I always pass by A&W on my way to other chain restaurants, but I've never once thought of going inside.
Don't ask me why. It's just always been this way.
The interiors always look so orange and dingy. I think the last time I had A&W, I was in high school.
But today, as I wandered through Richmond Centre's food court looking for my next meal, I saw something interesting: A&W offering spicy burgers? Spicy COD Burgers? Sign me up!
So I bought myself a burger at the counter. Even though it was lunch time, the guy at the counter was quick and efficient. And the burger was a beauty! A soft airy bun, two generous cod fillet pieces sticking out of both sides of my burger (like the wings of a Jumbo 747) and a yummy dollop of seasoning. The burger wasn't spicy by any means (although being a regular consumer of raw ghost pepper, nothing is spicy to me anymore) but it had a delicious, subtle flavour that I really loved. My only complaint was that I would have liked more sauce, but hey, even with less sauce, this burger tasted seriously perfect.
I loved it so much that I ordered an extra to go. I didn't order any fries or root beer, which I'm seriously regretting now, because if they're anything like the burger, YUM!
Definitely give this A&W a try. The spicy cod burger owns all. read more
