EAT HERE!! It's awesome food and the family that runs it is so sweet! We had the mixed kabobs, house salad, rice, pita, tzatziki...and finished with their homemade gelatos. One pistachio and the other was Turkish coffee!! Let me just say this spot hits on all points. From the clean and modest dining room with only 4 tables, this unassuming gem is welcoming. The meats were juicy and flavorful. Easily the best kafta I have ever had! Steak and chicken were succulent and fresh. Nothing was dried out or over cooked. And gluten free options abound! Those gelatos were incredible and we can't wait to go back for the shawarma options, lamb, gyro, and more. They also have a surprising offering of milkshakes, tarts, and other gelatos. The family took care of us and even shared in some good natured laughs. They made our night! This is the kind of place I can't wait to get back to.
What a neat little place run by big hearted people. Stopped in today for a beef and lamb gyro and a chicken shawarma sandwich. It is all made fresh. The gyro was packed with meat, and the pita was fresh and warm. It has tzatzika sauce on the gyro and there some additional sauce on the plate. It is a big serving. We also had a chicken Sharma. It is in a wrap. The chicken was tender and the filling was good. It also had some hummus on the plate. If I could I would make one change, that being to put it on a pita - however, there is so much meat that it would not be close to fitting. Nice and enjoyable lunch out with great food.
Update: Stopped by after my mom's physical therapy--she'd been craving chicken gyro meat, and post-COVID this is basically the only spot in the greater OP area that still does it. Kudos! Chicken Gyro (no tzatziki) - Large, well-grilled pita with tomatoes. Simple and solid--this is why we came. It delivered for her--she was in a full-on food coma after. (4/5) Beef/Lamb Gyro - Enormous--one of the biggest I've had. Nice grilled crust on the pita, tasty meat. (4/5) Wish it came with diced onions, and the tomatoes were diced instead of sliced. Tzatziki is a bit thinner and slightly off from what I'm used to. But on mine, there was some on the sandwich and a side--hadn't seen that before. It actually worked well, kept the meat moist--without making it mushy--and let me add more as needed. Added sambal for heat, which helped. Kebab Platter - Mixed bag. Steak kebab was solid (medium rare), minced kebab was decent (in between), chicken was just okay. Rice was very dry--I think I noticed some sumac on top, but either way it didn't help. The salad was excellent--fresh with a lot of pop. Not something I'd order again, but if I did, I'd eat the salad with the rice and kebabs instead of starting with it. It adds the moisture and pop the rest of the plate is missing. That said, each component should stand on its own. (3/5) Overall: 4/5 Gyros carry. Salad and steak kebab were nice, but the platter didn't land. I'd stick to gyros or just do a steak kebab plate next time.
The owners were so friendly and attentive! I will definitely keep coming back to support this small business. I can tell why theyre a local favorite! The lamb chops were delicious, and you have authentic Mediterranean food, that is not americanized. I also hardly ever order desert, but that cheese cake was too good to pass up!
Quite an unassuming place. Decent food with good service. Not a bad choice for mediterranean food. The stuffed grape leaves were easily the worst part of my experience. Cold dolmas can be wonderful but not when they're essentially frozen. The grape leaves were so cold that the bed of half-wilted lettuce underneath turned into ice! Not to mention the thin, tiny size of them! Unfortunately, these were some of the worst stuffed grape leaves I've had. On the other hand, the chicken kabob wrap was excellent! I loved the pairing of the sauces as well. Great taste, nice presentation -- this item carried the experience. I definitely recommend this dish. Food: 3.5/5 Price: 4/5 Experience: 4/5
Searching for good food while here on business, this place kept coming up. Sure glad I stopped in. If I lived here I would come often. The beef kabobs were excellent, salad was dressed well. The lemon mint smoothie was so refreshing!! Of course I had to try the baklava cheesecake.... So fluffy and beautiful. Very nice staff, excellent service and food was extremely fresh. Yum!!!

This spot is a hidden gem located in a strip mall with other restaurants. This is a family owned restaurant and they do an excellent job of preparing your order and getting you out quickly.
What a cool spot to have in Leawood!!! Authentic family run business. Walk up to the counter, order, and then they bring the food out. Small restaurant has about 6 tables. Had the hummus appetizer and the beef gyro sandwich and chicken shawarma sandwich. Fresh food and quality ingredients. Least favorite dish we ordered was the "spicy salad" which is basically Mexican "pico de gallo" salsa and pita chips. Won't order that again. However the highlight of the meal was the BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE!!! This was AMAZING and something I will be craving after we leave. The cheesecake was fresh baked and the fusion of baklava and cheesecake was just perfect.
So glad we found this Mediterranean spot at 127th & Metcalf! The owners are warm and welcoming, and it shows in the food. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully balanced. The appetizer platter was perfect for sharing and gave us a great sampling of their menu. Wonderful all around. It's rare to find a place that feels both personal and consistently high quality. Definitely worth a visit, and we'll be returning soon!
FPO and I were continuing our exploration of Kansas. We spent the morning at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead and went looking for a new restaurant in the area. I Yelped Mediterranean Taste and we thought we'd give it a try. Located in Overland Park, it's in a little shopping complex discretely between Joy Wok and a coffee shop with a bison on the sign. Mediterranean Taste's sign is diagonal to the parking lot and we missed it on the first pass. When we walked in we saw a small place, four tables and a counter with desserts on the left and gelato on the right. We were greeted right away and service was friendly and very welcoming. Because we were dining in we were able to order a Hummus/Baba Ghanouj split as an appetizer. FPO got the Mix Kabob Plate ($16.99) and I splurged and got the Beef Lamb Gyro Plate ($14.99). Both had amazing flavor and was very tender, amazingly tasty. FPO also got a Lemon Mint Smoothie ($5.29) and I got a bottled Yoghurt Drink ($2.79). The smoothie was sweet and refreshing. I'd never had a yoghurt drink before and it wasn't what I'd expected. It was salty and tangy and I was pleasantly surprised to find I liked it. It went well with the meal. Then, it was time for dessert. We were initially interested in the gelato but that quickly derailed in the face of their dessert case. They have an amazing baklava cheesecake with filo dough shavings and dried rose petals ($6.99). So good we bought another slice to take out along with an assortment of baklava and a tiramisu jar. Haven't tried those yet, but I expect them to be spectacular too. All in all it was a great experience and we will absolutely go back again.

I'm from Springfield Mo and was given a suggestion from a coworker to eat here. It was great advice as the food and service were top shelf. I had the Beef and Lamb Gyro wrap on pita bread. The meat was tender along with the bread. Very tasty! The family that runs it was very kind and helpful. Glad I had a chance to experience it read more
**Lentil soup only review** I needed a quick soothing option tonight and lentil soup hits the spot! It's delicious! Don't get me wrong, but it is pretty thin and way more peppery than I expected! I did have to purchase a separate pita bread to go with it, but it was only a bit more than one dollar. Delightful owners serving their own delicious food, taking their own pictures, running their own show! I love and respect that kind of business owner! And I wish I could've tried everything on the menu! read more

Came again- for lunch today- wanted to try the sandwiches/wrap today- we got the grilled chicken wrap and the meat schawarma (beef and lamb) sandwich- both were really good! This new restaurant served up delicious food with great service during my dine-in lunch visit. My grilled chicken plate ($12.99) included rice, salad and tzatziki sauce. It was made to order and served with a smile just 12 minutes after I ordered at the counter. The salad had a delicious, tangy dressing on fresh veggies, while the chicken was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. I also tried a piece of baklava, and it was wonderful. A nice selection of desserts was available including three types of baklava, cream puffs, eclairs, harrisah, cakes, cookies, and several flavors of gelato. Very nice! read more

Hands down by far the BEST Mediterranean food I've ever ate in the Kansas City area. I stumbled across this hidden gem trying to find a quick non fast food meal in between going from one job to another. Here is the best part, it's a mom and pop shop restaurant owned by a husband and wife! They are both super sweet and nice, their warming hospitality gave off such a homey feeling. My entire experience here from start to finish was very delightful. The prices are VERY reasonable and you definitely get your bank for your buck lol hopefully I quoted that correctly lol. I decided to dine in once I was inside and ordered my food and saw it was available seating. I tried the mix plate of the kebabs, 1. Chicken, 1. Lamb and 1. Steak with rice and salad for less then $20 bucks! This is a must try and thank me later. read more

Oh my gosh this place is good! I had heard how good it was from some family members, and I am so glad I came in here today. Not only was the service incredible, but everything we ate was exceptional! I had two chicken kebabs with tzatziki sauce, plus the spicy salad. My friend and I shared the hummus appetizer. It might be the best hummus I have ever had, and the spicy salad was totally addictive. The chicken kebab was super flavorful and very tender... I cannot find one thing to complain about with this restaurant. I need to come back again soon so I can try the baklava and the homemade gelato. Run, don't walk to this place! read more
