My signature steak Philly ($8.09) was made to order at the counter with my choice of added veggies. It was also possible to adjust your seasoning level. I liked the fast cook time and the available Mrs. Vickers chips as a side instead of just fries. My Philly was generously sized at 9", with plenty of tasty, moist steak and veggies on a fresh bun, which did not overwhelm the sandwich. Nice! I liked the spacious, clean dining area with its good mix of booths and tables and the classic rock background music, while the service at the counter was efficient. Overall, very nice!

Chicken cheesesteak. Good, but go with the light seasoning option.

I wasn't familiar with PepperJax when I came in. It's a fast casual place like Chipotle where they make your food in an assembly line as you tell them exactly how you want your cheesesteak, nachos or salad. The line moves fast and they will suggest fries roughly 37 times. I had a chicken cheesesteak. It was pretty standard, but tasty. I enjoyed the softness of the roll. I'd go light seasoning next time because the salt content raised my blood pressure. Lots of sauces to choose from at a little self service bar. All in all, not bad, but definitely not strong enough to be considered something significantly better than fast food.

Way too salty. Not sure what happened to cause that but perhaps two cooks seasoned the same meat? There was training going on.

Nasty!! Stale bread, probably a couple weeks old and horrible chicken. Save your money.

Nothing special, your basic Philly Cheese Steak. The place is clean and the prices are right. Beats the heck out McD's for lunch.

Good food fast. They give you many more options than most Philly places. It you ask they will clean the grill. Love that.

Caveat: Ordered delivery, so expectations were lower and factored in…read more Order: Medium Italian (light mustard), medium sweet & spicy meatball Wait time: About an hour -- clearly communicated, so not holding that against them Bag showed up pretty grease-stained, some leakage inside too. Both sandwiches were in cardboard boxes -- meatball had some sauce on the container, but nothing crazy. Italian: Tasty, good amount of meat. Cut in half -- one side held up fine, the other got pretty soggy and fell apart. I also made the mistake of eating it inside-out at first (finished the bread, left with just meat), which didn't work here at all. Once I switched to eating it normally, the second half was much better and held together. Sweet & Spicy Meatball: Usually my go-to and honestly one of my favorite subs anywhere when I dine in. This time they gave me the regular meatball instead. Not a huge deal, but still a miss. The spicy version usually has that extra kick (pretty sure from their datil pepper sauce), and that was missing. Still decent overall -- came fairly warm, didn't need to reheat, just a bit on the dry side compared to what I expect. Overall: They load the sandwiches well -- plenty of meat and meatballs, which I appreciate. This probably lands closer to a 3.5 in my head, but with the wrong sandwich and some texture issues, I'll call it a 3.

And a convenient drive thru! Seasonal drinks and pastries were enjoyed - And I did love that creme brulee donut - absolutely worth the calories. The interior is bright with three walls of windows, seating is comfortable and when I went on a Wednesday at 8am was entirely empty. I have a feeling this will be a new favorite place to meet for business coffees as it is easy to find, easy to park and supporting local means a lot to me. The service was good too.
