I don't write reviews often. This place is a little hole in the wall hidden gem. I've been by it several times and never seen anyone in there and it threw me off. So I decided to give it a try today. It was perfect. I got the butter chicken which usually comes not very spicy the worker said but he added spice for me and it was perfect. The sauces were good and my colleague had the barbecue chicken sandwich combo and his was great as well. Not sure how no one comes in here, highly recommend. Oh it was quick too but if they get busy expect a wait because there was only one worker and he was working his but off. read more

Wow, incredible little gem. The pita bread was warm fresh yet had a nice crispiness to it. The sun-dried tomato hummus was amazing. Had a pita, and the meat was very tender. The fries that the fries had this extra crispiness to them that was almost addicting. It's like they've been double fried or something? Well I wouldn't recommend this place for the dining area. The seating area was cramped. My mother and I both ordered the large Greek salad and a bowl of lentil soup. The price was right: two healthy meals at $17 each, including tax. The yelp reviews were good enough to get us to try this place. The salad was okay but the bed of lettuce was nearly all white stems. The soup was bland. My advices is to not sit near the door on a cold or windy day. We got blasted by ice cold air every time someone walked in or out. The plastic spoons were maybe large enough to stir a cup of coffee, but not nearly large enough to use for our soup. On a good note, the naan bread was quite good and warm, and the guy in the kitchen was friendly. I don't think we will return. read more

Came here on a whim because there was no parking at all at 83rd and Mission Rd. for the restaurants. So I Yelp'd what was available away from this parking lot nightmare. Glad I did. It was a 5-7 drive west to 83rd & Metcalf. They have a good variety of dishes to pick from. I got the Chicken Shawarma Combo Comes with fries and I think it's a 20oz(?) drink and a side of tzatziki sauce/dip. I also got the Gyro sandwich. Both very good. Both the chicken and gyro meat were seasoned very well and both were pretty good sized. Very friendly service. I want to try the hummus, baba ghanoush, and lamb kabobs next time I go. Their whole menu looks good. If you're hankerin' for some good, filling, Mediterranean food, I highly recommend this place. read more

I loved this place. We ordered a variety of dishes, including mazzah platter, gyro platter, hummus and fried cauliflower. We all loved the dishes, but the person who ordered the mazzah platter didn't care for the falafel or Greek salad. We all enjoyed the hummus! I loved the sauce that came with the fried cauliflower. The baklava was a tad fluffier and less sticky than other versions we have had. The people at the store were very friendly! I liked the cozy atmosphere and seating. If you love fresh Mediterranean food you must check this little place out! First off the service is so friendly, the staff came out twice to check how we were enjoying our food and how we were doing! So sweet! It's a small place but looks locally owned with a lot of pride and care in their business and food. And the food is so fresh and amazing! I especially reccomemd the barbeque shawarma, it's not Kansas City style BBQ sauce barbeque, it's more of a delicious charred shawarma chicken and is so crispy light and healthy feeling. Sinbads is my favorite Mediterranean joint even as more competition crops up nearby, Sinbads continues to do their thing churning out incredible shawarmas. The meat is seasoned so well and the rice is savory and perfect. The side salad sauced so perfectly to balance the other flavors. For the longest time I was ordering extra meat on the chicken shawarma because I couldn't get enough of the already large dish. The staff has always treated me with the utmost kindness, even encouraging me to branch out and try different dishes there lol. But seriously they're such good people, I can't say enough about them. The interior has a cool style about it, featuring a reoccurring camel with sunglasses who is just too cool. It's not very large but there's usually space during lunch over the weekdays. Stopped in for an early dinner with my husband and we were both pleased with the attentive service and nice staff and the very fresh food. My husband had a gyro and a side salad and I had chicken shawarma. Their salad is very fresh with lots of vegetables. My husband said he really liked the gyro also and my chicken shawarma was flavorful and fresh. I think the thing that stands out most to me about this restaurant is the food is freshly made and quality ingredients. Food is pretty darn good, but my complaint is the unforeseen and non-communicated service charge on call in orders. I understand there may be a 3rd party charge when ordering online, but a charge for call-ins is ridiculous. I'm not sure if there is a charge if you order in person, but this puts a bad taste in peoples mouths when a charge is just thrown on a receipt. It makes the tipping process negative as well. read more

The food was amazing, and the service was outstanding! We ordered quite a bit haha the price was reasonable. I highly recommend trying the hummus and pita, falafel, and grape leaves for starters. For the main dishes, we enjoyed the lamb kabob platter and the Spicy Gyro platter. But the absolute highlight was the loaded fries--they were incredibly delicious. Being 9 months pregnant, I was really craving fries, and these hit the spot perfectly! One of the guys even surprised us with a gift, which was so thoughtful. They truly made our day. Looking for a place to eat that was different than burgers and fries but not wanting a heavy sit down meal, we searched Yelp and this came up as a favorite for many foodies. My husband was quite skeptical till we tasted the meal. Very good! We tried a sample of their fries and were blown away! They are the best fries I've ever eaten. I must have looked like a first timer stating hard at the menu lol he knew right away . I decided to go for the Spicy Gyro combo. Ya'll the fries themselves were cooked with perfection! I ate ALL of them. The Gyro had a generous amount of meat and the pita was also perfect. I loved how everything was cooked right then and fresh. THE HUMMUS WAS THE BEST HUMMUS I HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! I told the owner he needed to put those in the grocery stores , but he said he prides himself in being able to keep it for his customers. I would have given this place more stars if I could. Not only was the food amazing, the service was immaculate. I asked one of the workers for some additional bread for my daughter's kids meal and he gave me a whole sandwich for her. I was blown away! He gave me $8 worth of free food! Oh my goodness friends, I had the BEST Mediterranean meal here while visiting Kansas City. I can honestly say it was one of the best chicken salads that I've ever had in my life. It was LARGE and packed full of the tastiest/perfectly spiced chicken and loads of veggies, with feta cheese too, of course! It is very rare that I don't finish a salad and this one had me beat. And the vinaigrette dressing was to die for when paired with all of the flavors. I am SO sad that we live in Arizona because I would literally get this salad every week. I also ordered their baba ganoush on the side with pita bread and that, too, was perfection. The tzatziki that they serve with each main is also fantastic. AHH... don't walk, RUN here! Honestly, it's one of the best Mediterranean and Greek food. It's has a small menu, but everything looks delicious. I had the spicy gyro platter, well seasoned, meat was tender as well. What happened? This used to be the go to place for a gyro sandwich. 10 bucks for a lettuce and onion wrap. There was hardly any meat on the sandwich. Disappointed with this place. Saw the reviews and maybe we just got a bad order, but nothing worth bragging about, and also some order issues. Order two platters, a sandwich, and a side (grape leaves). Paid for extra meat in each platter. Arrive to pick up the order, and they tell me they're out of grape leaves. They say they tried contacting me (my phone and email were attached to the order) and I have no record of attempted contact. Fine...they offer to refund me, which I agree to - guy hands me cash for the item price but doesn't give me what I paid in tax. Ok... Get home, unpack everything, and it looks decent...until we get to the lamb sandwhich. I open it, take a big bite, and get nothing but tzatziki sauce and hummus. I deconstruct it, dig through, and find five tiny pieces of lamb...which are overcooked and very tough to chew. Appears they filled it with sauces and onions and minimal meat. Costs almost $10 and was terrible. The other entrees/platters were decent/good...but I spent an extra $4 per platter for extra meat and it feels like that serving should be what I get for the normal price. Up for debate on that. Really disappointed with what we got for $50. My baseline was Mr. Gyro and they'll continue to be my first choice. Can't say I'll be back as the value and quality aren't there. read more

Sinbad's Grill reminds me in the best possible way about the neighborhood I lived in while attending graduate school in the Pacific NW. First of all, it's located in a very nondescript strip mall off of busy Metcalf, and doesn't look like much from the outside - to me, this is always a good sign of something tasty to come. You walk inside and bright lights illuminate an illustrated menu complete with pictures to help you decide what you want to order. Below, you will find a subway style assembly line filled with fresh veggies and steaming hot meat. I was wanting something a little on the fresh side so I ordered a salad with chicken. It was a delight. The bed of salad was fresh with tomatoes, greek olives, and feta cheese generously tossed on top. The meat was well seasoned, warm, and delicious. They didn't add dressing, but I was glad because it didn't need it, and was pretty near perfect the way it was. My friend ordered falafel and watched as the staff scooped up fresh falafel mix and deep fried it right in front of her. She said it was just as good as it sounds. To top it all off you can tell this is probably a family run business, and the owner even popped his head outside while we were there to make sure we were enjoying our meal. This is a little hidden gem in Overland Park. If you want to support local and have a great meal be sure to stop in for lunch next time you're around! read more
