BEST Schlotzsky's I've ever been to. In town for a soccer tournament, needing lunch break. The food was delicious but the staff and ambiance were way above par. They were so friendly and helpful. They gave us pickle spears with our sandwiches and a free sample of their new figgy jam apple sandwich (because we really wanted to try it but were hesitant to spend $10 on something we might not like). We had a wonderful experience here me and my daughter.! I got that tomato bisque soup. My daughter had the kids pizza with mac & cheese and we shared a large Cinnabon roll. The person at the register was named Alex was so very nice took his time to help me because this is my first time here was very patient and helped me with all my questions I'm sure that were dumb. They are open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Get your meal to go or have have Door Dash deliver it. However, I don't think they are ready for a pandemic. I was the only car there and it still took 15 minutes to get my meal ready. they had several people in the kitchen. so, I don't know why it took so long to get it ready. then I was reprimanded because I should have went inside instead of using the drive through. Really? no signage anywhere for that. they placed the blame on me. I don't think these guys are willing to offer top notch customer service. I usually order online and by the time I get there, I just go up to the pickup counter and my food is ready! For the price of their food compared to others fast food sandwich shops, I think their pricing is fair. Love the bogo pizzas on Wednesday's. Only thing I would mention to management is the last couple times I've gotten sourdough sandwiches, the bread was cold, thawed out, and soggy, leading me to believe the bread might not be baked daily as they advertise. Pre 2023 I had no issues with their bread. Hopefully this can be addressed and fixed because I usually would eat here 2-3 times a month, and since the couple last times I had issues with the bread I definitely have not gone as much as I used to because of the inconsistency. read more

I will start by saying that I am ONLY giving this a 5-star review at the moment because the two other times I've been here it has been great. That said, I went tonight and wow... what a disaster. I went around 6pm and business was starting to pick up and it was evident very quickly that there was NOT enough staff there. The lines and orders took forever. I ordered a turkey sandwich, beef sandwich and a side of au jus. What I received was a turkey sandwich, a... blt? I have no idea what it was and a side of tomato basil SOUP. Not even in the ballpark of what I ordered. My roommate got a pepperoni pizza which was obviously very old. The cheese on top was hard and slid off in one solid mass after the first bite. It was inedible, so it went into the trash. The items I received were actually pretty good - except for the turkey sandwich which was cold and slimy. It literally made me gag. Threw it in the trash as well. Also, the staff is not friendly. Every time I have gone, nobody has smiled or welcomed me. Very gruff staff. Should probably change that as well before the entire location goes under ;) EDIT: Well, I waited for them to respond in order to fix this and they didn't, so 1 star it is. It is very clear this location does not care about the quality of it's food nor the caliber of it's staff. A friend told us about a $7 box lunch deal Schlotzsky's was doing while we are on shut down. My husband and I decided to give it a try for lunch one day. I was extremely surprised at how much food there was for $7. The meal came with a sandwich or pizza, chips and a cookie. The sandwich was so good and I upgraded to a pretzel bun which made it even better. The cookie was okay. My husband got the pizza and was surprised at the size of the pizza. We want to try it again sometime and next time I want to try the pizza. All of the food was delicious and it was such a great price. read more

I usually only eat schlotskys when it's brought into work. I personally am not a fan of the bread so make sure you like sourdough bread. The roast beef sandwich is good, the original is ok. Stay away from the breakfast sandwiches. It includes a rubber "egg" patty. I feel the pizzas are much better than the sandwiches. Normally I have a great experience here, but tonight was not good. I was ordering in the drive-thru and I just wanted to know what was on the Smoked Turkey Sandwich. I mentioned that I would like lettuce and tomatoes, I paused, and said, "Actually, I'm not sure what comes on the sandwich," and there was a very long pause during which I got no response. So I started guessing, and finally the person on the speaker gruffly just asked me what I wanted on my sandwich. This Schlotzsky's location gives the company a bad look! We have tried this location multiple times and every time we have been more disappointed than the visit before. The food is never good. The bread tastes old, they served a cinnamon roll straight out of the "display case" even after the manager told them not to, and the ingredients are thrown unevenly onto the sandwiches. The cinnamon roll was so hard we could have cracked a tooth. The manager or owner was there when it happened and he proceeded to rip into the employee in front of everyone, it was really uncomfortable when it happened. Anyway, that was a long while ago. Tonight I ordered two pizzas, they're buy one get one free. Ugh, again the bread or so-called crust tasted old! Frankly, my Wife and I have been a customer of Schlotzsky's (The one in Olathe) since they first opened their doors. Never had much of a complaint...except for when they got rid of the Wisconsin Cheese Soup. It was my personal favorite. Other than that, the sandwiches are outstanding. I ALWAYS get the smoked turkey and my Wife gets the original. So, how did I conquer the idea of no cheese soup? I found a company online that sells Wisconsin cheese soup and I bought a couple of containers. So, when we visit, I take a thermos of soup to have with my sandwich. Problem solved! read more

When we came in no one was manning the front counter. It took several minutes before someone came up front to take the order but I'm guessing they were working short handed since the guy had a drive-thru headset on. The food was fabulous and timely. I was shopping nearby and decided to try Schlotzky's, which I'd never been in before. With a name like Schlotzky's, I expected a Jewish-flavored deli, but it really isn't. The sandwich choices are more generic. They did have a Reuben, though, which is one of my favorite sandwiches, so I tried that, along with a cup of their potato soup. The potato soup was chunky and tasty, and I almost regretted not getting a bowl instead of a cup. The Reuben was generous and tasted good, although it wasn't a traditional one. Instead of rye or marble rye, Schlotzky's Reuben is served on a large round pumpernickel bun type of bread that's toasted (not grilled, like a traditional Reuben). It was pretty good, though, and toasting is probably healthier than grilling in a lot of extra butter. I wouldn't make a special trip here, but it was decent for a chain (which is about to open a lot more stores in K.C., according to the Star) and I'd eat there again if I'm in the neighborhood. This store is on Strang Line at 122nd, a few blocks south of the big shopping area at 119th and I-35, in an area with several hotels. It's directly across the freeway from Bass Pro Shops. read more

Growing up in Texas, I have enjoyed Schlotzsky's sandwiches for most of my life. This location is very nice, and I believe I've convinced my boyfriend to make this place part of our regular going-out rotation. When we visited more than two years ago, it was sort of underwhelming. I think they redesigned the decor and lowered the prices since then, but I can't be sure. The sandwiches and pizzas are just as tasty as I remember. The way they melt that cheese into that buttered sourdough. Talk about things that make you go 'Mmm!' It wasn't crowded, but seeing as it was Saturday night I can understand wanting to go someplace fancier. I'm taking away a star because there were fruit flies/gnats in the lemon container. But hey, if you've ever been to the Burger King on Santa Fe near K-mart on a hot summer's day, trust me, you've seen much worse in the drink fountain. read more
