Cold subs are my passion, they are my weakness. I had literal mafia family who owned a butcher and "grinder" shop in Connecticut and I'd visit them as an 8 yr old to which they would stuff me full of food. This was the start of my love affair that still runs hot today. Excluding mom and pop restaurants, Jersey Mikes is by far the best of all chain restaurants. Jersey Mikes located off in Olathe was my first ever experience with the chain and forever etched it into my favorite chain for Subs! The hallmark of any great subshop is first quality meats and secondly them slice them to order. While a lot of shops now slice their own meats and cheeses, I believe Jersey Mikes was the first chain to do so (check me on that if wrong but I worked at Subway in the 90s and we didn't). With this info always in my mind, I'm always confident that no matter what Jersey Mikes I go to, it will be consistent and the way I like it, b/c I always order in person)! Next, they do bake their bread so another huge win in my book as most just proof up frozen bread which is devoid of the little touches. Finally, the owner was there and was an extremely friendly guy and genuinely excited to take my order! I admit, I'm a cold sub fiend and you can keep the hot subs (sorry Philly). I've literally had every one of their subs but I hold true to the original Italian. Every time I get mine, it's literally a salad on bread. A little bit of onion, lots of lettuce, tomatoes, a couple pickles, 2 japs, S&P, Oregano, lots of mayo, lots of oil, a bit of vinegar but I wish they had olives..... Mine is perfection, brought on by my countless visits and endless tinkering. Good thing I don't work there! My kids got the ham and swiss with just mayo. Granted they're young but I'm not going to argue with them if they're happy. As for the Xwife (sorry a slight lag in writing this) she got the turkey & cheese with mayo, lettuce and tomato. While she didn't die..... she did love the sub (sorry dark humor there). It was our go to spot for many years. Also note they used to serve pizza! That's correct, they were one of 3 pilot Jersey Mike's to serve pizza in addition to the subs. I'll be the first to admit, I thought it was pretty darn good and smart to combine the two American favorites. Alas they no longer serve pizza so you'll just have to opt for one of the many other options (my advice is Detroit style with Italian sausage, onions, tomatoes, olives). Back to the point the whole family was happy. In summary, the store is very clean and safe, while the staff are very nice. Admittedly if you've been to one Jersey Mike's you've basically been to them all. So, I'm basically here saying the say thing as a repeated record as I've lived all over the place and travel frequently. This store is on par with all other locations so shop in confidence you'll get the best sub around! read more

Despite all the advertising I've seen for Jersey Mike's it was only recently that I was able to stop in and try it, and it was just as the propaganda had prepared me for: simple, clean menu fast assembly line fresh-cut meats delicious flavors If you like subs and you haven't tried Jersey Mike's you are doing yourself a disservice. read more

I've never had a bad experience at this location until today. I went there around 3:30 or so. Not busy, 4 employees. Ordered my #13, Giant Mikes way. 3 out of 4 of them were so busy talking about how long they have worked there, if the others thought they would make it I had to get their attention to put banana peppers on it which fell on deaf ears and no oil and vinegar. Made for a dry sandwich. Way too much personal talking and not enough customer service. read more

I've been here over 100 times over the course of the last 10 years. Not 1 bad experience, the best sandwiches I've had in my entire life and does not miss. Staff whips them up efficiently, I'm in and out in time to beat the traffic. 0 structure at this place during lunch hour. Was told my order would be ready at 12:37, and was handed it nearly 30 mins later after standing around. Do not order online at this location, they make the people in lines food first, and have your order last priority. Have been coming here for a few years now but this was the last time, absolutely embarrassing for JM to have a store running so poorly like this. The employees did great, but unfortunately their managers have 0 structure to this location and don't know how to properly run a line. They should just turn off online orders if they can't handle it, so ridiculous. read more

My mobile order sandwhich was made incorrectly so I drove back to the store (10 min each way). I get it, it happens. The problem starts when I go to the counter and explain to the manager that the order is wrong. No I'm sorry. No we'll get ya fixed up. Instead - glares and "what's wrong with it". We go to jersey mikes a couple times a month and I have to say this was a pretty disappointing experience. Jerseys Mikes is a great place to get subs. They have hot and cold subs from classics to Philly steak and chickens sandwiches. You can get it the Mike's way which includes oil and vinegar based oils. Service is fast and the restaurant was clean with great service. read more

Subs are delicious especially the Italian. Jersey Mikes puts a twist on the traditional sub. So much competition yet Jersey Mikes comes out on top. The only complaint I have is they never cut the subs cleanly in two - you have to rip the subs apart because the server doesn't push through with the knife. read more

The jersey mikes in Olathe is great! I have a child with a severe dairy allergy and all the employees have been so accommodating and gracious when we ask for a clean slicer and new gloves. Overall the sandwiches are good and the service is fast. The #9 is my favorite and getting it mikes way us a requirement IMO.

Aside from having the best pickles in any sub shop ever, this particular location is amazing. We came in on a Saturday morning. I asked for a brownie. They didn't have any ready...which was OK, because, let's face it. I didn't NEED a brownie at all. A few minutes later, an employee came out from the back with...a brownie! He said this one was on them since they weren't ready earlier. So, expect friendly service, great pickles, and even better brownies! Something small, but it made my day brighter! read more

This location does not like it if you ask for gluten free bread. The person making my sub looked visibly irritated, I was asked "IS THIS A PREFERENCE?!!" and she was clearly ticked off. I shouldn't have to discuss my personal gastrointestinal health over the counter at a sub shop with people in line behind me. Apparently she wanted to know if it needed to be made on a sterile surface or where the other subs are made, but having "IS THIS A PREFERENCE " yelled at me more than once (the first time she said it I was like "what?!!") is not a very hospitable way to treat your customers. read more

Really should visit Jersey Mike's more often. The last few times it's been for fundraising opportunities. The food is always fresh and the orders are always accurate (which has been difficult for us recently). Hands down the best deli type/cheesesteak you'll get in KC. The buffalo chicken philly is delicious. I've had 2 times in 2 weeks and crave this thing. First time I had it their way with blue cheese dressing but 2nd time I ordered with ranch and extra buffalo sauce. It comes with white American, lettuce and tomato served on a great deli roll. Service was great both times with very knowledgeable and helpful employees. Their pizza looks great as well but I don't think I could ever go in and order a pizza and not the buffalo chicken philly. I received a free sub coupon via their rewards program! It was my first time so I went with their #17 Famous Philly sandwich! DELICIOUS!! My husband had the #43 Chipotle Cheese steak and he loved his as well! I ordered online and it was ready promptly (I showed up 30 minutes late and the subs were still hot!!) You're also able to order pizza at the store which was not an option online (not sure why?) but it looked good! The service was very good too! Most of the employees were young teenagers!
