The food I get you can't get at the commercial stores, you have to get at special stores like J Co. The first time I came in, I was really impressed with the knowledge of the staff, and the customer service that was given not just to me, but to the other customer's that were in front of me. I observed the store owner carry out a bag of dog food for an elderly man that day and that melted my heart. They didn't have the size bag of food I needed, so he ordered it for me. Unfortunately shortly after that I ended up taking my Son's dog in, and had to switch brands because it was a little spendy paying for 2 small dogs, and 1 large dog. It is the same company of food, just the cheaper version. Thankfully they carry it here as well. When I did purchase my bag of Orijen dog food the owner carried that bag out for me... no questions asked. That is just the kind of guy he is. I am now buying Acana, which is the Sister to Orijen. They have the program where you buy 11 bags get the 12'th one free. Or 10 get the 11'th? Something around there. I can't quite remember. I have been still buying my food at the other place because I am waiting to get my free bag. I think I have one more purchase until I can be a more loyal customer here. I think customer service, and knowledge of the product is really important especially when dealing with pets. They have that going on here. Nothing but the best here. My Pomeranians are one in a half, and one and they rarely get treats, the only treats I have ever bought for them have been the Orijen freeze dried treats their whole lives up until Thanksgiving time when I saw the Bocce treats here. They looked really healthy, and limited ingredients. My girls love them, and they have not had upset tummy's or have not had any itchy issues while eating them. I am one picky Pommy Mommy when it comes to what they eat, and now I also watch what my Son's English Cream retriever eats. She has not had any issues eating these treats either. They are all eating the Acana, after eating Orijen puppy, and love it. Their coats are beautiful, and soft. As soon as my Son takes his baby back, I will switch back to Orijen for my Pommy baby's though since they won't eat me out of house, and home. :-) Anyhow, best place for food, treats, toys, and shampoo. The lone employee was basically polite but not too helpful. I found some treats and shampoo for my dog, but otherwise had to go elsewhere.

The gentleman behind the counter was capable of smiling, he did so with someone who was obviously a regular who came in after me, but it felt like I was beneath him to interact with. This is my third dog to have on the wellness plan and my fiancé's second and we are pleased. You pay a nominal monthly fee for the year and all the basics are included. It's a great way to start off your pet's health. It's a bummer that other people don't take the time to have their issues resolved because the team at Banfield in Eugene is outstanding even if they don't get it exactly right to start. Definitely give them an opportunity to be your pet care provider.

They have other locations across town, but this one's super convenient for the Northeast Neighbors area and a good alternative to the big box pet stores, since they carry many brands those don't. As it turns out, they have a wide selection of high quality dog and cat foods, toys, accessories, and grooming supplies. And best of all, they carry the brand of quality grain-in kibble I've been using as a base for my very pampered dog's meals. Prices on all of the above are pretty fair. So I've hit them up several times in the short time we've lived in the neighborhood. The young staff has been friendly and helpful, and offered me a rewards punch card that customers can use to get a loyalty discount when it's full. One strange aspect of this store is that they sell cigarettes. The entire wall behind the counter is festooned with tobacco products, and judging by customer traffic while I've been there, it's likely a significant portion of their sales. It makes me think that selling pet food and supplies may not yield enough profit to pay the rent on these spaces, unfortunately. I'm not a fan of cigarettes, but hey, a lot of people still indulge, so I can't really judge Mini Pet Mart for entering the tobacco market. Maybe that's how they're able to control prices on the pet food and supplies. Parking is available in the lot right outside.
