The parking lot is... interesting, but there's generally more than enough spots. The drive thru is tightly wrapped by the street, but is easy enough to get into. The decor is perfectly average. There's nothing eye popping, except for the old original pricing on some boards in the back. The food itself, from the namesake burgers to the tenderloin sandwiches to the fries and onion rings; everything is just good and priced well. It's not Culver's level elite, but it's a nice step up from the McDonald's of the world. It comes out hot and is always right. The staff is always friendly and they move quickly. So if you're in the neighborhood and need a quick lunch or dinner, it's worth stopping in.

They continued that uniqueness by using Velveeta instead of American cheese. Strangely enough though, it only added to this old burger joint's charm. This ground meat and Velveeta burger knows what it is and is happy with that. And while I didn't love their own in-house root beer, the fries were decent crinkle cut and the rest of the experience was good enough that I definitely see myself coming back again. An inside walk up counter without any seating on the premises, is one of the reasons my visits have been infrequent over the past 35 years. This past Saturday i did stop in and order a tenderloin, since i am in the middle of "Ralphie's Tenderloin Tour" with 12 tenderloins under my belt (figuratively and literally) in the past month. Unfortunately their breaded pork tenderloin is mass produced and frozen, so it did not make it close to the top tier in my rankings, but for what it is ...it ain't bad. I did like that they put plenty of veggie toppings and their burger sauce on it for maximum taste. I'll probably stick with the burgers on all future visits. 3.5 stars for the tendy... 5 stars for the burgers, rings, cyclones, variety and value of the menu, and of course the decades of nostalgia and fond memories.

The dinky things I got were BONELESS wings, which - let's face it - are really just chicken nuggets. When I got home I saw they'd only given me one order of plain wings. The other was soaked in a spicy orange sauce, which I definitely didn't ask for. Spicy things blister my mouth, so they were wasted. And they only gave me a single dipping sauce with two orders of wings. Absolutely not going back.
