Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I had the cajun burger w/ bacon and fries. Wife had the traditional cheeseburger and fries. Both were prepared to order and our meals came out super hot. Burgers were delicious and for sure filled us up. Fries were awesome. Walls are full of cool of movie posters and pics of famous people hence the name. Dining area was spacious and clean. Well after months of considering it I finally tried to play celebrities for their great cheesesteaks. Well here's my review of that cheesesteak. It was a 9 in sub roll with dry very dry steak on it it said mushrooms peppers and onions. I had to use a microscope to find the onions they were so few I counted about eight pieces of green pepper and maybe six mushrooms. It says it came with mayo I couldn't find any. And as far as cheese it looks like they took one slice of cheese cut it in half and stuck it on top as an afterthought. Being from the East Coast I actually know what a cheese steak should taste like and this was about as far as you can get from an East Coast cheesesteak. Very quiet place (even for lunch time during the week). The sandwiches are pretty good and the service isn't bad. I had a Philly Cheesesteak. It tasted good. The meat and veggies were cooked properly and not over done. The only thing I would change is offering Cheez Whizz. That's traditional. And I like it that way as well. Working in the area and decided to try them out. I ordered online takeout. I have to say, this Cajun burger is definitely in the top 3 of the best I've ever had. Seasoning is spot on, It's cooked perfectly, nice and juicy, bun is warm and soft, lettuce was crisp, and the cheese was melted beautifully. Also, the fries are probably in the top 5! Not a busy place while we were there, but seemed clean and well maintained. While we were eating, I watched the cook clean the grates above the grill and since he appeared to still be cooking on the grill, that bothered me. Everything was cooked really well and I enjoyed that the sandwich wasn't overly greasy or smothered in cheese. Ordered caryout online and had food in hand within 10 minutes. It was pretty good. The ingredients were all there for a great sandwich, A Cajun Philly. It was assembled odd though. Bread, then cheese, then the onions, then meat, then liberally sprinkled with cajun seasoning. Couldnt you guys mix up the meat and onions with the cajun seasoning while it was on the flat top, toss it in the bread and THEN put the cheese on top? Just an odd way to make a Philly. read more

This was our first meal at celebrity's and i have to say that I was left impressed. I had the Cajun philly and my fiancée had their "Star of the Show". My only complaint is that the Cajun seasoning was a little heavy. Other than that, they were very delicious! The Cajun fries were also pretty tasty. I loved Celebrity's when it was in Olathe years and years ago, so I thought I'd stop by this one, but it's not as good. It was fine but not delicious and I thought it was over priced. I had the mushroom swiss burger and it was pretty good. My kids had a cheeseburger, and it does say it comes with pickles and ketchup on it, and my kids likes their burgers plain so I had to order them a whole new one and just throw the other one away...so If you have picky eating kids, ask whats on the burger. read more

I have a bias here. This is one of the first dates my fiancee and I went on over 6 years ago. And I don't care that I have a bias. Don't hate. The food is always freshly made, usually fried, but still fresh. I always get the star of the show which is a philly with grilled onions, peppers, and oh so delish dripping philly beef steak. It's also clean and fast. The prices are somewhat more than you would expect at a restaurant like this. I tried Celebrity's quite a while ago and was not hugely impressed. Driving by the other day I thought I would give them another try. My experience was pretty much a carbon copy of my first visit. The lady taking orders/running the register, presumably the owner, appears to be unable to smile. She is not friendly, very business like, takes your order and moves you along. A simple hi, how are you, smile, etc. would go a long way instead of looking and acting like she hates being there. I ordered the French Dip which is the same thing I ordered on my previous trip. The beef is tender, but very lunch meat like. It does not have much flavor to it. The au jus that comes with the sandwich is loaded with flavor which helps tremendously. The bread is totally the wrong choice for a French Dip. It is more towards a hot dog bun constancy which sucks up the au jus and becomes soggy instead of like a baguette that is more porous. They have a gimmick of giving you a celebrity name that they call out when your meal is ready. The restaurant is covered in Hollywoodesque decor. It is a fun atmosphere and when they call out names people look to see who is Angelina Jolie. Overall I am not impressed with the food or service. Maybe a return visit and trying something other than the French Dip would change that, but without welcoming service, there is no need to rush back. read more

A convenient stop in the Olathe shopping megaplex near 119th and I-35. This store is off of Black Bob, opposite Half-Price Books -- a useful landmark since you can't see Celebrity's from the street. I'm always on the lookout for a great Reuben, but this was just OK. It was properly grilled, but a Reuben should have Swiss cheese and this had something else that was like slippery mozzarella or Provel. I recently had lunch here with my cousin on 6/23/12. I had never heard of this place before until I was filling up at the gas station around the corner. Upon entrance the restaurant is filled with celebrity memorabilia and your order will be named after a celebrity. Ours was Eva Longoria. My cousin had a burger, forgot which one, but I had the salmon burger meal deal which came with fries and a 20 oz drink. All of our food was FRESHLY made within 5-7 minutes of ordering. The fries were also great and they're not the mcdonalds type fries. My salmon burger was PERFECT for my taste buds. It had lots of juice and was cooked to my liking. It was definitely filling. I rarely eat out much if at all, but if I were to get something quick and delicious because of being on the run or on a tight time line or if im in Olathe again then Celebrity sidewalk café would be my choice read more

I like Celebrity's. The cheesesteaks are good, and I like the fries, although my friends don't really like them. I typically order the Star of the Show and these guys are great about customizing your order. I typically get mine made with chicken and without peppers. Personally the only drawback is that the serve Pepsi products and I'm a Coca-Cola girl but I'll still call in an order to go and drink my Coke with my order at home. When you place an order, they give you a Celebrity's name for your order and when your order is up, they'll call out "Marilyn Monroe, your order is ready". I always see this place when I go to Half Price Books, and we were in the area looking for some place we hadnt tried before. I had recently seen this place mentioned somewhere so I suggested we try it. The term cafe is kind of misleading as it's a lot of fried type foods, but I got a BLT and hubby got Philly cheese steak sandwich. They were ok. The decor is interesting. Yummers! I've been eating here since it opened I want to say at least ten years ago. The food is always hot! cooked to order. Things I order regularly: Chicken sandwiches (any of them, can't remember their clever names), cheeseburgers, and Star of the Show (Philly cheese steak) with peppers and onions. Sides of crispy french fries or cole slaw come with the Meal deal along with a drink. Refills aren't free, it's using the Honor System and proceeds go to Children's Mercy Hospital. I love a company that supports its community, especially for kids. Call in your order and be prepared to head right over, the orders come out quickly. Instead of calling a number or getting a buzzer, at the register you are given a celebrity name to identify your order. The walls are covered in movie posters, celebrity photos and record sleeves. I have driven by this place a few times and became curious about it because the name seemed a little random and it never looked busy---so I decided to read the yelp reviews. The reviews looked good enough for us to stop in. The food was good. We got a philly and a burger with a side of fries and all of it was delicious. The burger was really juicy and the cheesesteak was overflowing with meat. They don't ask for a tempurate on the burger, they just cook it all the way through, so I was suprised it was still so good since I'm a medium rare gal. Sadly, they no longer offer milkshakes...which is something i always crave when I'm in a little diner/cafe kind of place. We were also there towards the end of the night and the owner or manager was mopping literally right next to our table which was slightly annoying. Those were the only negatives.
