Mac & Mac and Cheese Pizza
Amy F.

Overall, the food was good. We opted for mozzarella sticks and they were good, but the standard you typically find anywhere. We wanted to try a fun pizza, so opted for the Mac and cheese. It was good (even better dipped in the homemade ranch) but I felt like something was missing...the bacon. I asked our server if it was supposed to have bacon (as I thought I read it on the menu) and he said it was extra. I pulled up the menu online and sure enough, it said choice of regular or jalapeño bacon. When our server came back, I mentioned this to him and he said "oh sorry, the computer gives me 3 options: regular, jalapeño or none) and I assumed it charged extra so I said none. He said he did not realize the menu said bacon was included. He proceeds to say he can request a discount since we did not receive any bacon and I said that would be nice, thanks. About 5 mins later he comes back with the boxes we requested and tells me that he cannot apply a discount and asks if he'd like me to ask his manager. At this point, I'm just frustrated so I said no and took the check and paid. Here's the summary: it's expected that severs know the menu (he admitted he did not and had been there 2 months). Also, if you say you're going to do something and we agree, do it. Don't come back and ask a second time.

Looks like I found a new hangout! Craving pizza? Looking for a cool place to take your family all right cool place to take your friends? This is the place one of my new favorites!! Our server always took care of us. Along with that our Pizza was pretty awesome. There's a lot of old school signs from my time era in the hallway that was pretty amazing to me. Come check this place out!! This place rocks!!

Monday thru Saturday lunch buffet? Sounds like fun so we gave it a try. (Adults $9.99, or $12.99 with a soda). Salad bar had decent options. Loved their homemade ranch, delicious! Impressive array of thin and regular crust pizza on the buffet. Even a dessert pizza (vanilla crumbles with icing). Pizza is highly personal, everyone has their favorite style..if like us you really like the fluffier thicker crust you may be disappointed. The thin crust is very thin -like cracker thin. The normal pizza was thicker but still had crispy edges and was probably half as thick as say pizza hut might be. Sauce was more on the tomato paste side, really thick and hearty. Toppings were plentiful and the place was doing a good amount of business so don't let me fool you, this is a great local spot, just trying to give my clear opinion and preference.

We were excited to try this place. We haven't been here since it changed names, and now we won't be again. We ordered a couple of simple items, gluten free cheese pizza, wings, and pretzel bites. They all three came out burnt, pictures included, I asked for the wings to be smothered in Buffalo, and they barely had any buffalo. The pretzel bites were literally little pieces of pretzel but burnt on one side and hard and Untasty. The pizza was also burnt and not very eatable. I noticed my drink had something floating along the top, and that didn't help. We were so disappointed as this has gone so bad as to when we were here before. I would not recommend it as the price is way high and the quality was extremely low.

"A Rose by any other Name" Summit Pizza is the latest incarnation of Waldo Pizza in Lee's Summit. Sitting in the strip mall across from St. Luke's Hospital, its location is very desirable, and has plenty of well lit parking. Not much has changed with the new name: the "party room" still has the video games, and the main dining room still has the same bar, tables, booths, and salad bar. So the biggest physical difference has been the addition of outdoor seating (picnic tables with umbrellas). The menu has not changed much either, except for the addition of some new specialty pizzas (like BBQ pizzas) and renaming of sandwiches. Their claim to fame is still their St. Louis style thin crust pizzas (very thin with "provel" cheese - as St. Louis invention I believe). They also offer thick crust and gluten free pizzas. But rebel that I am, my new favorite offering is their "Summit Hero" sandwich: Ham, bacon, salami, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, and their cheese blend served toasted on a rustic Italian bread with a side of Italian dressing. It is a great way to get past any pizza overload you may have from ordering the same thing over and over as I am want to do. Their beer menu is pretty good for a family pizza place. Even the most picky should be able to find something to satisfy their palette. As is the case for most other restaurants during our current reopening period, restaffing is taking its toll. Most of their servers appear to be much younger than before (likely not able to take advantage of the expanded unemployment payments), so not as experienced or well trained. In their defense, management is more visible in the dining room. The new sign out front also is backed up by a noticeably "cleaner" inside. I had never realized that it need cleaning up, but the new "feel" is most welcomed. On weekends it can get pretty crowded in the "party room" with private parties booked there. In fact reservations are a pretty good idea for Friday and Saturday nights. COVID-19 Considerations: Masks required when not seated. Staff wears masks. Social Distancing enforced in the main dining room. Sanitizing after each customer. Outdoor seating. Carry out, curbside and delivery available.

I love Waldo Pizza. Always have and will. However yesterday when I went with my family, it was frigid inside. We didn't take our coats off that's how cold it was! We ordered breadsticks and they came out pretty quick. Fresh, hot and delicious. Eventually our whole party arrived and we ordered pizza. I felt like it took foreverrrrrrrr to getnojr Pizza. HOWEVER: when it came out it was so good! Hot and tasty. We got a thing crust, an Alfredo pizza and a vegan pizza. The vegan at the table demolished his pizza. Overall, it was a great trip. Just freezing and a little time consuming.

My friend and I met for Happy Hour at Whole Harvest Kitchen, and we had a MARVELOUS time!…read moreOur server was Sofhia V, and she was the soul of hospitality. When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). It was a delightful meal, and we thank Sofhia, the kitchen staff, and everyone at Whole Harvest Kitchen for such a lovely time. We'll be back!!

*Wonderful Staff* *Beautiful Space*…read more*Delicious Food* What else could you want?? We visited for lunch and kept it simple - two apps and an entree. What a treat! We didn't sample, but next time I'd like to try a flight of their wellness drinks! The LETTUCE CRUNCH WRAPS (soy-glazed jicama & tofu, lentil, pickled veg, walnut, cilantro, sesame dip) were an absolute favorite. Highly recommended! The texture was very well balanced. Silky smooth butter lettuce and a delicious sauce on the side, although it truly didn't even need it. The AVOCADO TOSTADAS (blue corn tostada, guacamole, quinoa, white bean, radish, pickled red onion, super seed) were yummy, but our least favorite of the three. Instead of a thin layer of mashed avocados, I'd honestly just put a few nice slices of avocado for the bulk of it. Taste was lovely! It is a totally cold dish, fyi. The HARVEST WOK BOWL (split pea-fu, beluga lentil, farro, snap pea, greens, brown rice, daikon, cashew, ginger-scallion sauce) was completely phenomenal. I could do without the split pea-fu, but it probably added some great nutrition! The FLAVOR and texture of this dish was so so good. I can't even right now. (As my teenager would say...) Enjoy!!

Parking here can be a bit of a challenge since the stairs limited parking and is located right off of a busy Street. Staff here was absolutely friendly and I had a welcoming atmosphere upon walking in. It had a great menu with plenty of things to choose from. I settled for a wrap and a smoothie. I do believe that the Smoothie was pretty pricey for what you get for such a small cup . They offer a lot when it comes to the restaurant like coaching as well and the owner plays a great part to the the community which is awesome . Wait times were not bad at all, I really did enjoy the food here I did leave feeling very satisfied and full. Overall, I do reccomend visiting this establishment

Gigi's might just be my new little work from home hangout spot!…read more Gigi was the loveliest and you can genuinely tell that she is passionate about what she is doing. We got the protein smoothies that were on special that day with a side of healing seaweed shots. The seaweed shots were very unique and not at all what I expected, but Gigi explained what it was to us and that lead to even more of a conclusion that she knows her stuff! They have some fun products for sale and it looks like they have some small bites as well. I look forward to trying more! One note: every time I've driven by they've either looked closed or empty. Their new hours are on a piece of print out paper taped to their wall, so if they could update their hours in more places and/or have a very visible open sign, that would help! I'd also love to know if the parking in the empty lot next to them is fair game, as parking for their establishment is pretty difficult on such a busy road as Westport.

I tried Cafe Gratitude for the first time a few years ago, and I haven't stopped thinking about this place since. They provide more than just food... it's a whole EXPERIENCE. I've always been very warmly greeted at the front entrance. Sometimes while visiting, I've had a short wait. Other times are more empty, such as when there's a Chiefs game. All of the employees are extremely kind, personable, and welcoming. Service has truly never lacked for me here. You will notice right away that every menu item is an affirmation. At the top of the menu, it says, "I Am..." and each drink, appetizer, and entree is a positive word. As your food is delivered, they tell you your affirmation. For example, if I ordered the Warm Hearted bowl, they would say, "You are Warm Hearted." Even the water pitchers at each table have affirmative words on them. It's the little things like this that make Cafe Gratitude so special! Also, as you're placing your order, your server will leave your table with a "question of the day" that you can reflect upon and discuss with others. My partner and I love these prompts while we're waiting on our food. There's also a deck of special cards at each table that have additional questions for reflection! I try to order a different menu item every time I visit, so I've enjoyed a little bit of everything at this point. For appetizers, you have to try the Plentiful (chili). While I've never had anything here that I didn't love, my top favorite entrees would have to be Terrific (raw pad thai bowl), Warm Hearted (Italian polenta and squash noodles), and Whole (macrobiotic bowl). I also love Grateful, also known as their community bowl. If you need financial assistance with this bowl, you may pay a sliding scale of $3-11. If you want to contribute to someone else, you can pick an amount and set it aside for someone in need. I wish more businesses did this! During my most recent visit, I decided to try Transformed (tacos), which include sweet potatoes, black beans, guacamole-style hummus, pico de gallo, and cashew nacho cheese on organic corn tacos. They were delicious, but I'll probably stick to my bowls next time! It came with a side salad that wasn't anything super special but still full of flavor. The walls of the restaurant are covered in local art that rotates regularly and is available for purchase. The space itself is very cute and cozy. I read more about Cafe Gratitude's story on their website, and much of the interior is upcycled. For example, many of the light fixtures are made of old wine and vodka bottles. At the host stand, they have Cafe Gratitude postcards that you can write a message on, and they'll mail them out for you. The flavors of everything here is unmatched. Such unique combinations that my heart so happy. I always leave here feeling so fulfilled.
