A good little place to stop for a bite but sits in a more "isolated" atmosphere. Could use renovations.

This place is such a hidden gem for burger lovers! Our friend who works around the neighborhood…read moretook us there. The restaurant is spacious yet cozy with warm lightings. There's a full bar service with a bar tender, and a couple waitresses. We sat down with no wait time, and the server brought the menu right away. We each ordered a truffle mushroom blaze burger, with some sides of onion rings and yam fries. We also shared a crispy chicken poutine which was delicious. The crispy chicken was a little over fried, but the poutine and cheese made up for it. The truffle mushroom burger was very yummy with big portions. They are also flexible to customize the orders, with extra toppings, and switch it up for kids menu. Our waitress was also very patient with us and took down all of our customizations, and got them right. If you are looking for a nice local burger place with friendly staff, this is the place to be!

Their space is not too big but it is perfect for date night. In fact, most people there were on dates. The aesthetics of their space is designed for date nights. They not only have burgers but also a cafe which coffee. I got their diablo picante beef burger which had lettucem avacado, jalapeno, pico de gayo, chipotle mayom sour cream, AND TORTILLA CHIPS inside the burger! I was so excited to try this mexican style gourmet burger. I will say it definitely lived up to the hype and I will say do not get this if you don't like spice because it was spicy. My partner got their blaze poutine which was not bad, but nothing great at the same time. They had a special bali coffee which they recommended so we got that but I would give it a 3/5 for that. Overall not bad!

I've…read moretried them all in richmond and this place is my top choice yes, it's a bit pricey, and the toppings are fewer than the bigger chains, but the quality of the choices and most importantly the broth is superior. We tried the pork broth, the hk chicken soup, and the tomato. All very very good. The HK chicken broth was so good. On a rainy foggy day, it was good for the soul. So flavourful. Self serve condiments/sauce bar with freshly chopped ingridients. Unlimited kimchi and salted peanuts and Preserved veggies...and unlimited free ice cream with charcoal cone too. The price is a bit higher as it's pegged at 50g compared to 100g. Place look elegant inside for a DIY hotpot. Also for every $18...u get free chicken wings or plum juice or Chinese burger.. Service quick and efficient. Free water and hot tea and bougie take out boxes. Awesome experience. Cheers. Happy eating!

(Spend $18+ & get a free item, such as: a Chinese-style Burger, chicken wings, dessert, or drinks) I've been here 4x already in the past 2 months, & I initially loved the Malaysian Laksa broth. Unfortunately on my 3rd & 4th visits, the laksa broth was a little stale (sour) & the ingredients didn't taste so fresh. I may still return for the delicious Chinese burger & the crispy chicken wings sides, but I'll have to try different broths & ingredients next time.

The Story Cafe was one the few places that are close to the airport, open early in the morning, and have a high rating. The Story Cafe does live up to the good ratings! The restaurant was spacious with lovely vintage-like decors. The food portion was generous. We had their Fly Me to The Bennies with Salmon, Crab Cake Bennies, Egg In Purgatory, and Duck Confit Hash. All dishes were delicious. I had an oat mocha and to my surprise, there's a really good latte art, which is uncommon in metro Vancouver for drinks with oat milk. The service was normally good, no complaints! Highly recommend The Story Cafe for an early breakfast near the airport.

Boy, they sure dropped the ball with service this time. I've been a regular client over the years,…read moreand have come for weekend brunch, lunch on weekdays, dinners, and even the Thursday live music nights. This is a Saturday at about 3:10pm. Upon entry, we saw only two or three tables occupied. Our waitress took her time coming up to us, and didn't really greet us. She just said they only have the Happy Hour menu as it was after 3pm. We never had Happy Hour before, but based on our past experiences, we were quite sure the smaller menu will be fine. I told her there are 4 of us, and she had to look around the restaurant, and then a looooong gaze at her tablet showing the tables. She pointed to a table towards the wall with the record player. We approached the table, then my wife wanted to sit at the end table behind ours. We asked the waitress, and she said it was reserved! OK, fine. We'll settle into our first table. We found it odd as reservations are not allowed during brunch and happy hour until 5pm. We were there shortly after 3pm. She then brought us menus, but only cared to bring two, when she knows there are four of us. Not a word, and just walked away. I turned towards her but she was already walking away. By this time, I didn't bother anymore. I just walked over myself and grabbed the menu. Then she didn't serve us anymore. Another Asian young man then came with the water bottle. A bit more eye contact this (yay) but still no smile. Just asked us what to drink. Took order and stepped away. We then ordered our dishes, and the food came promptly, except for the flat bread, which came more towards the end when other items are nearly finished. All good, but all of us just felt a whole different vibe this time, all having been here before. Sure enough, the table behind was still unoccupied by the time we left an hour later. Hmm. We were actually there to celebrate my birthday but we weren't really in the mood after not one but two servers seem to need more training. Oh, and heads up. When you call, you'll be talking to AI, not a human being! This should be a 1 star but the good food saved the day.

Do people in 2024 wish for the nostalgia of the 1950s?…read more Do today's TikTok bunch long for the 1950s? Or perhaps better yet, should I be asking - are people today craving burgers from 74 years ago? After all Johnny Rockets, came to town for a few years then suddenly up & left. I have fallen in love with Smash Burgers over the recent few years due to the high quality offerings of some really prime burger joints throughout Metro Vancouver. See my pix & review & look for Burger Crush, Mozza Burger, Blaze Gourmet Burgers, etcetera. Upon walking into 50s Burger, I was wowed by the decor & art. However, there was no music playing from the old juke box inside the restaurant. How can you not have the 50's hits of Buddy Holly, The Drifters, The Everly Brothers, Brenda Lee, Fats Domino & even Elvis playing in the background? Service was friendly & welcoming. The burgers, fries & shakes however, need some serious attention & work! To be honest if I compare the offerings here to other burger joints, it would be a bad matchup. The burger lacked that certain umph you'd expect after each bite. The fries did not excite me. Compared against the thin cut fries at Burger Crush & there's no competition The shakes we had were just ok - nothing special. Again for comparison sakes - try the Choc Shake at Crush Burger. I hope things turn around here sooner than later. Throughout Metro Vancouver, businesses & espacially restaurants are having a hard go at it. You must bring your A+ game into this business if you are to survive. I would seriously encourage those running 50s Burgers, to check out the competition!

I have never been to this location before but most of the locations for this chain are pretty consistent in terms of friendly service and their food quality. Here were the food I ordered while munching on some of their peanuts; 1. Bacon cheeseburger with all the way toppings. Everything the way I like in an old fashion homemade burger so be prepared to get your hands a little bit messy. 2. Little Hamburger with half the works. Pretty good but I still prepare with all the works more. 3. Poutine. Very generous portion with lots of cheese but I think I just stick with their fries and gravy on the side next time. There are quite a lot of burger joints opened up in the last decade or so but my two favourite places for burgers are still this chain and Big Texx in surrey. I think everything needed to say about this chain had been mentioned by everyone already and if you haven't try this chain's burgers and their fresh cut fries yet then time to take them for a taste run. I remember one of their first locations used to do be able to add a fried egg to the burger??
