Fun dive bar close to Kauffman Stadium. I came in after a Royals game for a quick bite to eat and…read morewas welcomed right away. Lots of folks here tonight for a Monday. Score has pool tables and darts which seemed popular. They also had karaoke going on which always seems to draw a crowd. The kitchen was open late and I was starving so I ordered a steak salad, definitely recommend as it was cooked to order with a nice amount steak on top. Prices were on par with sports bar prices. The bartender was very friendly and encouraged me to go up and sing. After some liquid courage I got up the nerve to sing a sing. The karaoke host was cool and welcoming too. Score was a great score indeed!

There's pool tables and I may have seen ski-ball. I didn't know it was there. If you try to find it, it's across the highway from Dixons Chili. It's best to go the back way on 35th St. or 40 highway and turn right at Family Dollar. My friend and I ordered fried corn ( like fried mushrooms). They were so delicious I forgot to photograph. I really need to return for fried chicken though. The service was top notch and the seats comfortable. There's classic rock facts rolling across the tv. This place would be fun for a Chief's game.

No complaints, but nothing to write home about either. We took an entire basketball team of…read moreteenagers (plus dads) and the wait staff did a good job serving us. The food took a loooong time to arrive, but it was a pretty big group, so that's not totally unexpected. I ordered the Cheesesteak Dip, which arrived open face and looked large until I folded the sandwich for eating and realized the odd arrangement may be to hide the actual amount of meat, which was lacking. It was delivered on a hoagie, but not a good hoagie. One that you'd get in a 6-pack at the local Thrifty Mart. My boys both enjoyed their meals and there were plenty of TVs to watch various sporting events on. So, like I said: no complaints

Luckily, Saints came through like a holiday hero. Even on a quiet Thanksgiving stop-in, the place felt welcoming and relaxed. The staff seemed to immediately understand that I was one hunger pang away from giving a heartfelt Oscar speech about food. Drinks arrived fast, perfectly chilled, and honestly felt like the first step in my emotional recovery. When the food hit the table, it was exactly what an empty-stomach wanderer dreams about--hot, hearty and flavorful. Every bite felt like someone whispering, "You're gonna make it, buddy." Whether it was the seasoning, the freshness, or my Thanksgiving-level starvation, everything tasted phenomenal. Saints Pub didn't just serve me a meal--they rescued me from a very dramatic holiday meltdown. If you ever find yourself hungry, tired, or simply in need of a good meal in Independence, Saints has your back.
