We love Tavern 24. It's really a great environment to have a good time. It's always clean, they have a great variety of musical acts and the food is absolutely amazing. However it is really the wait staff that truly makes this a place to come back to routinely. Selena the bar tender is so thoughtful and friendly and she knows how to keep a fresh drink in your hand. Such a great place! read more

Amazing food Great service Got to watch the game and play pool It's usually pretty busy late afternoon and early evening Can get really loud But honestly, the food was amazing. I cannot say that enough. read more

Great food, great service! I like the location, the taste of the food and large portions of food and live music on weekends!

Delicious sandwiches and good desert options. Idk why they have so many negative reviews but this is good stuff. A great place to eat in Independence read more

Nothing really stood out, mizzou football game was on. Boarder wars was on, good cold beer. Didn't try the food service cause had already ate. Live band was setting up, didn't stay to hear them. Kinda out there in independence. Roomy area , easy access for folks with disabilities. Will return maybe hungry next time to check out kitchen staff. read more

The food is really good. The servers are really nice Adrian and Gabi. We're so sweet and so kind and my burger that I had was phenomenal from the cooks in the back whatever they have gone back there. They are really good at what they do read more

Tavern 24 - Double smash burger with pepper, jack cheese, and Cajun style fries - Bars Near Me - Independence, Missouri

The service was absolutely horrible. The place was so disgusting we left after seeing cockroaches not only in the ladies bathroom but crayon the bar. I said something to the bartender and she just blew it off like it was no big deal. Then a cook or someone came out and was rude to us about the cockroach I think his name was Kaleb. He was a short guy that was just as rude to our party. I've called several times to speak to the owner and every time I've been told he's not there. So who's run tavern 24 if the owner is never available? The staff at tavern was so horrible we will NEVER RETURN! read more

The food was delicious. The only issue we had was that the tea we had tasted like water. If I ate from here again it would be takeout.

This place needs a bouncer, drunk a holes wandering around harassing patrons! Food is the average bar food, the staff is slow and don't seem to care too much. We've tried this place a handful of times, something bad happens every time. AVOID AVOID AVOID read more

first, this place is a bar first, over a restaurant. even that being the case, service sucked, the waitress looked lost and confused, me and my wife took our kids, was not even busy, maybe 3 tables had people including us and a few at the bar. smelled good though, we sat there for 30 mins with our kids starting at each other, the waitress comes out looking lost with another tables food, sees us then goes to the back, then a older couple walked in and sat down, they waited 15 min, after our long wait the waitress skips up then goes to take the older couples order. absolutely trash service, talked to some friends of ours and they all say the same thing, but if your looking for a pool hall or place to get hammered I'm sure it a good joint read more

In Tavern 24, I found a solid bar and restaurant in an underserved area. Located in the Susquehanna Strip Mall, this menu has a good collection of bar food paired with plenty of TVs for watching sports and cold beers. On my visit, I tried the Patty Melt, White Cheddar Mac, and the Nuggs. The Patty Melt was such a big sandwich with a hand pattied burger, thick cut sourdough bread, grilled onions, and an amazing melty blend of American and Swiss Cheeses. It was a good sandwich and very filling but a little under-griddled for my taste. Would be better pressed or if griddled a bit longer. Other than that, great burger. The Mac was hot and soupy in a warm crock with a nicely baked top. A solid Mac & cheese. The Nuggs are like half a chicken tender each. With a large of variety of sauces, these are very good. The Vampire Sauce, a blend of garlic Parmesan and Buffalo, actually works. The homemade blue cheese was nice but hard to dip because of the blue cheese chunks. Needs more dressing, less cheese. Would love to try more of their sauces! My server at the bar was solid and friendly. Overall, I would be happy to return here. It seems like a good bar with good bar food. read more

Don't order delivery at Tavern 24. The bartenders have it out for delivery drivers so I don't recommend ordering delivery from this restaurant. You're cold will sit and get cold on the counter before they will decide to hand it over to the delivery driver that's been waiting for 30 minutes for the order that has been sitting on the counter for 30 minutes. Yes this order was complete and getting cold on the counter because the bartender thought it would reflect on me! That's not how anyone should be towards a customer. The owner Sarah has done this, and Jason was right there watching it happen. read more

Ordered a tenderloin and onion rings for takeout and it went to the trash...Tenderloin was over cooked and onion rings were almost black. i'm assuming the grease needs changed...They looked nothing like the website shows...Anti take out from now on...Wasn't fit to consume. Very disappointed and a waste of money...Won't be ordering again.. read more

Do not recommend this place. The owner is rude and the food sucks. Service is terrible I was waiting at least 15-20 minutes before ANYONE even acknowledged me even though they managed to take people's orders that were around me and came in AFTER ME. THE WAITRESS NEVER CAME TO CHECK ON ME AND I WAS TRYING TO ORDER FOOD!!!!!! WILL NEVER WASTE MY TIME NOR FUNDS HERE!!!!! read more

Had a pick up order, Grandson wanted wings. Got back home. Discovered the wings ALL of them were burnt to a charcoal crisp on one side. I recommend, OPENING AND CHECKING FOOD ORDERS, before leaving! Never again. read more

We went for brunch on this Sunday. we showed up after the Chiefs game was over about noon. The place was fairly empty but service was so slow. We had The WORST food I have ever had. I got the country breakfast. The eggs were over cooked and rubbery, the gravy was cold, biscuits hard and for potatoes they substituted tater tots even in the corned beef hash! The hash was burnt too. NEVER AGAIN! my dog would not have eaten this food. read more

Well, it's a decent enough place to hang out out. It's clean and the seating is okay. But if you get deep fried food that is not a good choice I had some onion rings there a few days ago and they were cold and limp. Like maybe there were someone else's order that they didn't want.. And they had a dark brown colour to the onion rings which means only one thing to me because I've worked in the restaurant business at least a third of my life and I'm 65 years old What discolouration tells me is they don't very often change the cooking oil so it rings a bad taste and a greasy taste. And depending on the person you get to wait on you the service may even be okay if they're not too busy visiting with their friends to come and get your order. I ordered a pepperoni pizza there once and I don't know how they did it but the outer rim of the pizza crust was kind of overcooked but the centre of the pizza was kind of raw. I'm thinking he was up too high for the pizza so it cooked the outer edges quicker than the Center, Yum Yum. So like I said, it's an okay place to hang out. The food is suspect. read more

I had a lunch meeting at the new Tavern 24 and opted to try a burger. It did not disappoint. In fact, I was not expecting it to be amazingly good. The combination of flavors in this burger is one of the best I've ever had. The thick juicy 1/2 lb blackened angus beef combined with the fried jalapenos, smoked bacon, pico de gallo, chipotle ranch, cotija and pepper jack cheese was something to brag about. The owners here are putting out some quality eats. We will definitely be back. read more

We arrived at 11:15am did not get our food until 1pm. Had we not had a large group, we would have left. My winger came in a literally bowl of grease. It was disgusting $15 for fried garlic chicken soup. I couldn't eat it. I was offered no refills. My niece is diabetic and became shakes waiting so long for food. Every table that came in after us got their food before us. We will never eat here again. read more

We've wanted to try the wings forever and since this is Valentine's Day we ordered take out. The service was not good and they will not accommodate what people ask for. They are getting paid either way so why can't we get half of one sauce and half of another? Also, they are always understaffed for big events. Love that this is so close and love the food we have had but to last in this economy they need to get their shit together read more

This place is brand new and is a refreshing place to go in this area. The food is amazing. It is a bar with AWESOME food. No "bar" food here. So please realize, you will wait for your food because it is all made fresh when ordered. The pool tables are new and you can tell the owners take pride in their place. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

Wow! The Burgers are awesome! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a great burger this is the place!

I really wish I could give this place a higher rating. The food is actually pretty darn good and the servers are friendly. Their downfall is in the speed of their service. If you eat here prepare to wait anywhere from 25-55 minutes for your food. Also, when your drink goes empty it will be a long time before you can get a refill. Each time I have dined here the wait just got longer. If they could figure out these kinks or at least communicate with their customers when something happens extending the length of service I would be happy to give it another try. read more

Went in for dinner and a few drinks early Saturday evening. Place was packed. After waiting around for about 30 minutes we were able to get a table. Drinks were great and food was even better! I had a pork tenderloin and my significant other had a club sandwich. Club sandwich was delicious & the tenderloin was best I have had. After 8 they had live music. If you have not been in I do recommend. read more

Much better than the last time. Had the oversized tater tots and dish and chips. Came out hot as the sun and tasty. Service fine. Had not been here in like two years. read more

This place is laughable! We waited for an hour for our food and there were only 6 people in the entire place. Tables of 8 got their food before our 2 at the bar. The bartender said they messed up the sandwich after 30 injures of waiting...Please don't go here!! Their menu said all day Happy Hour and they didn't honor that. read more

Amazing wings. Some of the best wings I've had. Great place to watch the game and have a few.

This place has a sign saying we must wear our mask to come in. You come in with no staff wearing them. We asked why they weren't and the waitress/bartender said that they are required to but that they just didn't want to. We looked around and the other front of the house staff also were not wearing them. They proceeded to laugh at us as we walked out of the restaurant for being upset over the situation. My husband went back in for more clarification and th staff was having a good old time at our expense. Not a good look for a new restaurant. It was better when it was an abandoned blockbuster. read more

If you enjoy your hearing do not go here. Recently some friends and I met here to watch a football game. Service was ok at best but the biggest problem was the noise. Six of us at a table and we literally had to yell at each other to get over the volume of the Televisions. At one point I went as far as to download a decibel meter on my phone and it was averaging 81 decibels! Maybe it wasn't so loud at the bar itself but who knows. read more

Being from independence and having a buddy who works here I want to give a good rating. The food is good. But the service is terrible. I've managed bar and grills for ten years including owning my own. Yesterday my buddy and I walked in got a table. Stood around for a minute, then decided to play pool while we waited for our server to greet us. We were there for over 25 minutes not even one person greeted us, let alone got a drink order menus nothing. In the final three minutes we were there a couple walked in sat down, within a few minutes they had menus and had been greeted. Not sure if we were singled out or not. But I left and dont plan on coming back now. Since I've gotten a response let me be clear about something. Both servers on the floor stared directly at us. Multiple times. Twice while they were standing at another table not even 15 feet from us. And still never acknowledged us at all. Even after multiple times making complete eye contact. Then legit serving another group that had walked in about 20 mind after we had already been there. I understand trials and tribulations. But c'mon now. Look at how you respond to people at the owner. One thing I learned in the industry is to never publicly talk down to any customers. Regardless of accusations. Especially since I'm assuming since you weren't the one who took care of it last night. You weren't there , so how would you know that so certainly that you would talk to a customer like that. Terrible ownership and professionalism. Any chance I had of returning is gone, and I'm sure the lady you spoke like won't be back and neither will her entire group. See how many people talk about slow service? You're how many months into being open?? But yeah everyone's a liar. Get your shit together. read more

Sat down got a brew no problem... waitress never came back to take my order, had to flag down another one who said she would tell mine to come over.... She never did ... too busy looking at her phone ... so flagged another one who did take my order....a pizza... half step above a 99 cent frozen pizza... serious buy one yourself you'll see... girl came out said here's your pizza ... no silverware , no napkins... nothin .. god forbid I wanted chez, salt , pepper... so I walked up and got some cocktail napkins... ate the thing because I was starving...there, that's my experience ... told the bartender it would of been nice to have a fork or napkin... not much concerned response... so I still left a 5 dollar tip because I'm not a chump... took my wallet full of hundred dollar bills and split.... Won't be breaking any of my hundreds there ... ever. I Realize noone there cares ... about as much as I care if I ever step foot in there again. read more

Tavern 24 is such a great opportunity to establish a new restaurant in the area and earn a ton of profit. Unfortunately, the mismanaged operations are driving people away. They ran out of food during their grand opening on March 20th. However, they've been receiving positive reviews three weeks prior to their opening date. Please keep in mind these skew the restaurants overall rating and misleads customers to expecting a positive experience. Prices aren't listed on the website; I've provided photos of the menu. Walking in, there's no clear direction on where to go or what to do. We simply found an open table and waited. The waitress was initially quite friendly and talkative, we ordered an appetizer that took an hour to receive. As a recently opened restaurant longer wait times are anticipated, but should still be acknowledged. It would've been nice to know they ran out of food, instead of discovering it on our own. Build those customer relationships now to have repeat customers. The waitress never came back to offer a drink refill or take our meal order. There's no table system linked with the POS, the food runner (not waitress) simply walked around asking "Did you order this?". After the hour wait on receiving the appetizer, two other plates of what we ordered came out. Again, the food runner walked around asking the surrounding tables if they ordered it. None of which ordered that appetizer, just us. An hour wait- for triple the work? Tavern 24 has vast profit potential once operations are streamlined and properly functioning. During our one in a half hours at Tavern 24, we saw five employees in total for around seventy patrons. Hopefully management can forecast properly moving forward to avoid the staffing and food shortages they've been experiencing. Lastly the outdoor patio is smoking friendly. As a nonsmoker it is off putting for me, but if you're a smoker be sure to give it a try. There are multiple food options and plenty to do like pool, darts, a music juke box, and televisions. Be sure to give them an opportunity if you've got a few hours to give. read more
