Sunday Happy Hour is a deal. $5 draft beer with a decent selection. The pear gorgonzola flatbread was super delicious. The buffalo fries had good flavor and kept their crispiness despite the hot sauce it was tossed in. At the bar and the bartender was very friendly and cheerful. Soon the relatively empty bar filled up. The restaurant is a newer space for them apparently they moved from the other side of the plaza. They have a lot of space and nice sized patio. When (hopefully not if) this plaza revitalizes they'll be in a great spot.

Came here after going to the Blackhawk museum which I highly recommend. It was really good and the service was amazing. The server Mike was very friendly and offered horse radish aioli with my french dip and that sauce was some of the best sauce I have ever had. Suprised by some of the reviews here we had a great experience.

Early May 2025 The location and service : Friendly staff, new location inside Blackhawk Plaza, location looks bigger, brighter cleaner and brand new :) The food: kids - pepperoni pizza kids portion, butter pasta, Adults: shrimp po-boy with onion rings - the shrimp could do with a little more Cajun seasoning and fried with more batter

Great ambiance outside overlooking the water and the Blackhawk Museum. The restaurant is tucked away in Blackhawk Plaza. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken, applewood bacon, avocado, and blue cheese, with a delicious dressing. The salad came with pita triangles and the salad was huge; I was gonna safe for later but it was too good. Our server was attentive and friendly.

First time at their new location for Saturday night live Country music. The place was packed and mostly by reservation but they were able to seat us outside on the patio. Staff was friendly, food was tasty, and the band was great!

Fat Maddie's Blackhawk is a nice step up from the little Fat Maddie's near Danville Costco. They had a special menu along with breakfast. We are off the special menu and had a an avocado toast and blackened salmon tacos. Service was pleasant friendly and healthful. Fat Maddie's is adjacent to the pond. It was too cold for outside but the sunlight was adding a nice indoor ambiance. We recommend you give them a try.

Food is pretty average. The only reason I go here is because it's close to where my mother-in-law lives and she likes it.

We started with the Crispy Cauliflower, coated with tempura batter and served with lemon aioli; Roasted Brussels Sprouts, topped with chili flakes & Parmesan and served in a cast iron skillet; and the Hummus, topped with Pepitas and served with thin, crispy parm'd pizza bread. The Chopped Kale Salad came with apple, radish, carrot, cotija, and Pepitas, all tossed in a tangy pomegranate vinaigrette; and the Chickpea Salad also had a base of kale topped with chickpeas, roasted sweet potato/carrot, and charred halloumi, and dressed with herbed pesto. The highlight of the menu was their creative pizzas, which you could order either on a thin, crispy Neapolitan crust, or on a thick, soft, square-shaped Detroit-style base with crispy baked cheese edges. The Fun Guy came with porcini cream, mushroom, onion, goat cheese, and pecorino; and the Hail Mary came with beer braised chicken, caramelized onion, cotija, garlic, and Calabrian chili oil, which gave the pizza a flavorful spicy kick. Overall, my favorite items were the Hummus with aromatic pizza bread; and the tantalizingly spicy Detroit-style Hail Mary, but everything was tasty and came at a good value and with quick service too!

My biggest issue was definitely the food and the pricing. We ordered two beers, a pretzel with cheese, a Detroit-style pizza, and a Caesar salad, and our total came out to $70 pre-tip. They charged an additional $3 for beer cheese with the pretzel, and the Caesar salad alone was $15, which I thought was pretty ridiculous. The Detroit-style pizza was decent, but nothing special. The sauce on top honestly tasted like something straight out of a jar. Unfortunately, based on the food and the prices, I'd be hesitant to recommend this place or come back. Maybe I'd stop by for a beer, but definitely not for the food. The service was great, but the food just didn't justify the price.

Five Stars Well Earned…read more I returned to Revel for my favorite batched cocktail, the Out of Bounds (OOB) an aromatic glass of goodness! that is bourbon based. My last visit was a little off when it came to service, so I wanted to give Revel another go. Downtown Danville was bustling with activity thanks to a three day Gilmore Girls event. I had tried making a reservation, but there were none available. We decided to take our chances and see if we could snag a spot at the bar or outside. Upon arrival, the hostess was welcoming and explained the wait situation. There were communal tables available, but we decided to pass on those. After waiting about 10 minutes, the hostess sought me out and mentioned there might be an outdoor table near a heater if I wanted to put my name in. Absolutely! Within five minutes, we were seated at a very comfortable outdoor table. Although the air was chilly, the heaters made all the difference. Our server, Sydney whom I had never encountered before, was extremely personable, organized, efficient, and attentive. She also offered some great suggestions. What really stood out was that, after we ordered, she asked how we preferred to space out our appetizers and entrées. This was a first for me at Revel, and I appreciated the thoughtfulness and attention to our dining experience. The outdoor seating area was surprisingly comfortable despite the chill in the air. Our drinks arrived in a very reasonable amount of time, followed by our appetizers, all served at the appropriate temperature. When our entrées arrived, they were equally well timed and temperature appropriate. I ordered the pasta, which was extremely flavorful and filling. My dining companion ordered the chicken sliders, and I have to say, these are the best chicken sliders I have ever tasted! They are also a staple on the Happy Hour menu, making them worth seeking out on your next visit. I noticed a member of management making the rounds from table to table, checking in with diners. I also overheard the neighboring table expressing how pleased they were with their server, who happened to be ours as well. It was great to see that the excellent service we received was not an isolated experience. This evening's experience at Revel was outstanding five stars! Sometimes a restaurant or an employee simply has an off day. While that doesn't make a lapse in service any less frustrating for the customer, it is worth remembering that these things happen. What matters is how a restaurant responds and whether it demonstrates a genuine commitment to its customers. Revel is an established go-to destination in downtown Danville, and this visit reminded me why I continue to return. After my previous review, Tina, the Food and Beverage Manager, reached out to me personally. That gesture demonstrated a willingness to listen, address concerns, and make things right. If you read my other reviews, you'll notice I often say that mishaps happen. It's how they are addressed that matters and ultimately demonstrates a restaurant's commitment or lack thereof to its customers. Revel showed me that commitment, both through management's follow-up and the outstanding experience we had this time around. From the warm welcome and attentive service to the delicious food and, of course, my beloved OOB, this was a return worth writing about. I'll definitely be back!

Ambience: Relaxed and comfortable, with light background music, football playing on TV, and cozy booth seating. Will definitely be back!

Love that there's another East Bay Tiki Bar option!…read more The good: food was fresh, came out super fast, and was tasty. The poke bowl was a bit bland, but not bad. The Mahi Mahi tacos were delicious. Surprised to see Hula Pie offered and it was great! Service was excellent, but it was a quiet time. The less good: I was happy to see a true '44 Mai Tai on the drink menu. But the drink was watery, not particularly limey, and I couldn't taste any rum nor orgeat. The Painkiller was good, but not great. The even-less good: the decor is much more Margaritaville than Tiki. It has a few nice accents, but is a far cry from an immersive bar like Tiki Tom's. (I'm also not used to a Tiki Bar flooded with natural light.) The soundtrack was just Top 40 pop with zero exotica. Overall: it's a good island restaurant that's Tiki-adjacent.

My friends and I hang out here all the time, and in my opinion, it's a much better experience than Bridges if you're looking for a restaurant on a golf course.
