Pricey, but worth the money. Lots of neat on top of the fries. Great flavor, nice and hot.

I stopped by on a cold and snowy Friday evening and after ordering I was given a small beeper, so I could wait in my vehicle for the short wait. Nice. I ordered three tacos- 2 asada and 1 chorizo for $9. The plate came with hefty servings of meat on double tortillas topped with the finest chopped onions and cilantro I've ever encountered. In fact the meat was also chopped extremely fine. I really think that this prep method brings out more flavor in the end. Excellent product. There was plenty of garnishments also; grilled onions, charred serrano pepper, sliced cucumbers and radish, limes and 2 sauces. The green sauce was delicious and the yellow was atomic so be careful. I almost went back for a second round after getting home and devouring them, but didn't want to brave the cold. This will be a regular stop after work as long as they remain in the neighborhood.

Ordered 4 tacos de lengua with a side of refried beans and rice. (Which why not a free side of rice and beans with my tacos?) whatever. Not the biggest issue. Paid $19 The lengua was not even seasoned. The corn tortillas were stale The refried beans was literally soup. See video. The rice was barely barely seasoned. I know there used to be a different truck at this spot and that's how I fell in love with coming here. Then this truck showed up and I thought I'd give it a shot. Only had it 2 times. Not happy both times.

It is so awesome to be able to get a custom beverage and snack right in front of your office first thing in the morning. The convenience factor alone gives it 5 stars. That being said, even if it wasn't convenient I'd seek out this local gem. When I see the CoffeeCake truck around town I feel excitement build within me. Maybe it's the caffeine addiction talking but they serve up some of the best drinks to come out of a truck. I usually stick to a non-fat latte or a freshly brewed tea (hot or iced depending on the season) and my favorite coconut muffins! (For all you coconut haters, I'm glad you hate coconut because then there's still a muffin left for me by the time I get to the truck!) My coworkers favorites are the flat white, pablo, dirty chai, mocha, hot chocolate, and, of course, the infamous coffee cake. Service with a smile is an understatement. By your second or third visit the ladies on the truck will know you're face and order by heart and love you for it!

So, I am 100% behind this idea coming to fruition now in Kansas City, where it is admittedly a lot easier to find a non corporate cup of coffee, but try to do so in the evening, especially weekends after 3pm, and you're SOL. Or, perhaps you're having a busy workday and can't get in your car to locate some caffeine. Not to mention, when there are events around town like First Weekends in the Bottoms and you find yourself needing some little boost to get you in for the long haul or art walkin' and antique pickin' (yes, this was me on Saturday). Enter CoffeeCakeKC offering up some of the best roasted bean juice in town! What was it, 95 degrees on Saturday? Nothing like an iced Americano (with soy milk, yay!!) to brighten these languid, humid days and CCKC's is perfect in flavor (nutty, strong, not bitter). I was too hot for a baked good, but I look forward to this option in the future. They look/smell divine! Not to mention the fact the people behind this operation are extremely nice, so ordering up is a pleasure. Be sure to subscribe to their Twitter feed so you can stalk them for that which keeps your motor runnin'.

There were chunks of fresh strawberries in the waffle and we opted for cinnamon and sugar on our vanilla waffle which made it even more delicious! Our dogs were absolutely in love with the woofles! They each had one and were begging for more! 5 paws all around! I love that they were in a individually wrapped package of 5 so you can save them if they are too big for your little pup.

The Waffler is preparing Euro street food in the form of Liege waffles (you may know them better as Belgian-style) and these fluffy, yeast-assisted, waffled discs are sensational platforms for multiple purposes. Whether you are wandering the streets of Brussels or Lenexa, the art of the Liege waffle is timeless. You can top them with fruit, spread on peanut butter or Nutella (my daughter's jam), or get your Southern funk on by dropping a piece of fried chicken on a stack. Liege style waffles are light enough to hold the crunch even after fruits are dropped on and sturdy enough to support chicken and gravy. Think of their culinary utility much the same as a tortilla, only with a different skill to the prep and a more robust flavor. This Waffler encounter had us sampling the basics, the vanilla waffle for me and my foodie sidekick with an orange-infused options. Both were delightful, dusted with powdered sugar, crisp, light, and classic. The vanilla went down so easily that I had to sample the Quiche Lorraine (or Quiche La-Poodle for you B-52's fans) and this eggy fave did not disappoint. Light, done perfectly on top and oh so savory. You're dropping $5 for a single waffle (or you can go $8 for a full chicken and waffles stack), so if you can pair the waffle with a great cup of coffee or fancypants coffee drink, you're in at $10-ish for a rather unique breakfast experience, and that's kind of the point. You want Eggos and Folgers? Yeah, I've been there, but thanks to options like The Waffler parked next to a Roasterie, I've stepped up my game. Pro tip: If you're wearing black, then beware the powdered sugar. The slightest breeze reminds you later of your choices. Since I did the waffle on my lap, I was bedazzled with sugar shrapnel on my black sweats. Kind of reminiscent of my high school geometry teacher, who was always chalk-dusted on the back of his blazer. Dude knew his angles, though.

Flavor of the meat was 8/10 and it was tender too. One of the drizzled sauces was a crema but the other was more BBQ inspired. Tasty, just unusual but not in a bad way. What kept these from receiving a higher rating was how flimsy the corn tortillas were. They fell apart and made a traditionally hand held food nearly impossible to eat.

I've had their quesidillas, tamales, and raspberry tamales. I think the quesidillas might be my favorite, but on different days, they tend to offer different things. Maybe the bbq nachos are my favorite, or the tamales. Once, in Raytown, I had their barbecue nachos. It was way more than I could eat, which made 2 excellent meals. They didn't put much gloppy cheese on it, (like I requested) and the nachos were even good at the second meal. It pulled pork, bbq sauce, and fresh vegetable. Little cheese. I like their tamales too. Heck, I generally like it all. If you make a special request, they will go out of the way to make the food for you, say, no dairy sauce, or no cheese. No problem. They are polite and nice about it. I didn't try one of their burgers yesterday. I probably should've but this truck seems to get out and about. Including the areas around where I live. I follow them on FB, and Twitter, and keep up with where they are. They've had a couple of mishaps to get around in the past, but thank goodness they they did it, and are successful.
