I was in town and staying in Overland Park. I yelped a pizza place and Dewey's came up as highly rated. It did not disappoint! I ordered to go and when I arrived there were dedicated parking spaces for pick up and all that was needed, if you paid ahead was to enter your parking space number. I was paying in person, so I went in. I was greeted immediately and took a seat at the bar. The ambiance did not feel like a pizza place but a nicer restaurant. Good lighting and more of an upscale vibe, wish I would have ordered to eat there. I got a delicious Greek Pizza. It was amazing! I neglected to take photos as I was dedicated to that Greek pizza! The pepperoni and sausage had great flavor, the veggies were crisp, and the overall balance was perfect. The crust was that ideal mix of chewy and crispy, and you can tell everything is made with quality ingredients. This place has an upgraded ambiance for aa "pizza joint", very nice modern yet cozy decor. But the real reason to go is the pizza, which is amazing. Crust is thin, light and airy--one of the best thin crusts I've ever had. There is a long menu with lots of really creative specialty pizzas. I had the Don Corleone, which was delicious. There is a pizza for everyone, and of course you can select your own favorites as well. A decent selection of local drafts are available as well. Service is friendly and timely. I have driven past this place forever and kept saying one of these days...I ended up sitting at the bar since I was dinning alone. The restaurant itself was is a large area with a bunch of booths as well as tables. It is more of a higher class pizza restaurant, one tv above the bar. I ordered a seasonal beer, there is a large beer, wine menu with a few NA beers. I ordered the Peppercorn Rance side salad which was huge!! I only ate half of it and brought the other half home. I did see someone had ordered the full size salad and it is definitely big enough to feed a few people. I ended up ordering an 11" Blue Ribbon pizza with had a good amount of toppings that all worked well with each other to make a good tasting pizza. I will have to stop back in sometime and check out more of the pizza flavors. They do offer curbside pick up for those that want to get pizza to go. read more

On entering the restaurant there is a glass enclosed area surrounding the pizza and dough making area. Ovens are nearby where the pizza baking magic happens. A half moon shaped bar is near the entrance that serves wine and draft beer. Servers seem to have a team approach to keeping the restaurant clean and tables bussed. Outdoor seating on the patio I'm sure is great in the summer but too cold for the winter. Pizza choices are unique and made fresh. Salads with your choice of many different home made unique dressing types. Pizza came out baked just right. Desserts are seasonal and homemade. Wow, excellent pizza! I came in for a yelp invitation event and was really surprised how much I enjoyed it. I just had the 11" Dewey's Original, but I loved it. The crust is excellent and not too saucy, which was perfect for me. The staff were also really friendly. I can't believe I hadn't been here before and now I can't wait to go back. read more

We ordered online twice this week. First time, we ordered a 17" half and half pizza. Being able to customize half one way and the other half another way worked well for us. Pizza was delicious. We ate the leftovers cold the next day, and it was still delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we got another pizza a few days later. This time it was a 17" Bronx Bomber. Great taste - onions, peppers and mushrooms all good. Sausage was really good. Their red sauce is delicious, and their crust is some of the best I've had. We ate the leftovers cold again. Highly recommended to me, but I'm so disappointed. Let me start by saying the service is terrific. We sat outside and it was lovely. My rating is due 100% to the gluten free pizza crust, which is not good. It's a shame, because their pizza toppings are great, tons of choices and fun combos (I got Socrate's Revenge). The crappy crust would at least be edible if they left it in the oven long enough and cut the slices all the way through. I would not return for a pizza (maybe a salad). Note to owners: your GF customers deserve better (there are other vendors who sell GF crust - ask City Barrel or Pizza 51 where they get theirs). read more

Dewey's is a great pizza. If that's all you read here, that's all you need to know. Now to get more into the nitty gritty: I hadn't heard of Dewey's until a few years ago when I helped a friend of mine move into a new house near this Dewey's location. After the move she treated everyone to the obligatory pizza and beer reward that you get when you help a friend move, and I remember really enjoying this pizza. Fast forward about two years and we found ourselves at a preschool a stone's throw away from this location, and once again Dewey's came back into our lives. Honestly I've never had a bad pizza here. It's always fresh, good crust, and great flavor. I still think some other more local options are my top pick for pizza, but Dewey's brings in tough competition and they are for sure in our regular pizza rotation nowadays. Only reason it's not five stars for me is that they don't offer delivery and honestly, with kids at home, sometimes that's what moves the needle for me on pizza orders. I'll be back though! My husband and I decided to try out this pizza restaurant while in the area. We pulled up and thought it was closed at first because no one was there. We walked in and a server told us to sit anywhere. When we first walked in we felt unwelcoming vibe from our server. During our time there, other servers came over to check on us and take plates and bring the bill and they were all pleasant. My husband ordered his own pizza and I ordered a gluten free option. We both did the "create our own" option. He chose meatballs and sausage with red sauce and I had GF crust with light red sauce and just pepperoni. The crust is NY style on the regular pizza. My husband said the meat is good quality answer good portion size but the pizza was lacking in flavor. Unfortunately, the gluten free pizza at this restaurant was terrible. The crust tastes like gluten free and cheap. The pepperoni was fine but the pizza just lacked overall flavor. I've had many gf crusts and this one was one of the worst. We loved everything about this experience! The staff was patient, knowledgeable and kind. It was our first visit and they actually cared. The manager visited with us after learning we were first timers & had skipped salad, and he brought out a sampling of their AMAZING salads (don't sleep on that option!!) Terrible. Bought a carryout Meatball pizza recently. It was 17", with a barely pink spiral of sauce, almost no cheese, few meatballs, and almost completely void of the oregano and basil that was supposed to be on it. $26 and no flavor except the dough. To the manager's credit, when I drove back over with a pic he refunded my money. I've never been impressed with Dewey's, pizza and service both average at best. Hubby and I stopped for pizza this week at Dewey's. Great crust! Plus you get to watch the guys "throwing the dough." We ordered it our way: sausage, mushrooms, & carmelized onions, with red sauce (you can choose white or pesto, too) . We liked it just fine, I would have preferred an Italian sausage, crumbled, not sliced. And more of each topping. But it was fine. The inside of the restaurant was so nice. We were a little skeptical about having dinner here as there was no other cars in the lot. But we were pleased with our meal. The salad was fresh and full of flavor. The pizza was so delicious but decided that the Southwest BBQ Chicken was our fave. You can do half and half with any combo. All of the veggie toppings on the pizza were fresh and crunchy. We went for dinner last night, relying on the 4.5 Yelp stars, and some great reviews; I have to say they were all spot on! It was Friday night, but we got seated within 10 min (had gone without a reservation). I got the candied walnut, goat cheese salad, my son had the Cesar salad; both were good! For pizza we did half and half on the 17 inch; buffalo chicken (Ryan's inferno) and the green lantern (I added chicken to it). My son made his own 13 inch with ricotta cheese, chicken, spinach and garlic! The buffalo chicken was a tad salty for me- but the other 2 were perfect! We ordered 1 pizza to go and when we went to puck it up a kind man giving us the pizza accidentally spilled the side sauce all over it in the box.
