First and foremost, the food is simple but always hits the spot. My wife and I recently showed up 30 minutes before closing, which I know is upsetting when it's that close to quitting time. Whoever was working the front around 5pm on Apr 29th deserves a raise. I go in, dudes the only guy I see, I ask if he's the only one there and he says his manager was doing something in the back. I order my food, he hands me my cup, and he was done making my sandwich by the time I was putting my straw in my drink. I've never seen someone make a sandwich so goddamn fast. I almost thought I dozed off at the soda machine or jumped a minute or two into the future. I get home, sandwich has been sitting for about 20-30 minutes now, and it's STILL the best damn sandwich I've ever gotten from Jimmy John's. I ordered the Giant Cubana for my husband. We got the sandwich and there is litterally three pieces of ham and a couple slices of bacon with a bunch of pickles. No cheese at all. So I called the store and was immediately put on hold. Then the woman tells me that what we got is what I ordered. She gets an attitude and continues to tell me there is cheese on the sandwhich. Not a chance in he!! is this what I ordered. Why would I pay $25 for a sandwich that is all bread and pickles?!!! I used to eat Jimmy John's all the time back in college, so I decided to try out a sub at the Lee's Summit location just for fun. The restaurant was empty, so I had the cashier help me pick out his favorite sandwich that contained Roast Beef. I enjoyed my sub. The bread was incredibly soft and the ingredients seemed fresh. The only thing I was disappointed about was their drink selection. They had maybe 6 soda selections. Very slim pickings when other sub shops have those massive computer- generated 100 choice drink things. I don't order often but the last three times I've ordered at least 40 minutes before I need my food delivered (less than 2 min down the road) and every time it is over an hour for delivery and always missing something or wrong all together. So we ended up ordering the vito on 9 grain.When we got our sandwich it is on white bread. we said this is not what we ordered. The girl got a huge attitude and began arguing about it. I love Jimmy John's sandwiches so that right there gets them 4 stars. What about the extra star you ask? This particular Jimmy John's location has the best service of any of them I have been to in the Kansas City area. I am always greeted by at least 2 employees and when I leave those same employees tell me good-bye or tell me to have a great day. It is the little things like that which make my experience (and frankly my day) better. I come to this Jimmy Johns every so often as it's close to my work. I like that they have a more varied menu than Subway. Its also great that they have "unwiches"; which are breadless subs wrapped in lettuce leaves. I like unwiches better, and they are healthier than bread for sure! read more

I have had several sandwiches from this shop and they are always fresh.....the bread is extra soft! I recently went inside for a lunch, All workers at the counter were very friendly and the service was efficient. I looked around and noticed that the place was very clean and orderly. I've gone to many Jimmy Johns sub places around the KC area but i love the service the most here. I live in Lees Summit and the store off 291 hwy actually delivers to me but the employees are very unenthusiastic unlike this location and not as fast. I also work close by so I'm always here. There's always one shorter girl employee that always remembers my order and has it started before I'm done paying!! She's always smiling along with the rest of the crew every time I go in. I have had couple unpleasant experiences with this location, and at first I tried telling myself that bad days happen, but eventually I have to admit that people are sometimes just plain rude. As a disclaimer, all my orders are to go and I haven't been inside. A couple of months ago I called from work to place an order for delivery, and the girl who took my call sighed audibly while asking if I needed a delivery to my store. I told her yes, feeling simultaneously self-conscious and angry, because I knew I hadn't done anything wrong, but she made it seem like delivering to my store was the last thing she wanted to do. The boy who actually brought my food seemed equally frosty, so I didn't bother ordering for a while, but I was really craving some Jimmy John's earlier this evening. Since it was a Sunday night I decided to call to find out how late they were open. The guy who answered the phone was rude and answered "Until ten?" with that upward inflection, like I stupid for asking. This is now the second occasion they have given me the impression that I was wasting their time. I'm not sure if they are more respectful and courteous in the restaurant than they are to customers on the phone, but they have guaranteed that I will never set foot inside this location and find out. read more

JJ's makes good sandwiches. This place is always clean. My biggest issue is with the customer service. There are some employees at this JJ's with HUGE attitude and arrogance issues. It's typically the females that seem to have the problem. One almost ran me over one time when i had the right of way in a pedestrian crosswalk. Another one (an asian-american lady) gave me some serious attidue like she was having a bad day, snatching my credit card out of my hand rudely and when I was waiting for a reciept rudely quipped, "What do you want?" Today I asked her if she could clean a table and she just looked at me as if I really put her out. No response and then she asks one of the guys to do it. I guess she's too good to clean a table. Pluses: the store is always super clean. The work area is also very clean as are the bathrooms. The service is really quick. I keep going as it's close to my work. Don't go too this Jimmy John's!! They have no clue when it comes to customer service. Their online system made an error with my order, but still managed to charge my card. They took it upon themselves to refund that order to my card and the wanted me to pay again to get my order. They were just 'sorry' I was going to be out $25 for a few days while I waited for my refund to post. I was not in a position to spend $50 on jimmie johns in one day and wait a few days for my refund...especially since none of this was my fault...and no one called me to even tell me what was going on. I had to call them after being charged and having no order show up. The owner had no empathy or solution besides 'sorry' and acted like all I wanted was free food!
