The Richmond Fatburger is located in the big Walmart complex. I have visited locations in the US as well as the Ladner location (which gets props for excellent customer service and experience). This location is good but not great. Service and employee disposition can certainly be improved. In defence of some Yelpers I have to agree the value to satisfaction ratio is a little off but to compare it to a fast food location also isn't fair. Burgers and fries are made a la minute (fancy for made to order lol) and the food did come out fresh, hot and delicious. This is not a place you go to to get a quick burger fix but rather a place to go if you're feeling like a step up in quality and a place to actually enjoy the food (and not necessarily just to get some food in you). Overall it's a decent burger place in Richmond which has few choices in this catagory UPDATE: service has taken a severe nose dive. Came today around 5pm (April 1, 2020) and the staff didn't not even acknowledge my presence. Yes they were fairly busy as there was only 2 of them but to make me stand there without even looking in my direction for over 5min is NOT acceptable even during these very strange times. My impression was that I was about to get a big fat and juicy burger. I couldn't wait. When my food came, I was surprised at how small the burger was in reality. Pretty pricey for fast food, but worth it. The burgers are tasty and enormous, not like the processed stuff you get from typical fast food places. There are many different options for customization, which is great because everyone has different preferences. The wing packages are even more expensive and exceed $10, which seems a bit excessive for a few chicken wings (even with fries and a drink included). They have tons of different sauce options of varying degrees of spicyness, so you can pick something that suits your taste. I would say burgers give you a better value for your money, though. Drinks included are supposed to be bottomless, but during the COVID-19 crisis the self-serve soda fountain is shut down and drinks are served in a can. I didn't ask if they would provide more cans of pop if you finish one, or if the bottomless drinks are temporarily paused during the pandemic. read more

This Fatburger had to be the worst experience I have had at a specialty burger restaurant. This will be the last time I will be dinning at a Fatburger restaurant. The burger that I had was the cheddar bacon burger and it was not very flavourful. The actual burger was dry and over cooked. The staff seemed to be put out while I was being served at the counter. Even during these Covid times they can still have a better customer service attitude. $15 for a burger and a coke seems a little pricey for what was served. Waited for nearly 30min to receive my order - employees had no sense of urgency and took their time to make the food. Burgers dare I say. No masks. Went home and drinks were not in the take out bag. Called back to provide them the feedback and the lady on the phone was very condescending, saying it was my responsibility to check our order. The takeout bags were stapled so are we expected to open them at the store to double check?? How redundant is that? Not sure how it's my responsibility if places like McDonalds is able to fulfill orders without asking the customers to double check. Church's chicken can fulfill orders in 15 minutes. The place was very slow too so I don't appreciate the poor attitude and service when you only had about 4 orders to fill. You get the feeling they don't know what hamburger lovers want in their burgers. The buns should always be toasted or placed in the grill to be warmed up. It also changes the characteristics of the bun. Fries and gravy were average. I guess they're still figuring out what makes a good burger besides just following the franchise handbook. If they want to keep the customers the food has to look, feel and taste as good as the pictures they show them in. I really hope the franchise just isn't taking people's money without proper support. I went to Fatburger in Richmond and ordered the California Burger which comes with applewood smoked bacon, cheese and guacamole- I paid $1 more to swap out the beef for grilled chicken breast. It was absolutely delicious. The girl taking orders at the counter was really friendly. The only slight downside is the buns the burgers come on. They always fall apart half way through. Hadn't been to Fatburger for a while so I thought I'd drop in since it's just a few blocks from parents condo. Stopped in around 2pm and wasn't too busy inside - only one other group of four dining inside. I ordered a double fat cheeseburger with works including BBQ sauce, grilled onions and an onion ring with a side of onion rings instead of friesd. Saw comments about cold buns so I asked if they toasted their buns - they said they did. Order completed and delivered to my table in about 5-10mins. Meat was moist. Cheese helped. BBQ sauce had just the right about if smoky flavour to it. All in all a good burger. Don't know what the others were complaining about. Oh yeah. Usually Fat burger is good, but not this location. Very slow service, there were 2 people in the whole place including me and took 10 minutes to make my single small burger. It came to $10.50, and the bun was very evident it was 2 or 3 days old and literally crumbled in my hand and was stale. I'm not one to complain, but I absolutely hate it when restaurants think it's OK to use old stale bread for an otherwise good burger...so unacceptable. Only way to ruin a burger completely imo. I asked politely and Cool for a fresh bun, so they grabbed another one from the DEMPSTER'S bag and handed me a new one and wasn't much better. "Just go through the old bread, no one will notice! We can save a few cents". Well, we notice! Every. Time. Long story short is it's poor quality at this location.
