All you need to do is order at least $50.00 worth of meals and you're good to go. Shipping is prompt and your order will arrive packed in dry ice, in a large polystyrene foam container (which is itself wrapped in plastic). Not the most environment-friendly packaging. Secondly, using their website to place orders is a snap, and I also like how they will email you discount codes on a regular basis. I've also been given a quarterly rebate (in the the form of a discount code) based on the amount of my orders during that time -- kind of a loyalty bonus. Finally, the meals are OK, and I like that they are generally healthy and on the light side calorie-wise. Although they are pricier, the Signature meals are where you will find the highest quality entrees. Some meals can be prepared in the microwave, while others require cooking in the oven (at least based on the instructions printed on each container). It's also convenient that their meals can be kept frozen and not have to be consumed with a seven day window. Overall, I think that Magic Kitchen is definitely worth considering as an option to add some variety to your diet. Some of their meals are better than others, though.

However, they are expensive and so is the shipping. Our last order arrived late and was only partially frozen. The dry ice on top in the crate was completely dissolved. The crate was on a FedEx truck for several days. FedEx driver never rings the bell or knocks either to let you know order has arrived. Customer service not helpful. Not sure if I will be ordering from this company again.

This is essentially a ghost kitchen, so they're tailor made for delivery. It's a pared down menu that has some house favorites and it's in a good location that has a wide delivery area. The packaging is perfection, everything was sealed up and still hot. The fries lost their luster, but if you have an air fryer you can bring them back to life faster than a defibrillator. We both tried the Drunken Noodles which, flavor wise, were delicious. I'm someone who likes things relatively spicy, but I had to tap out of these pretty early. They were 9/10 on the spice level, despite going for medium. Spiciness is subjective, so I get it, but wanted to put that out there as this is a rare spot where I'd go "mild" next time. The little cream cheese wonton appetizers were good as well, and their Thai fries were tasty, but I've never met a french fry I wouldn't eat. The menu also includes Pad Thai, and a Spicy Thai Chicken Sandwich that I've heard is amazing. I do wish they could throw a couple extras on there like a curry or two, as well as mango sticky rice. Prices are good, concept is great, food is good, and I'd consider adding this into our over-reliance of food delivery going forward!

Chef was great to work with and was able to stay within our budget while putting together a tasty menu that included a vegetarian option for some of our group. On the day of the event, the Chef KC team arrived early, set up the buffet, and stayed throughout the event for anything we needed. They were incredibly professional, friendly and happy to help. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone had good things to say. Apologies for my photos - they are screenshots from a video and I was too excited to eat to go back for photos. Just know, the food looked (and smelled) better in person. To comment briefly on pricing, for two meat proteins, one vegetarian protein, sides, salad, and dessert - Chef KC was well-priced and competitive, and in my opinion, provided one of the better tasting catered buffets I've had on campus. The covered patio is lined with string lights, picnic tables, and enough personality to make you think you've stumbled onto a hidden neighborhood spot. It looks like the kind of place where you order way too much food, sit outside for an hour, and immediately start planning your next visit. Then the smell hits you. The aroma drifting from the service window made me regret eating lunch before I arrived. Whatever was cooking inside smelled incredible. The kind of smell that makes you start mentally rearranging your order before you've even looked at the menu. I was already rooting for the place. Unfortunately, that's where things started going sideways. Ordering felt confusing from the beginning. There was a service window, a kiosk, and a food truck operating in the same space, and it wasn't entirely clear where the process started or ended. After placing my order, I settled in to wait. And wait. And wait. For most of that 45-minute wait, the only conversation available was the hum of the air-conditioning unit and the rumble of the food truck generator parked out front. Employees moved between the building and the truck. Customers came and went. Nobody ever checked in. Nobody ever told me there was a problem. Nobody ever told me my order had apparently been lost. Eventually, after asking about it, the food appeared. By then I was running late to pick up my son. The frustrating part isn't that the food took 45 minutes. The frustrating part was not knowing what was happening. Because there were good things there. The Birria Hot Cheeto Balls were doing some heavy lifting that afternoon. Bright neon red on the outside, packed with tender birria, and loaded with the kind of cheese pull that makes you stop talking for a second just to appreciate what's happening. They came with a cheddar dipping sauce I would have happily swam laps in. Later, after I got home, I discovered there was also a chipotle sauce tucked into the bag. The food showed flashes of real creativity. The elote arrived watery and underwhelming, and I never really got a fair chance to evaluate the birria ramen. By the time I got home, I was rushing through the meal instead of enjoying it. The experience I'd come for was already gone. I couldn't sit on the patio. I couldn't take my time with the food. I couldn't tell if I was eating the ramen the way it was intended to be served because nobody explained the garnishes or sauces. That's what disappointed me most. Somebody misses a ticket. Somebody forgets to communicate. One small mistake starts rolling downhill and suddenly a guest is sitting alone for 45 minutes wondering if they've become invisible. It happens. What matters is what happens after. Nobody argued. Nobody made excuses. Nobody told me I was wrong. They simply acknowledged that my experience wasn't what it should have been. That doesn't erase the wait. It doesn't give me back the afternoon I had planned. But it does remind me that there are people behind the counter, and people make mistakes. The patio is inviting. The food showed enough promise to make me curious. The Birria Hot Cheeto Balls alone are enough to make me wonder what a good day at Nunez Foods looks like. I tried to get them to work with me on any option to use the groupon and they were completely rude and unwilling in any way to help me. This company clearly won't stand behind any deals they offer. I have made meals here before and their food is overpriced for the quality they offer anyway, so a discount is the only way I would have used them. I guess I'm just out the price I spent for this super "deal". Save your money and time!
