We didn't sample, but next time I'd like to try a flight of their wellness drinks! The LETTUCE CRUNCH WRAPS (soy-glazed jicama & tofu, lentil, pickled veg, walnut, cilantro, sesame dip) were an absolute favorite. Highly recommended! The texture was very well balanced. Silky smooth butter lettuce and a delicious sauce on the side, although it truly didn't even need it. The AVOCADO TOSTADAS (blue corn tostada, guacamole, quinoa, white bean, radish, pickled red onion, super seed) were yummy, but our least favorite of the three. Instead of a thin layer of mashed avocados, I'd honestly just put a few nice slices of avocado for the bulk of it. Taste was lovely! It is a totally cold dish, fyi. The HARVEST WOK BOWL (split pea-fu, beluga lentil, farro, snap pea, greens, brown rice, daikon, cashew, ginger-scallion sauce) was completely phenomenal. My daughter and I came here from bunch before heading to MCI airport. What a treat for this Vegan. Every item on the menu is plant based and the choices were covered by three separate menus. What a TREAT!! My daughter ordered the stroganoff dish.and a lemon basil mimosa. She was very impressed with the flavor and the creamy mixed texture of the noodles mushrooms and sauce. The location has lovely windows and the space is very bright. I enjoyed the decor and plants but it did get noisy. The food was delicious and the menu was easy to read. If you like eating rainbows, Whole Harvest Kitchen is the place for you. Our server was super kind and knowledgeable, and checked up on us in a friendly way multiple times. She recommended the Mindful Chai and OH MY GOODNESS what a cup of pure deliciousness! We felt very well taken care of during our whole experience, and even got to chat with the head chef at the end of our meal! I can't recommend the Three Sisters enough - beans and squash and corn, soooo good! The Shawarma Pita was absolutely massive, and I'm glad we decided to split it. It was filled with the most incredibly seasoned and silky smooth tofu (which was local btw, and makes a HUGE difference in the texture and flavor enough to convert any tofu-avoider). The portions are also large enough and filling enough for even the most voracious of carnivores. It really is a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the vision / execution of the chef to make something this healthy taste so amazing and satisfying!! Love the warm and earthy environment. Too bad they had some water damage due to rain but usually their restaurant looks clean, trendy and beautiful. The food here is always fresh and I am not a vegan but love the food here. I feel good eating here because it's healthy and delicious! People may think it's a little pricey but I believe it's worth the value and quality of food and service. I personally love the Harvest Chop salad and Veg head Sandwich. The wellness drinks are great but my favorite is the aloe mojo! If you can't decide between drinks, I recommend getting the flight and share with a friend to decide what you like best. My father and sister had the most wonderful experience here this past Thursday. Sis is vegan, lives in San Jose. Dad is a meat-eater, a retired farmer in Northwest Missouri. They say they had the best service, front of the house and back. Dad tells us every day that the mushroom pizza was the best pizza he has ever had. This says a lot for a non-vegan. Vegan restaurant with very knowledgeable and affable staff and manager. We ate outdoors on a nice evening. There is a sound system that plays pop music. My only gripe with that is that at times, it's a bit loud. That also might be because my friend I went with is soft spoken and I'm a little hard of hearing! Everything sounded delicious and our server was super helpful and had wonderful things to say about each item. When I asked them if the dish I had my eye on was good (because they had pulled out 1 recommended dish from each section but hadn't called out the cauliflower steak I had in mind) they gave a fantastic explanation of what the taste profile would be like and how that was a great dish to try as well. Sold! Something very cool to note is that this restaurant doesn't use oil except for maybe 4 dishes, and they can optionally not prepare it with it. Even the salad dressings are oil free. Speaking for myself, I left feeling full and satiated, super healthy and not bogged down or heavy, despite finishing the dish. Both of our entrees came with a maple syrup glazed sweet potato hash (I think spiced with gochugaru) and an arugula salad with pickled daikon shaved on top. I usually do not like arugula, but it wasn't overly "arugula bitter tasting" and the lemon dressing it comes with on the side was SO good, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. My friend and I met for Happy Hour at Whole Harvest Kitchen, and we had a MARVELOUS time! Our server was Sofhia V, and she was the soul of hospitality. When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). My pulled BBQ jackfruit street tacos ($14) were served 23 minutes after I ordered at the table. The three tacos had generous amounts of jackfruit and tasty, fresh veggies on fresh tortillas - nice! The tacos came with a choice of two sides - sweet chili yams or legume power salad, with the option to get half and half. Everything was tasty and filling except the salad didn't have many legumes and needed a dressing. The dining area was clean, modern and new, with cool, techno music and a focus on cleanliness. I found the service to be professional, attentive and friendly, with a check-in from the manager. The menu included plant-based shareables, starters, salads, pizzas, a variety of entrées, kids' meals, desserts and wellness drinks. Lunch specials and a faster kitchen would be welcome improvements. Our server was friendly, knew the menu well, & gave us great recommendations. As for the food: it was delicious but it was also very pricy. This isn't a place that we're going to come to very often. The Hummus bowl and our entrees were tasty. Sides left something to be desired, especially the salad. Love that we have another Vegan option and that this one has lots of gluten free items to choose from that aren't tofu. Really the only 2 negs are the prices and that I wish the entrees came with more options for sides or that we could remove it and get a couple $ knocked off. We went for Happy Hour but didn't realize it ended at 4pm. It was still the best decision! The food & drinks were so delicious, so flavorful that I want to go back and try more. They don't use meat or eggs(?) in their menu, and it did. Not. Matter. And those are things I quite enjoy on an hourly basis. I loved the interior design a lot. I wasn't sure what to expect with the menu but we started off with the coffee which was pleasant. It was made with lions mane and Rochester Ethiopian coffee blend. Then we moved onto some brunch items. The whk Benedict stack, the breakfast plantwich, and the sourdough pancake. They were all delicious and tasted light, fresh, and clean. I really, really want to like this restaurant more than I do. They have the opportunity to knock it out of the park with a nice atmosphere and interesting menu, but I always leave hoping for a better experience. The food lacks depth. To pull the flavor out of vegan dishes you need to master seasoning, and layering of flavor. Serving cauliflower on cold hummus, on a bed of overcooked and bland kale just doesn't work. The mushroom pizza is really tasty, but the crust gets so soggy from the sauce that you can't pick it up. Don't get me wrong, the dishes could be great, but they need modifications to convince me they can do Vegan as well as a Cafe Gratitude. Service is ok, sides came out very late, so not sure the team is in sync. Host is very welcoming and upbeat. Again, if they can refine some things they would corner the Johnson County market without many high quality vegan options. read more

A real vegan restaurant in KC . If this review was only focused on the food then it would be 5 stars. The menu contains sufficient choice and the dishes we ordered were extremely flavorful. Unfortunately, there were two issues that should be addressed to get the five stars. 1) The main course was delivered to the table about 4 minutes after the appetizer, which we were still eating, was served. Our server said "oh this happens a lot." Time the courses better. 2) The two top tables are tiny, that when the table was filled with drink glasses, water glasses, appetizer plates and main course plates it was too full. My friend said the cabbage soup was only ok. The Immunity salad was delicious, just too much arugula IMO. My new favorite place! Clean, simple, delicious food. Great service. Very welcoming atmosphere. Food was also delivered by Executive Chef Bobby and we enjoyed the opportunity to chat with him a bit about the menu and our experience. It was so nice to have a date night out at a place that feels high-scale but doesn't break the bank! Our meals were both under $15 which included a main entree and two sides. We both finished every last bite of our meals and felt great afterward. (No greasy heartburn or overeating pains... which seems to be the norm in our society for a typical dining night out!) The aesthetics are simple and gorgeous. The drinks were absolutely delicious and unique each with their own distinct flavors. I think our favorite was the beet juice. Never having tried jackfruit before I was a little nervous to try the tacos but I was so glad I did. There were so many flavorful components that just came together in harmony. The avocado toast was light and refreshing. The yucca fries are worth the upcharge, best yucca fries I've ever had. Ended the meal with the coconut panna cotta and was not let down at all. We ate here today for the first time and loved everything about it. To begin with, the restaurant is impeccably clean and the staff were all very friendly. My wife ordered the Creamy Mushroom Stroganoff and I ordered the American Burger (black bean/rice/seed patty) with a side of Yucca Fries. The food hit the spot and the portions were enough for us to bring home leftovers. The thing I really like about this restaurant (and plant-based food in general) is that I was able to eat until I was full but never felt like I was bloated or that I had overindulged. The server was very attentive and never left us hanging. Some dishes are made with olive oil but the oil can be left out upon request. In my case, I asked for no oil in my burger and yucca fries and the server said "no problem at all". The food tasted fantastic. We look forward to visiting again. read more

Have had an eye on this spot for a while as my best friend is vegan and I like to give her options when we go out to eat. Finally got to go on Wednesday. I started with a lemonade, sweetened with maple, giving it a different taste. I thought it was delicious though quite expensive but they did bring me a free refill so that made up for the cost a bit. Then we decided to just share 2 pizzas we got the Panang pizza and the BBQ mushroom. I almost always order a Panang curry at a Thai restaurant so was thrilled with this choice. We thought the mushroom bbq pizza sounded good. The pizza was great. Amazing crust and the curry one was INCREDIBLE. Tastes and textures all playing off each other nicely. We didn't like the mushroom quite as much. I didn't find it as well balanced, as the sauce was quite spicy and took away from the subtler flavors in the mushroom. That said we both enjoyed it but there was a clear favorite for us both. Then we finished with the maple silken yogurt. What a light and refreshing dessert! I don't know if the tofu improved the texture, which is what the chef indicated was the purpose, but we really enjoyed it and I can appreciate the nutritional boost. As someone who would really struggle with vegetarianism, let alone veganism, I loved this place. So many flavorful options and I didn't miss my eggs or dairy (or meat), so I would definitely recommend as a great compromise for a mixed group. Lots of options looked great.
