We stopped at this location for lunch with great anticipation for a nice meal (the Blue Springs location was closed for good over a year ago) I was craving a Taco Bravo. I ordered one and a taco burger. What I was served was not even what would call edible!!! The taco burger had apparently shrunk by 2 full inches in diameter... darn the pesky economy. Not sure when it shrank, perhaps during the pandemic, or after the elections... who knows. No matter, it was not only quite smaller than I remember, but it was cold, the bun was wrinkled & tough - as though It spent one too many minutes in the microwave; and the meat was non existent. A sorry excuse for a sandwich of any type. The Taco Bravo, wasn't "bravo" at all... it was a cold, cracked total mess. The only edible food item was the side of Potato Oles we'd ordered. At least they were hot and fresh. This place was a huge disappointment! And by the way... when we entered the lobby, we'd noticed that half of the tables were all stacked against the front windows of the dining area, and the chairs were placed upside down on top of those tables. I wondered if they were even open. I do not recommend stopping at this location at any time. Hopefully soon, they'll identify and resolve all these issues... otherwise, I doubt they'll stay in business here very much longer.

When out of town we like to try something new...weather its fast food or restaurant. Service was good, place is clean and freezing cold...as for the food...when your really hungry it works....would be much better if they could crisp up the burrito. Potato rounds were good.

Stopped at the Taco Johns on Noland at 1pm on a Friday, but Ive stopped here numerous times when Im in the area. Today they were super rushed and short staffed, so i just kinda hung out a bit while they struggled in the kitchen. My mobile order was ready quickly, and the food was served nicely. It could have been a bit warmer. The lobby was pretty clean, especially as short-staffed as they seemed today. This is one of the few places where you can find Cherry Pepsi in the fountain. Overall, compared to other fast tex-mex chains in the area, you'll probably have a decent experience here.

Below is a photo of what $6 gets you at Taco John's. Food was overdone and tasted awful. Also customer service is non-existent. Might as well just go to the McDonald's next door

I'm a die hard Taco John's fan. Forget about Taco Bell and Taco Bueno. Taco John's is the only fast food taco place I need. I wish one would open up in the Johnson county area. Like OP or Mission. I need one closer to home!! The food was tasty and fresh. I ordered my burritos with no cheese and they arrived with no cheese! I usually go into fast food restaurants expecting any "customized" orders to be wrong once delivered, so this was a pleasant surprise. The potato oles were perfectly seasoned and crispy. This is important since potato oles are what make TJs stand out. The staff was friendly. My family's order was correct and they delivered it to our table. The place was clean when we were there. It was during the lunch hour, so it was busy. I didn't notice any dirty tables or empty salsa containers. The staff was keeping up with the rush pretty well. I'll definitely be stopping in again next time I'm in this part of the world. :)

It had been YEARS since I had Taco Johns and I was pleasantly surprised at how good my chicken quesadilla was. I loved the mexi rolls with sour cream and the potato oles in cheese sauce. Friendly service here and my order was all correct. I'll be going back a lot more often!

Love the taco burger. It's not on the drive thru menu but just ask for it. I have eaten at TJs for years. Glad they are this close to me.

Staff are unprofessional and rude. Food is subpar compared to other taco johns locations. McDonald's is better, faster, and way cheaper.

It is very large, and she liked it. I ordered the half size quesadilla with chicken. Both dishes were served with shredded chicken. I'm not sure if grilled chicken was an option or possibly available at a higher price. But, the only thing I would recommend is more flavor/seasoning in the shredded chicken. Our table did not have silverware, but we just grabbed it off another table. And, the waiter brought extra napkins without us having to ask. Music was playing in the restaurant, but we were also seated near an employee on break who was blasting music and not using headphones. It was hard for us to enjoy our dining experience listening to two different songs at the same time for 15 minutes. But, this can easily be corrected by having employees use headphones or not play loud music during their break.

We also ordered a side of chips and salsa. The taco salad had very fresh ingredients mixed in the crispy taco bowl/shell. There was plenty of seating and the restaurant looking very clean!

The decor is a total throwback to Nickelodeon's show Guts from the 90s. Even if it isn't intentional, I retro-loved it. The salsa is smoky and a little spicy and pairs perfectly with their thin crispy chips. I've been to MANY Mexican restaurants in my lifetime, and this is probably the best salsa of this style I've ever had. For my entree, I tried something I've never even heard of. Carne en su Jugo is steak with beans in tomatillo based soup. Honestly I was shocked. It was delicious, spicy, full of flavor and so simple but extremely well done. With this chilly weather, it warmed me up in the best of ways. I could only finish half of it and I am so excited to finish it for lunch tomorrow. Unfortunately, the tortillas are not made in house. I would love to see more restaurants doing this. Our waitress was attentive and kind, bringing beverages and checking on us with appropriate frequency. We will be back, and frequently!

The exterior is unique because it looks like a Mayan structure, and the interior is super fun/themed and feels clean. We really enjoyed their thin, crispy tortilla chips, as well as their salsa (safe for those who don't like onions or cilantro because it's all pretty homogenous and mild), hot salsa, and queso. The queso was plain, without any pico de gallo mixed in, which I liked because (again) I don't like onions or cilantro. The chicken chimichanga was good-- not too big (smaller than what you may find at other places), and the chicken was really flavorful. The side of lettuce was served in a taco salad-style cup, which was cool. To add a side of rice and beans was optional, which I haven't found elsewhere, but I liked that because I could save a couple dollars if needed. Overall, I'd definitely go back! Service was great too, and parking was ample!
