    Cheese Whiz burger

A classic and simple old school drive in. There's no outdoor seating and a carhop walks up to your window to take your order. The menu consists of mainly fried food (that isn't healthy), but has such a nostalgic taste! The food is inexpensive and delivered hot and very quickly. Try the cheese whiz burger (I know, I know. It probably doesn't sound good, but it actually is!) Make sure you try the homemade root beer severed in a frosted mug! (You can even purchase a gallon to take home!)

this place not only has great food, but today, when we got home with our food, someone not only labeled the items, but also added a smiley face! Loved that!! It was a nice little something that brightened our day!

During the Covid 19 crisis it is a fine line of staying responsible for your own safety and that of the community and also trying to support the independent merchants. Like most, I have reduced my gathering of food to only drive-thru's, delivery or curbside. Mug's Up has been the grandfather of curbside social distancing for decades. After pulling in the lot and reviewing one of the multiple menu boards, you wait or honk and a server will come and take your order. A perfect option for these times. The Wiz burger is a local institution consisting of loose seasoned ground beef, onions, mustard, pickles and cheese whiz. Old school guilty pleasure deliciousness. The tots are hot and crispy and the Black Cows made with home made root beer are worth the trip in itself. The Root Beer was flat on my visit today so I tried the Orangaroo - Orange soda and vanilla ice cream. I wish I lived closer.

My frito chili pie was good, but if you don't like loose meat burgers, I wouldn't recommend.

I have tried to eat here on multiple occasions and it's always closed for various reasons. I quit, not trying anymore.

No utensils were provided so we found them ourselves, dirty plates were not taken from the table until we started bussing the table ourselves, it sounded like the kitchen and wait staff were having a party in the kitchen and at one point we were the only table in the restaurant but still no attention from the staff. We definitely will not return and hope others don't have the same experience.

The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it! We really enjoyed our meals, and especially the selection of vegetarian combos for our consummate vegetarian. On the table is an ad for desserts that looked so amazing that we had to try one. We chose the strawberry/blueberry cheesecake... well here is where it gets a little interesting. We wrangled another server, because ours was at the bar...? She went to a case up front and said she had two cheesecakes left. Well, we asked for both of them! We were definitely catfished by the picture on the table, because the desert looked nothing like it. It was a square piece of cheesecake a small scoop of cherries and whipped cream... the picture is a fancy bake molded cheesecake with a heaping pile of strawberries and blueberries. The dessert was not bad, but it was not what was pictured. We laughed. We ate it. We were underwhelmed. lol!

Tonight, we ate at 8PM on a Friday. Our party of five of was seated earlier than predicted so that was a plus. When we were seated, we could hear another table complaining about the service and food so I should have trusted my gut and left then. The server came and took our drink orders. About 10 minutes later, a large party of 13 sat by us. He delivered our drinks and left. We didn't see him again (anywhere in the restaurant) for another 20 minutes. He then took all of our food orders. Approximately 20 minutes later, he appeared again and we asked for refills and the appetizers. He said, "Oh no. I had a large party seated and completely forgot about that". Within five he appeared with the appetizers, chips and salsa, and the salad". Our drinks sat empty for nearly 45 minutes! Finally, the sweetest young woman appeared and delivered our food. My Mac and cheese was so cold that there were clumps of cold cheese starting to harden with the liquid. One of our orders didn't even come and she said, "I think he left off someone's order because this is all that was up there". I then asked for a refill as everyone by now was empty. She took our drink orders and went to fix the food order. She brought back the wrong drinks and apologized immensely. She then fixed the drinks and said she'd check on the food. Mind you, we still have not seen our server! The whole table was finished eating and asked for boxes and the one order STILL had not shown up. Finally, 25 minutes later, the food showed up with a replacement (and warmer) Mac and cheese. While we waited for the last party to at least get a few bites down, lo and behold, the server appears. He proceeds to give a list of reasons why he wasn't attentive and messed up the order. When you're unhappy hearing excuses is the last thing you want to hear. That conversation should have occurred with the manager at the table apologizing. Instead, we got an inexperienced server that had been there for two weeks and clearly needs more training. When then looked at the bill, we were charged for the late order at the regular price not the 3 for me price and then we ordered a kids meal and was charged for a regular drink. When I questioned the server on this he replied, "I thought the child wouldn't want to drink out of a child cup so I brought a big drink". not his decision to make, that would be mine. I then states, "he's human and makes mistakes sometimes". He then said he'd have his manager fix it and would comp the messed up meal. We get the new bill and the drink is fixed and the meal is there. By now, I'm pissed. I ask for the manager. She proceeds to say in a condescending tone, "Well, You got your food and it's not free". What she could have said was we changed our policies and we no longer comp meals completely and what we offer now is a discounted price. Instead, she proceeds to try and justify the poor service. By far and away, the worst experience ever at this Chili's which ruins all the good experiences we've ever had there. Whomever you manager was at 9:30PM on Friday night, that young woman needs training in customer retention, service recovery, and crucial conversations. It will be quite some time before we step foot in that establishment. PLEASE train your employees!
