Turkey and Ham Club on white bread with fries

I ordered a turkey and ham club with fries and they were delicious. Homemade bread. Pastries, cookies and ice cream too. The staff is very friendly and excellent service! The restaurant reminds me of yesteryear. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a sandwich, burger or ice cream.

What a great little deli! Absolutely loved the varieties the my offer. Breakfast lunch and tons of wonder pastries made fresh. I grabbed a cookie and a chicken salad wrap with grapes. It was super fresh and tasty. The price pt was also good. I'll be coming back soon. They even had fresh scooped ice cream

This review is for the awesome lunch experience I had on Saturday-February 4th. ^__^ So, this doesn't happen to me very often lol, but I failed being prepared with some sort of meal-prep for my work day that day. When the time came, I decided to quick-search online what local sandwich shops were available not far from my work's location and discovered this cute, little place I've never heard of before. My first experience there I tried their corned beef sandwich with white bread, mayo, mustard, tomato and lettuce, and MAN-that was good! I honestly didn't know what to expect since it was a new place and all, but Gosh-that bread was ridiculously good! I will absolutely go there again in the near future to try more of their sandwiches and goodies! 0__0 Such an awesome experience being there was! Their wall decorations were fascinating and educational too! I had to photo some of their pieces for not only personal journal purposes, but to include in the review I wanted to make.

This is a classic old deli. You order at the counter from a menu that includes a nice variety of deli and grilled sandwiches including old favorites like egg salad, fried fish and all the deli standards. We both ordered the grilled Reubens, my wife did the chips and drink combo while I did the fries and drink combo. The Reubens were excellent and the fries were the fatter crinkle cut kind and they came out nice and crispy. I'm glad we didn't miss this place.

After a visit to the Truman library, we were ready for lunch. Dave's was perfect. Sandwiches, chili, corn dogs, and baked items. The chicken salad sandwich was on homemade bread. Really tasty. Very affordable and quick service. Also short five minute walk to Clinton's Fountain. Would definitely come again if in the area.

As luck would have it, I had to run an errand near the area and my decision was made. First off, the entrance isn't where you'd think it would be. The order window was closed and I noticed people going up to the deck to get in, so up I headed. The place was actually spacious and comfortable, it has a Caribbean vibe to it. After much consternation, I figured I'd make it tough on them and opted for the Reuben. As some somebody who has had many Reubens at the place where they were invented, Omaha's Blackstone Hotel, I can be a tough judge. This is definitely the best place to get one in KC, so I know that I'll be back for more. I even liked the bread that they used, it set it apart from other sammiches. And the service was great, so I'll be back.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

The Staff - I had the good fortune to interact with several of the staff members this time. And ALL of them were extremely nice, kind, and friendly. One thing I really loved was the option to order their homemade root beer in an ice-cold glass mug (which you return when you're done). It definitely adds to the nostalgic experience. Our favorite items were the crispy tater tots, the chicken nuggets (which were more like mini chicken strips), and the root beer floats.
