Really enjoyed our time, ordered five pizzas, breadsticks, cheese, sticks, wings, and also french fries. Everything was great, my favorite was the mac & cheese pizza with a deep dish touched to it The wings were very good, especially the garlic ones in my opinion And to be honest, the french fries were perfect. They were so good, especially with the branch that is housemade. Our waiter, Meghan was amazing and served us very well - thank you!!!

This site just reopened from a remodel and is going well. Converted bar area to a legit small sports bar atmosphere without losing the family friendly dining area. They also added a dedicated door for carry out. Food is still great. I'm a local and know much of the staff. They're dedicated folks committed to getting it right Photos are not great. I was trying to avoid capturing faces. Price on pizza is a bit high but great quality, excellent service

I ordered online, as we just finished a 5k race, paddling at the Shawnee lake. I realized I forgot to change the Gluten free pizza to have dairy free cheese and immediately called them. They said they would fix it. I ordered the natures choice (added lamb sausage) and the boyfriend ordered regular papa minskys. Can I just say... One of THE BEST pizzas I have had. I wish they were in my town. I ate the whole thing (10inch) and I am stuffed beyond! They don't skimp on toppings or cheese. I'm mad at myself for not saving some for tomorrow's lunch.

Minsky's is a casual and relaxed restaurant that we enjoy going to for our favorite pizza. We get the Gluten Free Jumbo Combo pizza that my husband (who doesn't have celiac) really likes. Their pizza is excellent and toppings are top notch. They have great servers and quick service. The only negative is that the side salad is priced too high $4.18 for the amount served. The content of the salad is fresh and tastes good but the side salad itself is tiny. Their regular sized salads are just fine though.

Jumbo Combo piece of pizza with too many onions.

I love Minsky's Shawnee, the Shawnee newly remodeled location is great. Service is always good, but I do want to comment that we ordered a Large Jumbo Combo, our normal order, to pick up, and we were really disappointed in the pizza. The problem was that it was totally saturated with onions, little tiny onion pieces just covered the whole pie. All we tasted was onion! So whoever made our pizza this time, big huge fail. We expected onion along with green pepper, but not a whole large minced onion completely covering the pie. So maybe tone it down a bit. Next time I'll order it without onions. At $28 plus dollars for a pizza, I expect excellence. The picture below show the amount of onions minus a few left on the tiny piece. Notice the difference between the green pepper vs onion. This piece actually didn't have as many as the two I ate, but I had already dumped the extra onions in the trash. Anyway, a bit much for me.

We ordered carry out around 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Everything was hot and ready within 20 minutes. I absolutely LOVE the mini pizzas. At $6.99 a pizza, you can get a really good variety, at a reasonable price. You can also customize the crust on them (many options). The honey crust is a favorite, as is the Buffalo chicken pizza. We went with deep dish crust on the bigger Cupperoni pizza, and it was a bit much. Lots of crust. But that's ok, just wasn't our personal preference. The apps were good as well. Nothing special, but good non the less. Highly recommend the mini pizzas for a good variety, honey crust, and Buffalo chicken pizza.

I ordered curbside pickup online. I was about 5 minutes away when I ordered and the website said it'd take about 20 minutes, which was no problem. I got over to the area and stopped at a convenience store to grab a 2 Liter of pop to go with the pizza I'd ordered. I arrived at the curbside about 10 minutes before my order was due to be ready. One of the servers promptly came out to get my name. I told him I knew I was pretty early. They were not busy (2pm on Saturday). Just a couple of minutes later, he brought out my wings and Large Crab Rangoon pizza. We are fans of Crab Rangoon pizzas and like to try them when we find them on offer; however, we often find that pizza places put far too much of the Chili Sauce on their pizzas for our taste. I missed the button on their website that would have allowed me to customize the toppings to request less sauce or sauce on the side. I see now where that option was available; so no blame to them. We did wish their was less sauce and their sauce is quite spicy for our taste; however, I will say that the pizza was quite tasty and probably the best or at least tied for 1st place in my book of the best Crab Rangoon pizza I've had so far. We ordered ours on thin crust. The crust is pretty flavorless, but still was a great pizza. The wings were good too. Nicely cooked and tasty. The peppercorn ranch that we chose as the dipping sauce wasn't anything spectacular but got the job done. In all, it was good food. Prepared quickly and we had friendly service.

Minsky's has solid pizza, and we order from them occasionally. They tend to offer carry out deals on Mondays, which is our most common time to order. The seasonal specials like the Oktoberfest pizza and the Minsky Joe (has barbecue from Joe's KC added) but the Oktoberfest is a little over the top, lol! It has a super rich Alfredo mustard sauce, tater tots, cheese grits, you get the point. Only complaint is that you cannot split specialty pizza styles, because apparently they will not put two types of sauce on a pizza, even after you say you don't care if they overlap a little.

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

Bay Boy is THAT Boy! I'm thrilled to have another location of Bay Boy in the Northland, which is…read moresuch an up and coming neighborhood. This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Then produce is added for freshness, think lettuce, tomato and zippy raw red onions (my personal favorite) with pickles of course! This truly is a sandwich masterpiece.

Finally made it over to Bay Boy in North Kansas City inside the Commons and yeah... I get why…read morepeople keep talking about it. It's a walk-up window, super lowkey, but the food is not playing. I got a turkey sandwich with gouda and peppers, added blueberry jam, and grabbed a bag of chips on the side. The bread is really what sets it off. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, and it actually holds everything together. The turkey and gouda were solid, peppers gave it a little bite, and that blueberry jam added just enough sweetness to balance everything out without being weird about it. I paused after the first bite because it caught me off guard in a good way. Finished the whole thing, chips and all. Simple setup, really good food, and I'll absolutely be back.
