Visited on a Saturday - the pizza was again. excellent - made well, generous toppings and clearly made with fresh ingredients. There were quite a few people there so it was busy enough but not crowded. The music was a bit loud for an afternoon, but not bad. So there was no real reason we should have sat there for 10 minutes waiting for a waitress. So service list s half-star today. We will definitely return as we love the pizza & always willing to overlook a bust wait staff, within reason. read more

Stopped in on a Monday to try their Monday meal deal (an 11inch pizza for $11) and paid to upgrade to a specialty pizza. I opted to try the chicken, bacon, ranch pizza, and added artichokes to it. This was delicious! Their crust is crispy and almost cracker like and it was incredible. I got a side of the ranch as well and this is some of the best ranch I've had from a pizza joint. Checked out OSP in Lenexa and I would go back again and for that Rangoon dip they have!! It's absolutely delicious. We half & halfed 2 pizzas and tried 4 kinds. Their pepperoni is so good! Good flavor on good crust. The margarita was delicious also! Their luau was okay. I do really like their crust. Not too thin and crispy enough. The cannolis were okay. First things first, I wasn't the biggest fan of the service here. The place was decently empty with just a couple people sitting at the bar area chatting amongst themselves. I walk in to retrieve my pick up order and I was met with just some stares as everyone proceeded to continue their conversations, leaving me standing there for some time. No hellos or welcome in, which is fine but still would make the place seem a bit more welcoming. Anyways, finally got my order which consisted of the crab rangoon pizza, pepperoni pizza, and garlic knots. Unfortunately I wasn't super impressed with the crab rangoon pizza. It was just like eating a glob of cream cheese on soft bread. Pepperoni pizza was pretty basic, regular. I did enjoy their garlic knots and marinara though! It does remind me of the garlic knots from Walmart, which would be a much cheaper alternative. Glad I gave the place a try, but probably won't be trying again. read more

I sat at a table for 7 minutes while the wait staff complained at the counter. I went to the counter to be told another person would help me. Apparently they were too busy to help me. No thanks. Tried to speak with a manager at the Lenexa store. The person that answered said is this about the pizza? When I said no, she said tell me your ticket number which I said I don't have one. I've been coming to OSP, here and the one on Nieman Rd. I usually order the Carne Italiano, and add a couple items. On this particular visit, I was less than pleased as, while the service and food was as good as always, the preparation of my pie was not. Usually the toppings cover most of the surface area and are evenly distributed. This time however, there was a large area near the edge of the crust that didn't receive the love it should. An area of little to no meat or cheese, only sauce. While the meats were there, they were mostly in the middle. This doesn't mean I won't be back, but next time I may ask for a replacement it the same situation is encountered. read more

I was going back and forth between a 3 and a 4. We came here after a dinner for some night caps but I couldn't help order some pizza since I love pizza and it's in the name of the restaurant. We ordered two whiskey flights and a small personal pizza as a snack to soak up the whiskey even though we just ate . It was a pretty chill environment but we came later in the night so I don't know how normally weekend nights are for this establishment. I will say they had the best whiskey collection I have seen! They have everything you can imagine from rare and allocated products. Our waitress was having a long, tough night but she was super sweet. The pizza came out fresh and hot. Since it was smaller, it reminded me of pizza I made at home but I will say that it had a nice crust. Topping, cheese, and base wise was fine but the crunchy cracker like crust was solid. I will probably be back here to try a larger pizza to get the true experience and also definitely for the whiskey flight specials like on Wednesday. Tequila will be on Tuesday I hear. read more

First visit my pizza sat on the bar for 20 minutes while the cashier flirted with her boyfriend. So I thought, anyone could have accidentally hired a lack luster employee or maybe the owners daughter so thought they deserved another shot. But again, disappointed. Sign right at the front door said "2 large, 2 topping pizza for $39.95" but received 2 medium pizzas. Not sure if this was accidental or a scam they pull but think I'm onto looking for my next favorite. Too bad too, the pizza was good. Wish I had taken photos of the sign... Good pizza, nice atmosphere, good for kids and hanging out, fairly attentive staff, and high prices. I took my two grandsons (6 and 12) here to meet up and hand them back to their dad. We got seated at a booth immediately (seat yourself). It was fairly busy. There appeared to be only 1 server for the entire restaurant, but he seemed to be on top of all the guests. We wanted wings to start (one of the main reasons the 12 year old wanted to go there). But they were OUT of wings at 5:45 on a Friday night. That seems very unfortunate, and the 12 year old was mopey. After passing through the lack-of-wings debacle, we ordered two pizzas and some garlic knots. The food was great. Getting the attention of the single server was sometimes difficult, but in all we had a great time. I really enjoyed my salad. As a lactose intolerant person, I am a bit limited at a pizza joint but Lola added some BBQ chicken to a salad and it was great. I was accompanying my husband to a whiskey event here and I thoroughly enjoyed the Manhattan as well as the 'Drop the beet' which showcases gin steeped with beet. I have heard good things about OSP but had never tried it before. I thought my girls would love a pepperoni pizza and garlic knots for dinner and gave the Lenexa location a carry out order. Now I take 100% responsibility for not checking the prices before ordering a single topping large pizza (14"). The call taker knew this was my first time ordering from OSP and didn't take the time to offer specials or best choices from the menu (called at 4:30pm on a Sunday) I was shocked when I arrived and was charged $33 for 4 knots and a large pepperoni pie. I figured maybe the pie is "that" good... When I got my order I was sadly disappointed to find the pizza very lacking for the $22 price tag and the garlic knots burned on top,$8. From service to ambiance to food quality OSP Lenexa is a pass, for now. read more

A Circus of Inconsistencies, Inacurracies, and Ineptitude. So I've been an Old Shawnee customer since 2004 going to the Shawnee location all of the time until I moved to Lenexa at which point I frequented the Lenxa location always. After last week that will no longer be the case. The should call their Tuesday special the Toss up pizza special meaning you order what you want but you will actually get some sort of combination of the toppings on either pizza. Both of my pizzas were incorrect so we ended up picking most of the toppings off. Ordering over the phone was a challenging since the person taking the order had no idea that there is more than 1 type of sausage offered. Employees knowing their own menu would be good. I arrive and wanted to pay with my gift card through egiftia. I handed my phone to the cashier and the cashier ended up charging me twice for my order which left my gift card balance to zero. I was able to talk the manager into writing a paper gift card for the balance owed. Got home and after noticing the pizzas were incorrect I called. The manager offered to send me gift certs through my email/egiftia? I called again after not seeing them the next day. A different manager took my address down and told me he would send them in the mail. It's almost been a week and still nothing. Perhaps they will arrive next week, or maybe the week after. Since Jason the old manager left, this location has been riddled with inconsistencies. Whether it's time before pickup will be ready(15 minutes turns into 25 minutes or 25 minutes and the pizzas were done in 15 minutes) or the consistency of the cook of the pizza it's almost never the same. This was not a problem with this location even last year. If I go to Little Caesars and get a cheap pizza for $6 and it's wrong fine whatever. But if I shell out almost $40 for food I expect it to be correct and kind of consistent. Furthermore, if you aren't going to honor incorrect pizzas don't tell me you will take care of it twice then just forget about it. That implies to me that you either don't give a crap about a repeat customer, or you think I'm lying and am trying to get free food which is hilarious since I've been going to Old Shawnees since 2004. read more

My wife and I have been coming to the Lenexa location for almost 4 years. We have enjoyed using the $14.99 coupons for a large 1 topping pizza. Last week we learned that they no longer honor these and now that same pizza is $28! Two topping Tuesdays used to be $16 for a large and now is $17 for a medium. Great event with some hiccups. It was confusing to know where to go without any signage or directions when we arrived. Once we figured out that the line was for the event it was okay. It was just a long line and not enough space to accommodate everyone. I don't believe they were prepared for the amount that showed up and stayed because as you waited in line the pizza was gone before you could get any and people were waiting for more to be brought out so the line stayed the same. They did pass out some items table to table which was helpful. They had a raffle drawing and my husband was drawn but since the rooms were divided they passed it to someone else before we could get to them in the other room. Hoping the next event is a little more organized and they have a way to keep the lines flowing and food warm/cold. read more

This spot is a neighborhood favorite. Occasionally the service can be spotty if you're dining in but the food makes up for any service issues. I ALWAYS get the crab Rangoon pizza and try one new flavor. The nice thing about OSP is you can get 1/2 and 1/2 on speciality pizzas and you don't even need to have the same base sauce. With one large specialty pizza, my husband and I always have a meal the next day. However, don't get one medium pizza thinking it will be enough for two people, it's a lot less filling/smaller. Let's be honest, people in the Midwest tend to judge a pizza place based off of their ranch.. I can attest that they have the best ranch around and they bring an entire bottle to the table if you're dining in. They also have a special garlic green sauce my husband LOVES. Their house salad is amazing and one side salad is always enough for my husband and I to split. The OSP dip is unique. One time we were accidentally given this instead of the artichoke dip but we were pleasantly surprised and will probably always get this over the artichoke dip. Oh and did I mention the crust?? It's so crispy and flaky. I LOVE this place. 10/10 recommend! We have continued to support them through takeout during COVID-19. I never want this place to close. I remember going here as a little girl and it's so engrained in the community. If you opt in for texting deals, they will send you weekly specials. Sometimes they're really good deals. read more

Now, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs and we asked for a biggie pie size and if it's just two of ya stick with M or L. Lots of pizza leftover for us. Our two year old just likes good old fashioned cheese and she ate her whole pie. She didn't care too much for the garlic knot. I was kinda disappointed because they only carry chocolate milk and not white and our toddler is a milk drinker. The crab Rangoon dip was amazing! Hot and ooey! Caution, Gluten Free people!! The options for the GF crust were mini and small, so I ordered the small (based on the pizza pans on the wall, small is 9"). My husband also ordered the small regular crust. We waited so long that we had to ask for the pizzas to go, which was strange because we saw at least 5 people standing around in the kitchen. Side note, most of the tables are set up so they can't accommodate a high chair, so we were trying to corral our very curious toddler the whole time. Anyway the pizzas finally came out and the GF pizza was TINY- 6.5"! We paid $18.50 per pizza and we were both still hungry. One pro: they had a guy singing and playing the guitar, which was cool. We had a great night with a party of 7 (4 kids, 3 adults). OSP knows that kids get hangry when waiting for pizza to cook, so they brought out four little bowls of shredded cheese, ham pieces, slices of pepperoni and crackers! One of the kids thought the pepperoni was a little spicy. But other than that it was good! It was so helpful. I overheard the staff say they had not seen the place that just in months and that made me smile thinking that perhaps things are getting back to normal.
