Cute, clean atmosphere along 87th Street in Lenexa. This place is very small. I was slightly early for lunch & there was no one else inside. I was excited they decided to return to the 87th Street corridor. I ordered to-go from the counter and the server was pleasant. They have a $8 lunch special which seems hard to pass up. I got the gyro sandwich with rice instead of fries. My first concern was when I heard the microwave start. Not positive but can't rule out this was yesterday's food. I will say the portion of meat was generous but didn't taste great. The rice had NO flavor...not even salt. Needless to say, when I crave Mediterranean I will be going across the street to Holy Land which never disappoints. I wish them luck but doubt I will return. read more

I just checked out their new location in Lenexa! We started off with the combo house platter which was so delicious. The warm fresh pita was so good. They are known for their kebabs and boy did it live up to the hype. It was nice that they provided a sheet with pictures of each combo option so you knew exactly what you were ordering. This fairly new OP location (relocated from Lenexa) offered excellent daily lunch specials, a weekend buffet, delicious food and generous portions during my dine-in lunch visit. My chicken kabob plate ($8.99) included generous portions of tasty, moist chicken and rice with naan and a small portion of hummus. I also tried the dolmeh (stuffed grape leaves) appetizer ($4.00), which was delicious. I found the service to be accommodating with a wait time of 18 minutes. Bottled water was free, which was nice, but I was not a fan of the menus without prices (must ask) and the lack of background music in the dining area. Overall, very good! read more

Amazing - food was very genuine. You could tell and not like a chain. The meat was fresh and everything you could tell had some hard into it will definitely go back and hopefully try the buffet. We stopped into this restaurant this evening to try out their food. The people who served us were nice, originally it was a young woman but she got off work so a young man took over and they were both pleasant. Our food was fresh and came out in a reasonable amount of time. My husband had the lamb shank meal and I had the combo #3 which was ground beef strip and chicken with rice and salad. My husband had the ice tea and I asked for water. They brought me a bottled water but we were glad to see on the bill that they only charged $1 for both drinks. His tea tasted like heavily chlorinated water though, so that may be the reason they gave me a bottled water?? The lamb shank was very good and tender, and the salad that came with his meal was fine. My plate which was the combo number three was good. Besides, I didn't care for the ground beef kebab, I felt like it did not have any flavor, but the chicken was excellent. Finally, the best Persian food and chef are back.. I was in serious withdrawals since his old place down the road. So glad he's back!.

We've tried this place three times so far, and unfortunately each visit has been worse than the last. The menu doesn't list any prices, so you have to ask the staff how much everything costs if you want to know in advance, which is frustrating. The koobideh kebab was especially disappointing--it tasted like anything but meat and seemed to contain a lot of breadcrumbs and additives. Definitely won't be coming back. Last Friday evening about 5:30pm we had a great meal at KC Grill & Kabob! We enjoyed the chicken kabob plate & the gyro salad. The server brought out pita bread with tasty hummus. There were no prices on the main menu so I asked for prices & she brought out a copy of the menu with prices for me. Prices were very reasonable. It was a tasty meal & and we will return! Amazing experience! I came here today and everything was excellent from start to finish. The customer service was outstanding--very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The food was also very tasty and high quality. I especially recommend the combo kebab I ordered... it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Definitely one of the best meals I've had. The Kubideh was very delicious (better than a hamburger). It's not Persian food but close enough. The Yogurt drink was in a bottle and lacked in authenticity of flavor but it was better than nothing. Overall, I'd come back because they also offer Lamb Shanks. read more

My boyfriend was sad when this spot closed in Lenexa but was delighted when I mentioned that it moved in next to Taco Naco in OP. So we decided to go tonight. For folks who enjoyed their buffet at their old location, they didn't have it tonight and I'm not sure where they'd put it in the small space. First impressions weren't great but I know culturally service expectations are not always the same, so we tried to look past it. However the place is severely lacking in ambiance and the actual service was strange. At first the young woman told us to sit anywhere only to realize that she hadn't wiped down any of the tables. We sat at one of the cleaner tables and she wiped it down and gave us our menus. Not a price in sight. We asked for water and we ordered the hummus, a beef kabob sandwich and a #3, which was a kabob combo. The hummus came out and it was DELICIOUS. And the pita was very good as well. I asked for our water again. She brought us bottles of water, which I find annoying. I like to stay hydrated so a bottle of water doesn't really work for me, plus the extra charge was a little frustrating, especially since we truly had no idea what the meal was going to cost. Our entrees came out pretty quickly. I loved my beef kabob sandwich (which was actually a pita wrap), it came with under seasoned rice and tzatziki that didn't taste much like the tzatziki I'm used to (I didn't taste garlic or lemon to speak of) but it tasted good with the wrap. My boyfriend really enjoyed his combo and was able to bring some leftovers home. I tasted the chicken and it was great. He ended up going to the counter to pay because we never saw our waitress again. He did see that his dinner was $20 (based on the posted pics) but we have no idea what anything else cost, specifically. Overall, I thought the food was pretty solid but we agreed we'd never eat in again, between the not free water, the poor ambiance and strange service. But we are definitely open to carrying out. Don't be fooled by the photos. That's the former larger nicer location. The food is as good as at the former location before COVID. We have missed it. But I was not happy there are no prices on the menu. Every dollar counts to us. The menu lists Coke Zero but they actually only have Diet Coke. They plunked pop cans on the table. We asked for glasses and got plastic solo cups. . We ordered hummus and pita, there were 3 of us. We received about 1/4 cup hummus and very little pita. Very disappointing. We all barely got a taste. The server didn't seem attentive but we could just call to her since the kitchen was close and it's a tiny place. We ordered from the menu because no buffet today but we used to love the buffet. We'll be back. Maybe. But please offer more hummus and pita for 3 people. The minuscule portion was unacceptable. And offer prices on the menu. It matters to some of us. read more

First, the lone "waiter" was friendly. Secondly, the entire experience was a single star. This isn't a restaurant but a extremely small setting that looks like a to-go window. (Don't be fooled by the online photos of a real restaurant which was their prior location). Paper plates and plastic bottled water (if you ask for it). The food was poorly prepared, most of it cold or luke warm at best and given that this is a buffet, they were out or low of three quarters of the few dishes they were supposed to have and this was at 5:30pm on a Friday night! Very disappointed with everything we tried and we love middle eastern food! Top it off with a $20 + each buffet and spent close to $50 for two of us. I'm Iranian and this is the worst food. I'm sorry to leave this review but I love Persian food and I'm very disappointed. The bread was stale and old. The onions seemed old. My order was incorrect. I specifically said over and over, put the lamb shank separate from the sabzi rice but he put the lamb shank mixed in the sabzi rice. The vegetarian option they have looks like mush. There was an eyelash or some kind of hair in the middle of my bread. I've been to Iranian restaurants all over the US and world.. this is the worst quality. The only thing I will give credit for is the front person was nice. The floor was filthy so that tells me the kitchen is not clean either. Horrible especially given the price I paid. Earlier in the day we had called and spoken to the "owner," he assures us what a great experience we would have. We get there on Friday evening, we ask if they have the lamb shank and awkwardly she says ummm no I don't think so. Then we move on to our orders. The tadig and sabzi (Which if it was supposed to be gormeh sabzi? Was just dried herbs rehydrated with no flavor what's so ever) not good at all. The tadig and gehmeh was decent. The salad shirazi tasted like Indian food. It had a flavor that definitely was not Persian at all. The oil on it tasted almost like ghee with a slight Indian spice. Not pleasant. We all ordered kabobs. They were ok. Not anything great that you would get as advertised at their previous ownership. The rice, was not good, dry, and again tasted like rice you would get at an Indian restaurant, not Persian restaurant. Persian rice is nice and fluffy. This was not. We asked for butter and we're looked at like we were strange for asking for it. She repeated it like you want butter? And we said yes we want butter which we didn't get until the meal almost ended. (a table before us asked for butter several times before us until they finally got theirs also) We asked for doughe and she didn't give us an option that they had carbonated doughe. It was all a very awkward experience. Definitely not full Persian food when you could taste Indian spice or cooking methods. Now the worst part- the bathrooms were filthy. Completely filthy. Had I seen that before we ordered, we would have left. It just showed the place had major issues with being clean. Lastly, the owner we spoke to earlier was no where. We thought we came to the wrong place and realized it was the right place. When we asked where the owner was she said he's currently not there. And then we said when will he be back, she again awkwardly said next week I guess? Just so weird! Maybe previous ownership was great and the kabob and rice was authentic. But this was not. Very unfortunate evening. We paid and didn't say anything but you could see other guest complaining that this was not authentic Persian food and were disappointed. We went with the hopes of trying the buffet per the website nightly 5:30-8:30 but they didn't have one. Looks like it runs Thur-Sun only. The atmosphere was very neat, the service was friendly but a tad slow. We started with the hummus app which was served with some of the best pita wedges I've had. The owner brought us a green sauce that had cilantro, olive oil, 3 kinds of jalapeños among many other things per the owner. It was delicious. My dinner was the gyro with rice and a side salad. Salad was very sweet which I'm not a fan of. Rice was lite, fluffy and delicious. My gyro was very good and it seemed like gyro meat that they grilled like the kabob meat. I love KC Grill & Kabob. This has become a staple for my family when everyone is in town. It's delicious & fresh Persian food. There's a lot of things I love about the character of this place, but I think it really comes down to the staff. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. I happened to come on Christmas Eve last year and they welcomed everyone to have a special evening with them regardless of backgrounds or religious beliefs. As for food, their buffet is the way to go. All you can eat falafel, hummus, Cornish hen and more. It's all wonderfully made with delicious spices. My team at work voted to take our boss here for Boss's Day lunch yesterday, and we had a GREAT experience! We had heard that the food was really, really good, and everyone was in the mood for something a little different. That, and the word around the water cooler was that the Boss himself was big on this place. Hey, what better day on the calendar to get the collective team's nose a little brown if not this one?? We walked in at the opening bell to a chock-full lunch buffet of just about every Mediterranean and Persian food I've ever heard of, and many more I haven't. A few in our party weren't familiar with literally ANYTHING on the buffet, but the collective gave everything we tried on that buffet an A+. Highlights include the four types of rice on offer, the lamb curry, the hummus and baba ganoush, the chicken and beef kabobs (of course!), and the falafel. The hit of the day from the standpoint of the two foremost Mediterranean foodies at the table was the rice pudding, which had saffron and cardamom. While it's very unique and many won't care for it, we were going BONKERS over the dynamic flavor profile, the better-than-average texture (I'm not normally one for rice pudding), and the uniqueness of the dish! Also, the ice cream we were served after our meal involved a lot of the same flavors as the rice pudding, and all-but-one of us agreed it was awesome! Service was great, even after traffic in the dining room picked up. And, pick up the place did - by the time we left just after noon, there wasn't an empty table left. Let me start with staff is really friendly but this review is for the owner and the food! First of all they do wrong advertisement, there is a big SPECIAL sign on the door stating Tuesday to Friday between 11am to 3pm all plates and sandwiches are $5.99 and I got a jooje and a soltani and paid full price ($13.99 and $19.99)! They cooked the chicken very well, the environment was very relaxing and simple at the same time, and one of the employees to apparently was the owner, offered me some tea on the house while I was waiting for my food. I think the people working there have the mindset that because customers take care of them and so they want to care for their customers too. Often, because we are Senior Citizens, we look for establishments that offer specials and/or discounts and coupons. So we are using a coupon today and trying this place. The restaurant was easy to find and parking was ample. Space inside was not....it is small and difficult to maneuver, but it does appear to have a loyal following. No sure why. Today is the 11th of September 12 pm, today is a little different, the food is great, I think this is one of these days where the employee saying ( I wish I am not working today ) a lot of attention , we all goes through these days , specially in culinary field which might not feel appreciated, but over all my visit was greet as far as the food, I really want to give them 5 but the smiles was not there and when I ask regarding Green sauce, I believe the owner told me is chutney ( which I know it is) but my question was what in this green sauce ( is it buttermilk, or milk or mayo without dairy or mayo with dairy or is it heavy cream) But I am glad and thankful for this establishment in Kansas Way to go KC Grill read more

Figured I'd leave a review for this place as I noticed a discrepancy between the prices other people have given for the buffet and what we just paid. We were charged $14.99 each for lunch buffet, we only had tap water. So either we were ripped off or the price has went up. I honestly don't know, we went Saturday afternoon. Didn't have the energy to enquire as I doubt we'd be back and were in a rush. The food was decent although not massively memorable. Not worth 14.99 before tax when compared to other similar buffet choices in the area such as Kurry Leaves. I drove all the way over here with my family after making a reservation on the 27th of May, when I arrived on the 28th of May at 6:00 unapologetically I was told that they do not offer dine-in, when I reiterated that I made a reservation I just got a shrug.
