GMoney Burger And Hella Big Poutine

I do like the food here, and sometimes you just need a good burger, which Vera's doesn't disappoint. The food is all made fresh, with raw not frozen beef thrown on the grill for a tasty carnivore experience. Gotta go with the G-Money as my fave burger here, and the service is generally good. So the restaurant has been on The Drive for years and could benefit from a deep clean company or Reno as the place is beginning to show its age. Now, I'll still go here to eat, but somehow they could get a bit better at keeping it clean. Just felt like there was a film of grease in some places.

I've eaten at other Vera's locations a couple of times, but for some reason this location tasted better. Like, A LOT better. I just ordered a cheeseburger with mustard and relish (the way I like it) and onion rings. It was all delicious. I'm hungry just writing this review. A quick delicious burger meal and I was happy.

Burgers were alright. Unprepared staff... she was chewing food while taking our orders and we waited for 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Yam fries were pretty good though. Hence, 2 stars!

They put a burger we took a bite out of back on the grill and reheated it then gave it back to us... TO EAT!

Italian day, we decided to eat at veras because we didn't wanna be wait in line for some over priced greek plate. Line up was great moved at a reasonable pace. We sit down waiting for the burgers that we specified that we didn't want sauce and tomato on mine and no cheese on my mothers. We get our burgers. Mine has a tomato and sauce and my cheese i wanted while my mom has no tomato and no cheese with the usual toppings we try switching but it made no difference so we sent our burgers back, then when we get them again i wanted just a little ketchup on it so i open the burger up and i see they used the same patty that they gave us the first time. I know this because my we cut our burger in half to make sure we're not eating a raw burger (its happened before) by this point we're both disappointed and kinda grossed out.. the burger we bit into went back onto the grill that everyone else is getting their food on top of that the bun was chewy and distasteful. We ate it anyways because we were trying to save our appetite for Italian day but line ups and the heat wasn't really for us. Run down of what happened, wrong order mix up- sent it back- got our same burger that WE BIT WITH OUR MOUTHS that was re heated and put back onto different buns- buns were chewy most likely reject buns- then the guy who checked up on us said that they re heated them and just put it on new buns... because... haha thats what he thought we wanted.. usually restaurants would get us completely new burgers and be on with our lifes Not satisfied with the service and how they handled the reorder

The unfortunate downside for getting a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Butter Beef - beefy, garlicky, herby, tangy, sweet, it's got a little bit of everything. Very tender Trieu Chau Fried Rice - this dish is fantastic. One of the better fried rice dishes I have had. It has the wok hay and I would have been perfectly happy just to eat this as a meal Phnom Penh Chicken Wings - the first bite I had, I was not impressed. I dipped it in the lemon juice with pepper and it had some crisp, but was really lacking in flavor. Then we found a small pile of fried garlic near the bottom of the plate. That's where all the salt and flavor was. We put that onto the wings and they were quite good. Wish that was just set to the side at the beginning. Green Papaya Salad - this thing is packed with flavor. I liked it quite a bit, but I thought the beef jerky was an oddball ingredient Filet Beef Luc Lac - thinly sliced beef that is tender and covered in a silky sauce. It was quite salty so it went well with our rice. No major complaints about any of the food and I thought they had some pretty unique takes on dishes. My family scores: Brendan - 4.0 Charlotte - 4.0 Shanying - 4.0 Winston - 4.5

For a small party we only could really order the trifecta: chicken wings, butter beef and bo luc lac. Loved the chicken wings and butter beef. They're as good as everyone says they are and I can understand why they're popular dishes to order. The Bo luc lac was just ok for me. I've had better. Worth trying at least once. Don't think I'd wait 1-2 hours to eat here though.

This is such a nondescript shop. I have walked past it, parked right outside it when going to other…read moreshops and never even noticed this place. I only learnt of this place when googling for roast meat and this popped up. The store is divided into two sections. One for the cooked roast meat where the menu is at the back of wall. Written in both Chinese and English, they are quite hard to read though. Bring your glasses or better yet, take a picture and zoom in on the photo like what I did. The other part is where you can buy fresh uncooked meat. The other side is lined with refrigerated items. Besides buying the roast meat, you can also have it with rice with your choice of meat. I bought a pound (min order) of roast pork and half a Hong Kong style roast duck (pipa duck I believe). I will say communication can be quite tough as the staff seemed more comfortable speaking in Cantonese which I do not speak. So it has to be a basic ordering in English without any questions or requests. The roast pork has super crispy skin which is really good but it also has such a thick layer of fats underneath that I had to remove it. You could probably save those fatty bits and fry them later to make lardon and add to your home cooked noodles or something. I like the pipa duck. Tender and tasty meat. Tip/Life hack: I googled and found a way to reheat the leftovers so they do not dry out -- cover the meat with foil and heat in oven at 400c for 20-30 mins. For the roast pork, I only covered the meat part and let the skin peeked out so the skin got even crispier.
