier side option but, one of my favorite things on The Wise Guy's menu is the Chopped Italian Salad. It is literally just divine. If I'm at The Wise Guy and I don't order it then call the doctor because something is seriously wrong with me. They don't skimp on the toppings so this salad is filling not flimsy. The tangy roasted garlic vinaigrette is something that if they bottled it up I would buy it. The salad is always perfectly tossed and coated without being too soggy or slippery. It's hearty because of the trio of Italian meats that are studded throughout and on top the bed of romaine lettuce, think prosciutto, soppressata and capicola. The holy trinity of cured meats if you ask me. There's also briny peperoncini peeking through and chopped up squares of creamy provolone cheese adorning the top. If my ode to this salad didn't convince you then I don't know what else will! Just get it! Next up is the drinks, at happy hour they do $10 martinis which is a deal worth celebrating especially when there are a few to choose from. My all time favorite and most ordered is Amalfi Coast which is a fruit/citrus forward martini but, is always well balanced and strong. I love the slight sweetness from the peach infused vodka which pairs so well with the intensely citrus forward limoncello, these flavors are all balanced out with the herbaceous notes of basil. It's finished off with bubbly prosecco which makes it effervescent instead of syrupy. Last but not least are their pizzas, you didn't think I could cover an Italian restaurant without mentioning pizza did you? This also happens to be one of the best happy hour deals, all pizzas are $15 when some are normally priced as high as $25. The pizzas have a thin tavern style crust which is how I justify almost eating a whole one the other evening. My favorite pie is the prosciutto mozzarella, which is simple but notable. The prosciutto is crispy and not chewy or stringy, the robust red sauce as the base is comforting paired with the melty mild creamy mozzarella cheese. And to top it off a generous helping of fresh basil brightens it up a bit. Though this one is my personal favorite all four options The Wise Guy offers are incredible, you really can't go wrong!

I appreciated that they had a text feature to let us know that our table was ready. We shared the fries, a caesar salad and the rigatoni alla vodka, and the fries were a shining star! The rigatoni was a little too al dente bordering on chewy, but some people prefer that. I do think they could benefit from some better tables for three or four people, there is mostly just bar seating and 2-top stool seating. We had a server who was a bit awkward and it seemed like she was trying out different accents on us, which was a bit weird and confusing and it threw off our table's conversation every time she stopped by. Definitely want to come back for a happy hour!
