We stopped in after a movie on a Saturday night about an hour before closing. It was a slow night. So the dining room was fairly empty. It was clean and well lit. There were 10 of us, and I'm sure the staff was thinking "oh no." However, we were treated with care and courtesy. Our menu options were explained clearly and thoughtful recommendations were given. My top 3 favorite things about this place are: 1. Service was great, and staff were so kind. 2. They make everything in house, except maybe 3 things on the menu. 3. The food was delicious! We tried the Margherita pizza and Hawaiian. Both impeccable. I just don't understand why no one recommends this place when I ask about pizza options in the area! (We've only lived here for a year.) Just ate dinner tonight at Summit Pizza and had one of the best experiences. The Spin Dip pizza and Cherry Dessert Pizza were so hot and delicious. And the crust is so crispy on the edges and soft. But I also have to really compliment the exceptional service. Our waiter was so attentive and sure to keep our drinks full, and there was a young man working in there who was the hardest working teenager I've ever seen. If you're looking for a cocktail to try, you MUST order the Passion Fruit Hurricane. Trust me, it tastes as amazing as it looks! I am always blown away by the high quality ingredients that Summit uses for all of their pizzas. Yes, their menu items are more expensive than your average pizza... but the freshness and quality is unmatched! This isn't your typical, overly-greasy pizza chain. I can definitely tell that Summit prioritizes using only the best ingredients. Personally, I love their Chicken Pesto Pizza and their Meatball Pizza. If you're vegan or gluten-free, they have plenty of delicious options for you, too. As someone who lives in St. Louis, I absolutely love Summit's STL touches incorporated in different parts of the menu. This a tasty spot for lunch, great value. $15.17 (plus tip) for a well stocked salad bar and loads of pizza choices. It you don't see the pizza you like they will make or for you and put it out on the buffet. Creamy Mac-n-cheese and a dessert pizza. Andes mints with the check too. Friendly attentive staff. 2 weeks ago, my girlfriend and I ordered pizza here, and the pizza was delicious, and the service was wonderful. On Father's Day, we decided to try the buffet and strongly regret our choice. The pizzas were old, and they kept making the same kind as the old puzzas that were left on the buffet. We ate a few pieces and left disgusted and far from satisfied along with a bill we felt was way too high for the poor quality we received.. Won't ever try their buffet again and strongly recommend that it's avoided at all costs. Just order a fresh pizza to make sure you get to eat the kind you like. This place has some very good pizza! I've been in town for about 2 weeks and have eaten here 3 times. We've had their meatball pizza all three times. Meat sauce AND meatballs, tomatoes lives, and fresh basil. It's very tasty. The crust is fairly thin and crispy, but not like a cracker. It has good flavor on its own. I loved my pizza! We went at an odd time so the place was pretty empty, but the service was still good. They had games you could play, and trivia cards on the table that were conversation starters. I also love that they had a variety of gluten free options on their menu. I saw someone say that they didn't know their pizza would have provel cheese, but it was clearly stated on the menu and you can order your pizza without it if you wish. They have great customer service and every pizza I've tried, I like! I really like their Loaded Baked Potato pizza and margherita pizza and add chicken. I love homemade ranch but I'm not a huge fan of their house ranch, I think there's too much dill in it. Other than that, it's amazing! read more

We visited during restaurant week. We ordered the salad bar pizza bar for the lunch special. The only pizzas on the pizza bar all had meat on them. There were no cheese or vegetarian options. We did request a vegetarian option. They brought out a regular veggie pizza about 25 minutes into our meal. It was not the St. Louis one. The salad bar was really good but it is difficult to mess up a salad bar. Food was ok, service subpar, we were overcharged service stated he corrected it he did not. I did contact management they didn't do much about it said they would mail a coupon for the difference. They did not. A few weeks later we visited the restaurant again to give them a second chance, there were five tables in the whole place. Service was brutal and we ordered one large pizza. Two salad bars with waters $60. Pizza had absolutely no flavor to it. Very disappointing. The LS location is great. I don't understand the difference between the two but we will not be returning. read more

Had heard alot of positive feedback on this local chain. Tried it tonight and very mixed review. Seated and were ready to leave as no one came back to offer us drinks. Apparent manager saw we were ready to leave and switched the wait staffer for our table. Didn't make a huge difference, waters never refilled and I fetched our silverware and plates. I have been to the original Summit Pizza many times in Lees Summit Mo. I go there mainly for the lunch time buffet. They have the best salad bar which is one of the main reasons I go there. I live closer to the new Independence Location and was happy there were opening one close to me. I tried the Independence Location about a month after they opened and the service was horrible. There was hardly any pizza to select from on the bar and it was not up to par with the original Lee's Summit location. I decided not to go back to the Independence location. Today I decided that since they have been opened for some time now they should have all the kinks worked out. WRONG!. First had to wait over 5 minutes for anybody to be visible and to seat you. 2nd - went to the salad bar and was third in line. They were waiting because no lettuce. Again waited about 5 minutes before they came out with more salad. They in the mean time started coming out with pizzas. but they went fast because everybody had been waiting for pizza as the pizza bar with empty when I came and became empty very fast. They was around 12:00. The people in front of me still was not moving, it was because half the items on the salad bar was empty. No peas, green peppers and other things and was still waiting for them to be refilled. What was on the salad bar was sub par, onions 3/4 of an inch wide and very large pieces. I waited a few more minutes THEN LEFT. This location is nothing like the original in Lees Summit. NEVER experienced any of these problems at that location. NO management evidently. They should have things ready for the salad bar to be put out. Will never go to the Independence location again. If a person tried the Independence location first, they would never go to another one even though Lees Summit does not have these problems. One bad location can ruin a franchise!!!!!!!!!! read more

We finally went to Summit Pizza in Independence. We gave them time to get the wrinkles out. We were looking forward to it. Talk about disappointment! Stood 3-4 minutes inside the door, waiting to be seated about 215 pm on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Not crowded. Three different employees walked by without seating us. The first Lady finally returned and seated us. When our food was delivered, more disappointment. My wife's chicken sandwich was just ok. I had the meatball sandwich on toasted bread. The meatballs were burned. Both of us had the potato wedges, which weren't done. Silverware and napkins were not offered. I finally received napkins after asking. Our ice teas had very little ice and was very weak. A second glass was offered after we were nearly finished with our meals. The decor was very uninviting and industrial.
