Chanced upon this burger place walking along Mt Pleasant. It's a small and clean place. There's a big screen TV playing sports. All the burger options seem good. I posted the choices here. I ordered just the regular Vera 6 oz burger. Its good sized. Cooked as you order. The veggies are fresh and crisp. The bread smelled nice and tasted good unlike the mass produced buns you get at a traditional fastfood burger joint. The size is perfect unlike one of those oversized meat patties for their buns! Service is good. They even brought the burger to my table! Staff is nice! I would like to try the other burgers on the menu! Plenty of street parking! read more

I thought my Bacon Cheeseburger was solid. The meat was beefy and well seasoned, the bacon was crisp but not hard and the bun was pillowy soft (I think it was a potato bun). The Lamb burger was good, juicy and on a fresh bun. The Vera sauce didn't mask the lamb flavour but complimented it. It's a burger joint with a few tables and a couple of tvs with sports playing. Vera's Burger Shack is a chain burger shop in Vancouver. I went to Main St and 14th Ave coz it's easy to find parking there. I'm not a big fan of burger coz I don't like fast food at all. My mom and I ordered 2 burgers and onion rings for lunch. Cajun burger - freshly made patty was so juicy and delish burger, but the mayonnaise a bit more than hot sauce and mustard. Lamb burger with fries - it's great and perfectly grilled. Onion rings - both of us rarely eat deep fried food so it totally satisfied our stomach. Whenever I'm craving for burger, Vera's would be my priority. read more

We have known about Vera's for quite some time, but this was our first visit -- and during the COVID restriction season, no less. But it was worth the effort. We ordered: -Buffalo chicken burger (a real chicken breast [not ground chicken], excellently fried and both crisp and juicy; not 'hot' to our palates, but well-seasoned) - Stinger (burger was well-cooked; the jalapeno bottle caps were extremely mild and a bit disappointing; overall, a pleasant burger experience, but could have been much more). - Fries (unremarkable but competent) - Drink (bottomless, but I only had one cup) Price was very reasonable -- just a bit over $30 for two at dinner. We discovered after ordering and while waiting for our food that we had many more options than we had known. We'll have to go back and remedy that on a future visit! Sadly, there are no photos as we were hungry and devoured the meal shortly after it arrived at the table. Im a burger guy and this place is one of my favorite...aside from its near where i live and i can just walk i go for burger and beer...beer is always nice.... Small place with 2 huge TV its a burger house and a sports bar aswell,clean can house around 15 persons,they have a wash room.decors are typical american pub and burger place. Wifi is by shaw open,unfortunately it doesnt work on my phone...just keep on buffering forever...street parking metered and mostly are free..place accepts cards,cash and debits.... Quality of food is excellent theres everyday special for those who wants to save a few penny.....combo meals and bottomless pop...geehh....my blood sugar will surely shoot...beer or pop???hahahahha beer and pop..... I ordered three burgers The double patty G money butger was straight up raw in 1/4 of the patty ( middle ) That was $20 in the garbage. The single patty's were not raw. Both were really good! I went in to order a couple single burgers and I mentioned it to the owner He completely turned the issue on me saying that their burgers are pink and I should have called at the time and they'd have remade it It didn't make sense at the time to call them and get another one because I wad 30 min away... which I explained to the owner. I said that that wasn't posssible because of the situation but I'm telling you now He processed with my current order with basically a too bad for you shrug. Vera's on Main Street is our go to place for Burgers on a random night. Burgers are grilled upon order and ingredients are simple but good. Love their "Canucks" burger -- cheeseburger with bacon. Eating it is a greasy sloppy mess but oh so delicious and good! Their fries are cut potatoes that are fried to perfection -- hubby and I always wipe out our order of fries. Service is great too. Even if there are only two people doing all the work, they are very friendly and approachable especially the gentleman behind the counter. My buddy and I stopped in for burgers last Friday night. He ordered a loaded double with cheese Vera and I just a single loaded with cheese Vera. Worst customer service I ever experienced in my life. We place an order for delivery through Uber eats and a minute later they cancel our order. We called to see why order was canceled and the guy simply says because they were busy and he didn't have time to read the instructions We requested for the food, which by the way we order one burger with no sauce. What I like about Vera's is its ingredients, starting from the bun, down to the patty, and everything in between. They're just better quality, fresher, healthier, and so on. I had the lamb 6 oz burger, and it didn't disappoint. Served in a clean looking bun with seeds on top, the patty was indeed a good size. I added BBQ and hot sauce, along with cooked onions. To add some more taste, I requested some extra BBQ sauce. The half and half order of onion rings and sweet potato fries was very nice, albeit a bit pricey for its volume. But it was very tasty, and nicely crispy till the end. I don't go to Vera's often, but each time it's been fine with no surprises. read more

I don't believe in putting less than 3 stars ever. We all have the possibility to improve. Them not learning from experiences will not lower their stars on yelp, it will reduce their costumers. Last night my partner and I ordered from Uber Eats and had such a great experience that we decided to repeat today! We were excited to buy some veggie burgers and sit back to watch a movie... well, we got the delivery with just one burger. Half of our order. No problem-- called the restaurant mentioning the situation (they realized their attention was somewhere else, which is fair) and they offered me a number to contact Uber Eats directly mentioning I would receive a full refund. They also offered me a cupon if I went to the restaurant directly. That's fair enough. I called Uber Eats, no one answered. Tried contacting them through the app, no answer (yet), and meanwhile the hamburger was getting cold and my partner was very hungry. I called the restaurant offering to drive to pick it up and asked them if they could add something to compensate for the time and situation. They mentioned that was not possible (by then I had been trying to find a solution for 30 min). I asked to speak with the manager, patiently since we all want a good experience and a light vibe. The manager responded exerting some frustration (not sure if something was happening in the shop), I tried listening, tried to cue in to explain my situation... got interrupted several times, asked them for both of us to exercise listening since we're both a team trying to find a solution... no luck. Got interrupted several times again until I decided to speak over them, explaining I didn't need an argument I just wanted a solution. to cut the story short, their solution was that the company appreciates our patronage, but is not responsible for any solution since the one at fault is Uber Eats. hmmm... sad to say, I will not be buying through them again. read more

Ok so recently we've kind of been on a burger food tour in our city because my other half just recently started eating beef again after 10 years of abstaining for religious reasons lol. In the last month we've tried fatburger, five guys, and now finally Vera's. This was my favourite out of the 3, the burger just tastes so fresh and the fillings are too. We got the G-money which has cheddar and mushrooms in it. I've noticed at the other two places the mushrooms were very soggy and almost overcooked which made the burger super drippy which I hate because who wants a complete oily mess all over their fingers. My burger was really good, we opted for the double patty and they even cut it in half for us (we shared) and even though it was a double patty I didnt struggle to keep it together (+10 pts in my books) Service was awesome at this location, its small but feels like home. I think they have a lot of regulars that stop in for a beer because the staff knew them by name when they walked in. Love that "community" vibe. We will definitely be back! read more

Vera's burger shack is normally very good. If am having a burger I usually order from Vera's. Unfortunately, this time around I ordered Uber Eats, and my food was ice cold. The onion rings tasted like cold fat and, my burger bun was mushy. I also ordered a ginger ale and, and, ended up with something called Boylan gingerale. It tasted like a ginger beer more than the regular Canada dry gingerale. to top it off the meal cost me $40 with tip for a burger meal and, a drink. It was Friday night, and I was hanging out with all my friends....er... ok... I was by myself. I stopped in to get some dinner, since you can't beat Vera's meat, and I have eaten a lot of meat.... why does this sound so rude? I don't beat, I mean eat... meat anymore, um... so I had a veggie burger with a side of fries. I can't say I'm a big burger fan, but I heard their veggie burger was pretty decent, and it was. Speaking of veggie burgers, I heard that if you get a veggie burger with bacon on it, its called a "hypocrite." Awesome. Anyways, I threw some cheese, hot peppers, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, mustard, and mayo on there, and it was pretty good. The fries were good too, even though I really prefer the skinny fries, you know like the McDix ones. The server working was super nice, and even checked in on me in typical sever fashion where my mouth was stuffed and he asked me how it was. Thumbs up dude! Obviously if my face is stuffed, its pretty darn good! I did find the meal to be a bit pricey at just over $12 for a burger, fries and bottled water, but hey its not the lips and ass with cardboard you're gonna get at McDix either, so paying a bit more isn't that bad. However I am kinda curious what they put in those veggie burgers to make them look like meat patties? I couldn't finish everything I ordered, but I'd definitely try dinner here again if I am in the mood for something quick and simple, and I would love it if they got in some veggie dogs as well *hint hint*. read more

The reason for the following poor review is not because I'm not a fan of burgers - I am. But had a difficult experience there because I placed a rather large order and one of them was a chicken burger, which came out uncooked. Yes, serving uncooked chicken is unsanitary and sometimes lethal. Luckily, it came out shortly after it went in. I'm hoping this is a fluke accident by this restaurant, since it was a crew of teenager (?), youngish boys working behind the counter. Not much to say. Best burger i've tried in my life. It is definetly worth going there. They also have vegetarian options. Great price considering the quality. If you are going to a Veras, you should definetly go on the main street location, best staff of them all, and more experienced cooks. Veras is a franchise and like any franchise, the quality of the experience is heavily governed by its owner. The Veras on Main is run by a young guy named Anthony - and he gets it. He greets you when you come in the door, thanks you when you leave, and makes awesome burgers. He doesn't cheat on the quality of the ingredients, and he treats the regulars really well - often greeting them by name. A business like his is what makes Mt. Pleasant a neighborhood. The battle of the Main Street burger joints divides my family. I prefer Vera's, my husband prefers Splitz. Why I like Vera's better- the topping combos on the menu, the daily specials, and the taste of the beef patty here. Overall, I just like the taste better at Vera's. The burgers are more savoury and satisfying to me. The BBQ burger with bacon & provolone is awesome. The fries are a shade better at Splitz, but not enough to be a deal breaker. The option to get half & half rings or fries or sweet potato fries puts Vera's back in the win column though. The deal breaker, unfortunately, is the lack of seating. Trying to get room for a family of 4 is difficult here. We could get take out, of course, but my husband's burger fanaticism is such that he hates eating burgers that have cooled down even a bit. For less picky burger eaters, it's an option though. read more

As we went inside, there were so many options for burgers on the wall. Amazing! I ordered their organic burger, while my friend had the chicken burger. Gave this place the benefit of a second chance and it was a mistake. The quality is not great and the prices are crazy high. Vera clearly values her grease. Food: - I've had a burger and now a chicken sandwich ("The Big Chick"). The burger patty is mixed with a bunch of pepper and spices. I hate this. This is what you do when your beef is poor. High quality beef tastes great in a burger- that is why everyone loves backyard bbq burgers. - The chicken sandwich was a mess. Way too many grilled onions, tomatoes, and lettuce adding way too much moisture- the whole thing fell apart. I liked the choice of provolone cheese, but this was a soggy mess (and I hate that). Major letdown. - The onion rings are forgettable. Not great, not terrible. Expensive. I've had better frozen onion rings. Customer service is ok, but the pricing, holy crap. The last time I was there I think I got a burger deal for like $13 + tax or such...and I didn't think it was worth it. This time just the sandwich and onion rings were $19.02 after tax. What?? $20 for a chicken sandwich and onion rings from a take out place?? I could eat at a nice sitdown place, be served, and get a drink for the same price. I won't be back again. Vera's latest additional to the Vancouver scene is a burger shack located at Main and 14th. A licensed outlet, Vera's sells succulent beef and vege burgers to calm even the most ravenous appetite. Also available on the menu are chicken wings, fries, and mini burgers. I enjoy their "works" burger that comes with your choice of salad and sauces. Take a look at the list of toppings on a board that reads "The Works" and tell the server what you want on your burger. Be sure to add any extras such as cheese. You can take your meal away with you or sit inside Vera's and enjoy watching a game on their big screen. There are a couple of high benches and a few low tables to choose from, but the place is small so not great for large groups. There is outside seating as well. I enjoy my Vera's burgers. Oh, and I especially like their fries. I haven't had anything other than a "works" burger and fries so I can't comment on their sides but if they're Vera's they're bound to be pretty good. read more

This birthday outing for my partner was headed downhill, super fast! Months ago, I had signed him up for the $10 Birthday coupon, and he was excited! But...the coupon arrived in the email box, and it would not print! No! Forwarded the email to my good neighbour - coupon printed, but not the vital information. Fortunately, my day job involves acute medical situations - so I am calm under pressure. I'll save the tiresome details - but! Judy from corporate office, you rock and you made this birthday extra special! We ordered the Stinger and the Baja with extra jalapenos and flavour shots. We went all out and had fries and onion rings, and fountain pop! The burgers were big and juicy and wonderfully messy. A good tasting bun, along with fresh 'n tasty lettuce and tomatoes, and we were happy as clams. We went after the lunch rush, so got the primo window seat against the north wall; watched the action on Main Street. Vera's is my partner's fave burger, and this location is walking distance from home - a good way to wear off the calories from this fabulous lunch! My guy had a happy birthday! read more
