I love this restaurant! We have lived near a Crushed Red for a year now and decided to try it out. The salads are so good! The restaurant inside was so inviting and there was a bar in there so we can have a nice date night with wine and drinks and healthy food! The staff was great at helping us decide what we wanted to get or if we could substitute our options with gluten free items. We found that it will be a regular for us to eat at. I should've known by the empty parking lot that this place was not going to be good. but, i gave it a try. for the price, the amount of food you get is crazy. For a really fancy restaurant, the price might make sense. But $13 for a small salad that tastes below par is confusing. The pizza was not horrible but again $14 for a TINY little flatbread. did not have any problems with the staff! they were quick and brought the food to our table! there was a man sleeping in the restaurant though. i'm not sure if it was an employee or someone eating in but was a little concerning for us. My wife saw this place when we were going to Brobeck's and wanted to try it. So, I grabbed lunch there yesterday for us. She got a small Cowpoke salad and I got a regular The Lou plus a bowl of chili. The service was quick and efficient. The staff was great. There is no drive through so I went inside the well appointed restaurant to order. It was very clean and well organized. My wife and I both enjoyed our salads and the chili was truly delicious!! It will be a treat, because $40+ for lunch for two is not something we'd do frequently. In fairness, I ate half my salad and half the chili, so I will have it again for lunch today, which makes the price a little more reasonable. read more

(They really call it that!! lol) Mine was fab with fresh perfect greens in a cardboard bowl with real blueberries and Craisins and some teardrop shaped cute medium heat red peppers that complimented the salad well! Fresh tasting chicken not over-nor-under on mayo. The dressing was in a container (plenty!) and had fresh ingredients. It was a garlic forward multi veggie Caesar taste. My pals ate this UP with their flatbread pizza crusts so you could say it was a hit twice! I am not a dressing user. Of course, I tasted it and it was really good but chicken salad on greens hits the spot & the pizza-eaters talked it up! The pizza was great per all three of us. I got one (1) first bite! A pleasant surprise! I was starving and I need to grab something close by my friend's place --Crushed Red was open. I walked in about 10 minutes before close and both employees working greeting me with kindness and a smile. I've worked in the industry so I know how it can be when people walk in right before close. They got my food out right away and gave great customer service. I got the make it two with the cheese pizza and healthy salad combo. A simple order, but how fresh and delicious both were. My husband and I came here for lunch today, and my review is a bit mixed. I will begin with what I liked or enjoyed, if you will. My impressions of the customer service here is spot on. They were friendly, and gave me some space to decide and offered answers to any questions that I had about the menu. I ordered the "Welcome back Cobb," cute name btw, my husband ordered the "Southwest Chicken salad," which was a good choice for the slight letdown. Here I go with the disappointment. We both ordered the Friday soup special, which was the "Shrimp chowder" to pair as a pick two with our salad. The soup was corn chowder at best. I had asked the attendant before I ordered the soup how large the shrimp were inside the chowder, and he had showed me a normal size shrimp, not the small itsy bitsy size shrimp, such as in shrimp cocktail. The shrimp must have actually been smaller than that because our shrimp chowder had none, or they must have been microscopic. I may have had one that I chewed on, and my husband wasn't sure about his bowl. As I said that he chose the right salad to go with his chowder because what we had was mostly a Southwest chowder, and not shrimp chowder. We were in the mood more a light lunch and wanted to try something new, so ended up at Crushed Red. The menu is pretty vast, and there is something for everyone. The Play Gloria salad was the star of the show, with a delicious cranberry poppyseed dressing. While the food tasted fresh and light, it was quite worth the cost. The folded flats fell apart more and more with each bite, and the bread itself splits immediately, making it difficult to work with. It is also quite expensive for what you get. read more

There's something really unique about this place that I like... There's an offering of a variety of different types of salads so you don't get bored. They also cater to a few other things and they do offer some alcoholic beverages which can pair nicely with the meal. I've always found that the Ingredients are nice and fresh, the atmosphere is never too loud, and everyone is quite accommodating service wise. My favorite part is that it's healthy but it's also very tasty which is a hard thing to find at times. Another fabulous find while driving around Kansas! Very clean establishment. Everyone was very friendly, since we didn't know what we were doing. We ordered the soup and make your own pizza. The soups were delicious! I had the Butternut squash and my significant other had the loaded potato with bacon. The seasoning in both soups was spot on! We also created are own pizza. My suggestion. I stopped in while on work related business and the name kinda captured my curiosity. I had never heard of a restaurant that only catered to making salads, so I figured they must be some pretty good salads if that is thier specialty. It's visible from the street, well lit and very easily accessible. You can't miss it and it's also near a traffic light intersection. Parking is ok, wish it were bigger. Lov the decor. I have driven past this restaurant for YEARS, and I wanted to try it but never found the opportunity. Thankfully I finally had the chance to stop in, and I was so happy I did. The menu is spectacular. Everything sounds so good it was hard to decide what to order, so I split a salad and pizza with the hubs. Both were definitely shareable, and delightfully tasty. We decided to try this location as we wanted a nice fresh salad on a crazy hot summer day. This is a "stand in line to order" then you can find a place to sit and eat-restaurant. I don't usually like standing in line too long and not knowing the menu, I feel I have to make a decision quickly. I ordered the spicy pear salad and my daughter ordered the Cobb salad. Both of us really enjoyed our salads. The spicy pear is really flavorful, but super spicy for those who don't like hot flavors. There are also pizzas and rice bowls like chipotle. Salad lovers rejoice! Just looking at the menu I was inspired. Greens are no afterthought here, they hold their own alongside flatbread and pizza. I ordered the chipotle BBQ chicken salad. Fun to watch them assemble and finely chop it right in front of you. With a side of flat bread it was a generously portioned meal that was thoroughly enjoyed. I chose it mainly as it's a play on the Alicia Keys song, but wow it was great! A little heat, a little sweet. Great crunch from the walnuts, which I'm usually not a fan of. My husband picked the butternut squash soup (he literally will not shut up about it) and a steak and gorgonzola sandwich. He loved both. The soup was perfect and although I didn't try the sandwich, it did look very good as well. For our flatbread choice, we picked the margherita. It was OK.... not the best I've had but far from the worst. It is a pesto sauce, which was fine, but the real issue was the tomatoes used. They were too large for a flatbread and ended up falling off, which was fine because they weren't adding much to the flatbread anyways. Some small sliced cherry tomatoes would've fit better, but again, a small problem that won't hinder us from returning again. 'This pear is on fire' is a yummy salad, but I'm giving this place three stars for a few reasons. Their portions are very small for the price, however, the food quality is good. The mixx is a better value for a similar product, however. Their ordering process is confusing, because you order pizza and flatbreads at the first station, and give the salad preparers your order directly. At the end, you tell another cashier everything you ordered. They bring your food to you, which is nice. Workers are friendly, but you can tell they are a bit fatigued by the ordering process as well. So good food, but not really worth the cost and lack of efficiency in getting it. read more

I've seen salad places like this that were run very well with great friendly service and lots of interaction with the creation of your meal... I've seen them, and this is not that... I believe that the ingredients were fresh and had a lot of potential. The seating was comfy and the zigzag half booths were fun. The hummus was pretty good with two types of bread. So let's talk about the counter operations. It's amazing how easy it is to be ignored. I always thought it would be difficult to stand face to face with a customer, put my head down, and just simply ignore them. 1 person in line, 4 people behind the counter doing busy work, and no one asking for the order... wow? Or wow. Or maybe Wow! Most of these assembly line salad places walk you down asking what you want in it and give you a chance to customize standard mixes. That wasn't the case. The fellow that took the order went back to heads down pulling the ingredients together and left me out of the equation. That wasn't what I expected, and certainly isn't what I'm used to from great chains in other cities like Chopt or Zupas. The resulting salads were decent. Not great. The hummus was really good.
