This review is for our experience yesterday. We were in between errand destinations and chose to get food at a place neither of us have had in over 12 years.   I truly didn't remember enjoying Schlotzsky's in the last state and town where I went there last but I most certainly did this time around! ^_^    Customer service at this location was good and comfortable for my partner and I, and once again-we coincidently chose a super slow day of business so our food was as fresh as could be.  The only sad part about it all was having to specially request no cheese on my sandwich. -__-  It bothers me every single time even though I've been needing to do this for many years now. Still sucks though. Would any of YOU give up cheese if you medically had to? lol..  Terrible!  But anyhow,   we had a lovely early dinner yesterday here and recommend it to those passing by in that area.  The style of bread was different than I was used to at deli places I suppose. Spongy, but not in an off putting sorta way. It toasted up really well, and the pastrami I got on the dark rye bread I chose was really flavorful and rich! My partner tried their ham & cheese if I'm not mistaken and he too agrees the bread caught him for surprise. He personally didn't care for how sharp the edges of his bun was while taking bites. I can see that. It didn't bother me any, but it did for him. He thought the overall flavor of both the sourdough and such was awesome though. ^_^ Next time I'll try another bread and meat combo!

Schlotzsky's has been one of my favorite sandwich places. The only thing is, they can't seem to keep one open near me since the Blue Springs location closed up, I've visited this location in Lee Summit when I'm in the area. They have the same consistent, great quality sandwiches. I decided to try the salad today, which really surprised me. It was really delicious and had lots of strawberries, nuts and lettuce. All served up with a great salad dressing and a piece of garlic toast to boot! The ladies that are working at this location, do a great job and are very friendly and get your food out to you right away. The place is clean, and there's plenty of seating. Also, you won't have any trouble parking. I'll be back again...

    Wilted lettuce, tomato. Old jalapeños

I am a regular whenever I get the craving for a Schlotzsky's sandwich. I was finally able to convince my wife she should try Schlotsky's for her 1st time. Since she's not much of a sandwich person, She found the pick 2 with salad and soup (Ceasar with loaded potato soup) and decided to try it. I love me an original deluxe, usually on sour dough with jalapeños added. I decided to try a different bread, jalapeño cheese. We ordered online for a pickup order and upon arriving 15 min after the order was placed, walked in and the food was ready. Got home and was extremely disappointed with both the sandwich and pick 2. This was probably the worst Schlotzsky's sandwich I have ever had. 1st off the bread didn't look anything like jalapeño cheddar bread, not even sourdough. After the first couple of bites, something tasted off. Checking the sandwich, it turned out it was the jalapeños that tasted old. Also, the lettuce (wilted) and tomatoes (mushy) tasted and smelled old. Ripped the sandwich apart to save the meat for making my own sandwich. My wife did not like the Ceasars dressing and the loaded potato soup was missing, well potatoes!! Sad experience for her trying Schlotzsky's for the 1st time. She said she will probably never eat there again. Cinnabon was good. Hey it's Cinnabon... Feel like a waste of almost $30.00

Not bad for a "small" sandwich!

Brand new location, second day they were open. The service was still very fast, very courteous. Of course the food was amazing! Welcome to Lees Summit, Schlotzsky's!!!

Though curiously, they do not have actual Sriracha sauce. They have some imitations, but not the real thing. All of the shelves are faced beautifully, and everything is well cared for. We have enjoyed many of the items we have purchased here and never had a problem. They have a good selection of wine, spirits, and beer, as well as groceries and other things. I would have to deduct a star because sometimes the workers are not very friendly, willing to help or, interested in improvements. One night we went there, and there was no usable toilet in the women's room, so my wife had to use the men's room. They were aware of it, and no one took any action.

The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. It's a pretty downtown location. The decor is cozy and nicely decked out for Christmas. - chairs. They spent a little extra on padded leather to save our butts. - service. They're quick and polite. - cleanliness. Now for the less good: - layout. Everything feels tight. It's prettier than it is practical. - drink quality. My daughter found her spiced chai (pictured) overly sweet. And if you look at the pic, you'll notice that they gave her basically 2/3 of a cup. That pic was taken before she took a single sip (yes, I know the straw I used to show the amount looks used; I did use it to search for a tea bag in my tea fog. See below!). My cinnamon/butterscotch tea fog was, to put it politely, unimpressive. I left it steeping at least 15 minutes because it was way too hot to drink. And then I had to get a straw to search for tea bags, because it tasted like hot foamy water and I was convinced they'd forgotten to put the tea bags in. Well, they hadn't. There was one tea bag. My standard of comparison is Gusto over by Longview, which makes the best tea fogs in town. They use two tea bags and it tastes like heaven. Whatever they served me at Whistle Stop tasted like perfumed water. So overall, I give it a 3/5. Points for location and decor and nice chairs. But the main attraction should be the drinks, and they were both kinda terrible. And there's just no excuse for serving someone 2/3 of a cup when we're paying $6 for a small drink.

As a gluten-free girlie, I'm always craving sandwiches but rarely find ones that hit the spot. Now I finally have a go-to place! I originally wanted to order online, but since I didn't want ham and the app only lets you add meats (not remove them), we went inside to order. The customer service left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed to be mostly high school kids, and one of them asked what we wanted, then seconds later started talking to a coworker and completely ignored us. We ended up having to give our order three times. At one point, a different employee asked if a sandwich already being made was mine. I asked if it was on gluten-free bread, and when he said no, I told him it wasn't mine and had to re-order again. There also seemed to be confusion about removing ham and just replacing it with extra turkey. My boyfriend had a similar experience ordering his sandwich. Despite the chaotic ordering experience, the sandwich was delicious, and I'll definitely be back. Next time, I'll probably just order ahead and remove the ham myself to save the hassle.
