1/4lb Cheeseburger Meal ($9.99) - small, good, but the $1.50 upgrade for the curly fries is worth it!
Jack W.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 2.5 stars: the jury is out, but with burgers tasting like this, there's a lot of upside possible here! === 2. FOOD Somebody wanted French fries (not sure why I listen to my two year-old all of the time!) and so quick stop here while waiting for pizza next door was in order. A 1/4lb Cheeseburger Meal ($9.99) comes with a burger, fries, and a drink. The burger was small-ish but good - the seemingly-handmade burger patty made the difference. The onions, ketchup and cheese were good complements, but I wonder if I was supposed to have received lettuce and tomato as well... Either way, the drink was self serve and the upgrade to curly fries for the meal ($1.50) was worth it - you get your choice of seasoning: original or spicy. === 3. SERVICE My fellow Yelpers were right in that we didn't get a reception upon entry. Looks over to us were made when we were at the counter, hopefully and presumably because they were busy. A young lady who helped us must have been a trainee and so it was a bit of a challenge getting our order in. Once it was in, the meal was prepared in a reasonable time. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's relatively new and modern, like the rest of the shopping complex. The space makes it easy to maneuver a wheelchair or baby stroller. Parking is best found underground in front of the Walmart entrance.

The bacon cheddar burger was decent, but the service was not.

First time at Fatburger. Parking is easy for this location, but the service pretty bad (borderline rude). I ordered a bacon and cheddar burger. It was fine. The patty was juicy, and the size was on the generous size. However, I would not come back here because I do not want to pay 10.59CAD plus tax for that ok burger and the bad service. ***************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful" so that I can improve my future reviews. The Richmond Fatburger is located in the big Walmart complex. I have visited locations in the US as well as the Ladner location (which gets props for excellent customer service and experience). This location is good but not great. Service and employee disposition can certainly be improved. In defence of some Yelpers I have to agree the value to satisfaction ratio is a little off but to compare it to a fast food location also isn't fair. Burgers and fries are made a la minute (fancy for made to order lol) and the food did come out fresh, hot and delicious. This is not a place you go to to get a quick burger fix but rather a place to go if you're feeling like a step up in quality and a place to actually enjoy the food (and not necessarily just to get some food in you). Overall it's a decent burger place in Richmond which has few choices in this catagory UPDATE: service has taken a severe nose dive. Came today around 5pm (April 1, 2020) and the staff didn't not even acknowledge my presence. Yes they were fairly busy as there was only 2 of them but to make me stand there without even looking in my direction for over 5min is NOT acceptable even during these very strange times. It's not like they didn't know i was there, they just completely ignored me (and the others waiting). I decided to leave and never come back. Thumbs way down. Star rating down from 3 to 2 too bad

Original fat burger, a side of fries and mocha Java milkshake. Meh.
Nancy L.

Overall experience : meh. Ordered a fat burger, side of fries and mocha Java milkshake. While I sat waiting for my food, I checked out the various marketing pieces around the restaurant. My impression was that I was about to get a big fat and juicy burger. I couldn't wait. When my food came, I was surprised at how small the burger was in reality. It wasn't juicy at all like they marketed. The beef patty was better than your average burger fast food chain but the overall taste was fast food grade. In fact, it reminded me of McDonald's big extra except with a better patty. The fries were quite bad. They were too hard. I think they needed a bit more frying time. The milkshake was mediocre as well. Seriously, with this kind of taste, I rather go to McDonald's.

Fat-burger is definitely my favourite veggie burger spot. They have such a delicious veggie burger, and the newly added beyond meat patty makes it even better! I am always happy with my regular meal, I usually always get my veggie burger lettuce wrap, and with fries & every time it is always good! I also like how they know have options for choosing to make your meal a "small size" vs the medium, or large which can be quite big This particular restaurant the staff are usually under staffed for how busy they generally are - but they manage.

You ever have one of those days where you're just craving a burger and then feel super guilty after but also super satisfied-- I can't be the only one right? Anyone have a particular favorite burger spot they go to? It's been a while since I've been to Fat Burger, not sure if they've always had it but I got their curly fries for the first time and it was super good! Their 4 seasoning flavors you can choose from too! I got a classic bacon and cheese burger with added on sautéed mushrooms I love adding mushrooms to burgers cause it give it an extra juicy flavor to it!

Hawaiian burger with meal deal fries n gravy no lettuce or tomatoe:(
Lauren L.

I think it was a sign when I first came here and they had JUST closed up early because of the snow. The place was half full and literally they just locked it up as I grabbed the door handle. I drove through the snow storm just to try the place. So sad. :( That was then. And this is now. Came for a quick lunch and was feeling like having meat. Not too much, so I ordered the 1/4 lb burger all dressed with meal deal. The burger didn't have tomatoes or lettuce or relish. I ordered the all dressed version too. Also didn't get my drink and got fries instead of my substitution for onion rings. Ordered up a hotdog with chili and it was alright but only half as good as the Orange Julius chili dog but almost twice the price. The hotdog was very salty. On the plus side the burger as plain as it could be was ok in flavour. Had a look at other peoples burgers and they looked ok. Will have to try some other items. Not all locations are equal. Bang for the buck? Go next door and you'll be just as satisfied for less. ****updated on last visit. Came for dinner. Tried some of the bigger specialty burgers hoping we could get some real lettuce and tomatoes like they always show in their pictures. The more expensive specialty burgers just looked too plain and nothing special. The buns were cold which doesn't help the burger any. You get the feeling they don't know what hamburger lovers want in their burgers. The buns should always be toasted or placed in the grill to be warmed up. It also changes the characteristics of the bun. Fries and gravy were average. I guess they're still figuring out what makes a good burger besides just following the franchise handbook. If they want to keep the customers the food has to look, feel and taste as good as the pictures they show them in. I really hope the franchise just isn't taking people's money without proper support. Hopefully they'll get the newness kinks worked out. So for now, I still can't give them a better review. Sorry guys. One day, you'll be the five star location against the other burger competition nearby and against the other Fatburgers out there.

Just ordered fat burger from skip the dishes. Food was good. However, a little dryness I experienced from my burger and fries. The poutine and wings were definitely my favourite!

California Chicken Burger and Cajun curly fries
Heather Kibbles B.

I went to Fatburger in Richmond and ordered the California Burger which comes with applewood smoked bacon, cheese and guacamole- I paid $1 more to swap out the beef for grilled chicken breast. It was absolutely delicious. The girl taking orders at the counter was really friendly. The only slight downside is the buns the burgers come on. They always fall apart half way through. The burger was really yummy though. I will be back for sure

Rock House Burgers & Fries

Rock House Burgers & Fries

Came here after a concert & was not disappointed!…read more PS I just started eating red meat about 2 months ago. What drew me was the potato onion bun. What kept me as a now repeat customer is self-serve ketchup, mustard etc, and the burger comes with a very sad 1/8 slice of pickle. But it's dill pickle so a little grace. Give bigger pickles!!! For me, I abhor any "house sauce" on burgers bc it's either 1000 island or chipotle mayo. Nope! I want my burger classic w ketchup, mustard, pickle. Bonus if I get lettuce & tomato. Well, they give you baby butter lettuce & tomato as well as "Rock sauce" (nope) and raw onion (nope). The burger was really thick: I'm guessing 1/3lb. It was made to order & took a LOOOONG time bc my friend ordered bacon on her burger (bacon takes a long time to crisp up on a flattop). But kudos on making everything to order! They give you a "side of fries" which was too much for me to eat, but equivalent to a fast food small. The bonus is skin on fries!!! Plus the condiment tower has ketchup, mustard, Asian hot sauce (NOTE: we need western hot sauce: I recommend Tapatio), malt vinegar, regular vinegar, Wing's plum sauce (IYKYK), and soy sauce. I didn't snap a pic as I was starving, but know it was delicious & filling. Delicious bc I cut up my pickle & put it in the burger...I don't know why so many burger places don't understand the savoury/tangy contrast of beef & dill pickles & why it's necessary (along with mustard to give savoury & tang, but then the sweetness of ketchup. It's simple & classic!) ...but I'm SOOO happy they had mustard packets!!! I went through 7 on my burger & fries (no ketchup on fries, only mustard!). I'm giving 5/5 bc burger was made-to-order (tho they should have asked how well you liked it cooked). There are a few missteps, but I think the quality was there. Yes, I had to custom it using the condiment tower, but that does not take away from trying this place! Come for the burger, stay for the gaming! LOL

Do people in 2024 wish for the nostalgia of the 1950s?…read more Do today's TikTok bunch long for the 1950s? Or perhaps better yet, should I be asking - are people today craving burgers from 74 years ago? After all Johnny Rockets, came to town for a few years then suddenly up & left. I have fallen in love with Smash Burgers over the recent few years due to the high quality offerings of some really prime burger joints throughout Metro Vancouver. See my pix & review & look for Burger Crush, Mozza Burger, Blaze Gourmet Burgers, etcetera. Upon walking into 50s Burger, I was wowed by the decor & art. However, there was no music playing from the old juke box inside the restaurant. How can you not have the 50's hits of Buddy Holly, The Drifters, The Everly Brothers, Brenda Lee, Fats Domino & even Elvis playing in the background? Service was friendly & welcoming. The burgers, fries & shakes however, need some serious attention & work! To be honest if I compare the offerings here to other burger joints, it would be a bad matchup. The burger lacked that certain umph you'd expect after each bite. The fries did not excite me. Compared against the thin cut fries at Burger Crush & there's no competition The shakes we had were just ok - nothing special. Again for comparison sakes - try the Choc Shake at Crush Burger. I hope things turn around here sooner than later. Throughout Metro Vancouver, businesses & espacially restaurants are having a hard go at it. You must bring your A+ game into this business if you are to survive. I would seriously encourage those running 50s Burgers, to check out the competition!

Would not recommend. Ordered a regular burger and Caesar salad. Burger was a 5/10. The burger to…read morebun ratio was off. The Caesar salad would be a 1/10. The lettuce they served was browning and looked sus. I hope I don't get food poisoning.
