They did not give us napkins for our tea so we needed to go back and asked for them (They should give customers the napkins for the hot tea because it was dangerous to carry it without a sleeve). So the reason why I came here was that I realized my phone or McD app had some pretty good deals that were about to expire. With any purchases get a medium fries for free. On top to make the deal even better, its free pop day. I mean why would I not take advantage of these offers. So came here and ordered an ice cream cone and also two apple pies. I got the medium fries and a large drink for free. The fries were freshly made. The people here are friendly. On top, this McD is very clean. Free parking is located outside. I like this McD. Oh yes, a fast food write up! What better thing to write up than the golden arches, this location has stood the test of time, and changed many times over due to renovation. Gone now are the kid cartoony characters that used to line the hallways (when's the last time you saw Ronald McDonald when you were in one of their joints?). I came here with one of their coupon books (damn you cheap food, in need of, hungry, new item promotion!). So I was here, I pulled into their half decent lot, that is also their drive thru spot. The entrance is Hazelbridge Way, and there ain't much spots here, and the place is usually packed for a McD's. I knew about the renovation, I think it was last year, but I haven't been in this place in a long time, so I didn't know what to expect. I was actually pleasantly surprised at what they did on the inside. Gone are the colorful days of kids playing, ugly plastic booths, and that old fast food joint, this place has a communal table (wtf? this is the first I have seen at any of their locations) with a tv at the end. The windows seem bigger in here, there is a special table here with two nice big leather seats. The place feels spacious and bright, a very 'today' look. When you get to the ordering spot, the menu's are pretty big, and the area to order from each till is wide. Cause they don't have a bin area anymore, you will have to wait for your food on the side, so they can nuke it quick! 24 hours now, like all of them, this one is defintely nice to look at and sit around inside. Getting out maybe another thing depending on the day, and how jammed out the exit on Hazelbridge is. read more

This Mc donalds, is like the others. But for this Mcdonals I'll give 4 stars. Nothing different, maybe the only thing is the table service I guess. I've never tried but I saw how that's work. That's cool. The service is good, you can see the manager helping people all the time even if you are doing your self order at the machines. I like to go there because it is not so busy and you can have your seat and the place is always clean. And if you notice something wrong on your order, they fixed right away. They are nice people. The food is the same, the difference I had lucky, the meal is always fresh. Some of McDonald's on downtown is not the same. For breakfast I like to order decaf coffee and some cookies and for lunch, I love Big Mac. My advise for you is, try to use your app for order and then you can see that you have some discounts, my last one is Bigmac for $1, not including meal. And sometimes you have some offers. Coming from the United States, this McDonalds was an eye-opener. This place is open 24 hours and they have a huge parking lot outside (1 hour max). Be warned that if you park your car here and leave the premise, your car will be towed. Inside, they have many tables for eating in and automatic checkout stations in addition to human cashiers. This is the first freakin time that I was really looking in what they were charging me at the drive thru screen!! They charged me an extra 0.40 for the mayo... when we reached the payment window I was able to confirm with the staff that they really do charge 40cents for the mayo. To test this logic of extra charging regular patrons...I asked for extra packets of mayo upon recieving our orders at the claim window and the staff politely gave me 4 (yes four) packets of mayo for free! Haven't stepped into McD for years so I was a bit lost what's on the menu nowadays. I mainly came here for the $1 iced coffee someone recommended and saw that the smoothies and frappes are for 2 bucks. I got that and a Vanilla Chai. Then I noticed the flashing menu had two rhubarb pies for $1.39. Wow, ok. I went and got that as well. My entire meal was less than $5. Super stoked! Anyhows what I didn't know was that when you order, the receipt is placed on the counter side next to the cashier and you aren't suppose to take it away until you got your order. I just bagged it and walked to the other cashier to order my pie since she was free. Haha..so my drinks got delayed. The frappe tasted like ice cream, which I obviously liked. It's a bit smaller than I expected but hey, less calories and don't need to splurge more than necessary (eg. at starbucks). The iced coffee wasn't anything spectacular and it was indeed just 'iced' not cold or anything. I'll try ask for a cup of ice on the side with regular coffee next time. They ran out of strawberry pies (?) and only had apple pies left. Not sure why she said strawberry. Did I order strawberry rhubarb pie? Anyways, apple is fine. I like apple pies. Tasted good but I remembered back in the days, it was actually crispy. Hmm.. change of recipe? Service was super quick and they were nicer than I remembered. Whenever you can't decide on what to eat, I recommend you have McDonald's. People say the french fries of the other fast food places are better, I don't agree with them at all. I recognize quality when I see it, and there's none in McDonald's french fries. It's greasy and not always crisp, but somehow I prefer it over any other high quality french fries you can find out there. Did McDonald's add some secret ingredient to make their under par fried potatoes addicting? I'm pretty sure no one wants to look into the nutrition facts of a McDonald's value menu item, or think about how much workout you need after the meal. But who cares. It's a great pleasure, guilty, yes, but great. I would still choose McDonald's over any other fast food chain. Just encountered the worst service from the lady at this drive thru tonight. As I took over the soft drink she passed me, the cap bursted off and the drink spilled all over my hand and up into my sleeve. I asked for napkins to cleanup and she gave me an annoyed look as if the drink spilled was my fault. As she passed me the replacement drink, she begins to lecture in her annoyed tone on where to hold the cup correctly...WOW. But guess what? The cap on the replacement drink was just the same...loose and about to come off. So clearly she had no idea on how to secure the cap onto the cup tightly and correctly. Food is typical McDonald's food. There's parking at back of restaurant but usually full during peak hours. And if it's peak on weekend there is always a lineup to order food. However, there are a few self serve terminals to order and pay. Plenty of tables. There is no napkins on the condiment counter...Need to ask for napkins. read more

Constantly get my order wrong at the drive thru. Inside the restaurant they're ok I had only gone in a couple times but at the drive thru it was brutal, even though the order on the screen was accurate. I get the wrong drinks, missing hash browns, sausage mc muffins instead of bacon etc.. i'm only writing this because i usually come here for late night munchies... and most of the time its only alright. my major gripe is that there is a severe lack of communication between the guy on the mic and the people working in the back. an often reoccurring situation: i ask for ketchup and sweet & sour sauce with my meal... sometimes i even ask them if there is sauce in the bag... they reply yup and when i double check after exiting the line up, it's either lacking one or both... really annoying... and i'm definitely not gonna go back in line and ask them for sauce... and they should really do something about the signage for the entrance/exits... people are turning left on the exits, or entering from the exit... its really annoying (especially when 90% of richmondites can't drive) food quality is meh... it's fast food quality food. read more

I think it is amazing what mcdonalds has been able to do with it's teen age work force. Most meals are usually consistently average. The drive in is my bitch. I swear if you change one thing from the standard menu you have a 75 percent chance for mistakes. I ordered the mighty Cesar salad and a coffee. I wanted the glaze left off the chicken. Simple change but guess what I got. Chicken teriaki with a coke. Come on guys. Was it that tough of a change. This has happened to me a handful of times and I just wanted to say my peace.
