This was my first time to this restaurant and overall it was a pretty nice experience. My friend…read moreand I visited around 2:30p on a Saturday so the place wasn't busy. The service was really great and the place is really spacious. There was a private room near the bar that would work well for a bookclub discussion if you're looking for engaging conversation and delicious bites. My friend ordered the ranch rings and the chicken chile nachos. I tasted both and they were really delicious. Would definitely purchase during another visit and recommend you try. I was kinda skeptical about the goat cheese on the nachos but they made it work. I ordered the steak tacos (3 tacos) and the southwest au gratin potatoes. The steak tacos were good (would order again) but the potatoes weren't worth raving about. I enjoyed the pickled red onions and the slaw on the tacos. The steak was cooked medium but I like my steak that way so if that's not your jam - definitely clarify that to your server. Didn't get to try any of the cocktails but looking forward to returning to check out some of the selections offered!

My first visit to Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Lee's Summit -- and overall a solid experience with…read morea few service hiccups worth noting. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were told there would be about a 10-minute wait, so we opted to grab seats at the bar and have dinner there instead. As the evening went on, we learned there are some trade-offs to dining at the bar. As the restaurant filled up, the bar area became increasingly busy and service naturally slowed. Small but noticeable details -- like water refills -- started getting overlooked. I was also surprised our server never checked in with my wife about her Chicken Pasta, especially since she barely touched it. We started with the Caesar Salad, which was excellent. The portion size was enormous -- easily large enough for two people to share -- with crisp romaine, generous dressing, and plenty of shaved Parmesan. I'm a longtime prime rib fan, so seeing it featured immediately caught my attention. The 13-ounce cut arrived perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The meat was exceptionally tender and flavorful, complemented nicely by a rich au jus and a creamy horseradish ("horsey") sauce that added just the right kick. My wife ordered the Chicken Pasta, which arrived as a very generous portion that could easily serve two. The dish featured grilled chicken over pasta in a spicy Asiago cream sauce. Unfortunately, the heat level was stronger than expected and ended up overpowering the dish for her, leaving most of it uneaten. One highlight of the evening was the Double Black Diamond Martini -- an infusion of fresh pineapple with New Amsterdam Pineapple Vodka. At $7.95 during Happy Hour (normally $13.95), it felt like one of the best values on the menu and was refreshing without being overly sweet. The restaurant was packed throughout our visit and clearly has a loyal following. After six years in this location, Firebirds seems to have built a strong customer base. With a bit more attentiveness to bar diners during peak hours, the experience could easily move from good to great.

Unknown to me the store by me had for some reason closed early (it's not quite 8:00 pm). When the pizza didn't show I logged back online to see that it had been scheduled for the NEXT DAY! I called but no answer so I called another Papa John's nearby and explained. I was told there was nothing they could do but that they'd make my pizzas a quickly as possible. Again I paid. Another hour goes by. I call to check. I was told they had used an Uber for my delivery and that the driver had kept my pizzas! When I asked how we could resolve it they told me they wouldn't use that driver again! The manager said would remake my pizzas if I wanted to drive to get them! How does that help me?!! I have now ordered AND PAID FOR four pizzas from two different Papa John's. It's been over two hours. My grandkids are now crying because they're hungry. We ordered Pizza Hut. I grew up in Louisville where Papa John's started. They've always been my favorite. I was super excited when they came to Missouri. But I won't use them again. I realize mistakes happen. But this ruined our night w the kids. No offer to rush a pizza to me- no real apology- and no pizzas - TWICE!!!
