Food was so yummy! Great for a quick, semi-light meal. Service was fast and helpful and room felt light, open and clean.

Man the Mixx has changed and not really for the best. Now the food is still great so there's that. My salad was wonderful. But what's changed? The menu has no pricing which is bizarre - you have to scan a QR code for that. Why? Maybe because it's overpriced? My salad was close to 19 dollars . They also charge you extra if you want a roll these days. C'mon the mixx I feel like this has the potential to be a five star lunch spot. I hope to see it get there over the next few years.

I have been here a few times for lunch with some coworkers, however, this visit was with my daughter on a Wednesday evening. I got the tomato soup and sweet potato fries and she made her own salad. The tomato soup was pretty bland. The sweet potatoes were just average. I had a couple of bites of my daughter's salad that was similar to a Cobb salad and again was little underwhelmed with the taste of it. The prices here are pretty expensive considering I had to pay $22 for her salad. That's likely won't come out here again due to prices and taste.

    Sandwich and pasta salad

I had never been so I was unsure of what to expect when I walked inside. The decor was super cute with the color scheme and the tables. There was open seating at tables inside or outside on a small patio area. There was ordering for sandwiches and wraps at one counter and a separate counter for salads. It was helpful having the menu posted on a big screen to help with my order. I decided to get the fried cod fish sandwich with pasta salad. The sandwich was topped high with fish and toppings and once I cut it in half, it got messy with the toppings falling out but it tasted good. It was a nice sized sandwich and I ate all of it. I tasted the pasta salad but was too full to eat that, so I put that in a to go container for later. I will say the pasta salad was just okay and I am not sure I would order that again. When ordering sandwiches, you can only choose pasta salad or chips without an up charge. Things to note, you grab napkins, utensil, to go containers, condiments, etc. from a counter if you eat inside the restaurant.

Anyone who has read any of my reviews knows salads just aren't my thing. Although I'll stand by that, if I were to choose to eat one, it'd definitely be from a place like this. They have an effective system for ordering a huge assortment of salads and sandwiches. Go one way to order items off the menu or try the other and step through their salad station where a nice chef will freshly toss your order. There are lots of preset options on the menu but substitutions and additions are just a matter of asking and you can build your own. I've never seen so many fresh toppings for a salad and my Chisaya Mama with salmon was stocked with complimentary flavors and textures. Easy for take out or enjoy the clean and modern feel of the restaurant. My mom and I spent almost $40 on two salads, but they both had an added protein and were certainly better than your average bowl of greens.

One of my go-to places to eat. The Garden of Eden salad is my favorite and the Classic Blue sandwich is also very delicious. The service is usually fast and there are usually a lot of people if you go during lunchtime, but not very noisy.

Excellent place to grab a salad, sandwich or wrap! My daughter has been here often and highly recommended the steak salad with Gorgonzola. I tried it today and loved every bite. She also grabbed a chicken wrap and was incredibly happy with it and her fries. We will be back soon to enjoy more options!

A solid place for lunch if you're looking for a nice patio! The half sandwich half soup combo is the way to go - love the pretzel sandwich with portobello mushroom! Friendly service and good food, though I probably wouldn't get the veggie wrap again as it was extremely soggy. Still a very healthy and tasty option in Leawood which I'm always grateful for!

I've aiways loved the food at The Mixx location near the Plaza, but their ordering system is weird and annoying. This location is much easier to figure out with a better entrance and layout. We got there at 11 and that's definitely the best time to come if you want quiet. When we left after 12 the place was loud and packed. I wish they still had the chicken salad sandwich on croissant, but since that's no longer on the menu, my friend ordered the Pretzel Chicken Sando, and chose the pasta salad for her side. She was very pleased. It was enough for 2, so she took some home. They have to-go containers near the self-serve drinks area. I ordered the Asian Shrimp Bowl and I'm so happy I did. Perfectly grilled shrimp, cucumbers, edamame, quinoa, and peanut sauce (not thick, but more like a dressing) on the side. FABULOUS! We will for sure go back here!

Decent option for dinner…read more I stopped by earlier this week on my first night in town, and sat at the end of the bar. The bartender served me a Guinness (on tap, of course!) and then recommended the Monday Steak Night special ($60) - a prix fixe option which included a salad plus one of four types of steak, sides, and dessert. I opted for the house salad (with sherry vinaigrette dressing), the hangar steak (he was selling it hard!), sautéed green beans, and lemon meringue pie. The house salad was superb, with delicious chunks of goat cheese! I also enjoyed the sautéed green beans, loaded with sliced almonds and fresh garlic. The hangar steak was probably the most disappointing, and solely responsible for this review not earning 5 stars. I took half of it to go along with half of the green beans. The lemon meringue pie looked delicious but I could not eat another bite, so that also went into a to-go container. Back in my hotel room that night, working late as I was jet lagged, I ate that pie. OMG! PURE HEAVEN!! And the main reason this review earned 4 stars! Will be back for the salad and green beans and pie! And some Guinness on tap, of course!!

Overpriced chicken, a stellar mushroom side, and an aggressive exit strategy…read more After some custom cocktails nearby, our famished group headed to Rye for some dinner and dessert. The space was nice and clean, but unfortunately, the service and the "famous" main course didn't quite deliver a stellar performance. Our table was split--some wanted dinner, some wanted dessert. This apparently threw our waiter into a state of deep existential confusion. The Food: I ordered their "famous" fried chicken, customizing it to three thighs (which came with homemade pickles and a fantastic ham gravy). For $24, it wasn't bad, but it's definitely not "famous" for flavor--maybe just famous for the price tag. Honestly, I could have filled up at Popeyes for a fraction of the cost. Surprisingly, the absolute star of my meal was the side of sautéed mushrooms. It came with little pearl onions, shallots, and green peas. I topped it with some of my friend's arugula to make it fancy, and it was delicious. The Service (or lack thereof): Here's where it went downhill. The dessert order became a saga. Those who ordered sweets expected them to arrive with the mains, but we had to ask several times just to get them toward the end of the meal. By the end, our waiter seemed completely frustrated with our existence. He aggressively boxed up the remaining desserts and semi-forcefully shoved the credit card machine into our faces to shuffle us out the door. Great mushrooms, aggressive math at the end. Proceed with caution.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here a few weeks ago, and had a great experience!…read more We made a reservation for a Friday evening during primetime. We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

The scampi had a generous portion of good size shrimp. The pork chop was very thick and large yet was very flavorful and tender. The pork chop came with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. However, in looking over the menu I saw they had a variety of sides. I asked if I could change me sides, which they were more than glad to do. I got the carrots and the cornbread. The carrots were delicious and there was a lot of them. The cornbread tasted good but was a little dry. Next time I would stay with the carrots but try something else. As I said the pork chop was very big and I took about half of it home. When I placed my order the waiter asked if I wanted to order a second pork chop, which I passed on. However, next time I may take him up on the offer and have an additional one to take home. All around I give it 5 stars. Also, we asked about desert. There was no desert menu nor a desert tray to help us make a decision. The waiter did rattle off the desert options, however this was kind of busy to follow. A desert menu or try would certainly go a lot further, as far as we are concerned. In summary, the food was outstanding, the service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I tend to be a bit weary of chain restaurants. I have to say though, this one had a really nice vibe and I get why people like it here. First of all, it's a nice restaurant with elevated vibes. It reminded me of places I used to go with my grandparents as a kid. It had great service, comfortable seating, and a nice menu. If anything it just feels like it caters to an older crowd - nothing wrong with that, just not my usual vibe. For brunch that day I had the migas and it was really great. Tons of food, and I easily made two meals out of my lunch. Something to note about the menus though is that they don't have a kids menu. They did share items for kids that they have on hand, but no physical menu to look at so not sure the prices or anything. Our daughter had a hamburger and she loved it so that was a win. One plus was she was able to get a side of fruit instead of fries, which was a win for her since she has declared that she only likes McDonald's french fries these days. Overall this is a nice sit restaurant with table service that has an elevated and sophisticated vibe. Likely geared towards older generations but younger folks will find plenty to enjoy here as well.
