Sunday Happy Hour is a deal. $5 draft beer with a decent selection. The pear gorgonzola flatbread was super delicious. The buffalo fries had good flavor and kept their crispiness despite the hot sauce it was tossed in. At the bar and the bartender was very friendly and cheerful. Soon the relatively empty bar filled up. The restaurant is a newer space for them apparently they moved from the other side of the plaza. They have a lot of space and nice sized patio. When (hopefully not if) this plaza revitalizes they'll be in a great spot.

Came here after going to the Blackhawk museum which I highly recommend. It was really good and the service was amazing. The server Mike was very friendly and offered horse radish aioli with my french dip and that sauce was some of the best sauce I have ever had. Suprised by some of the reviews here we had a great experience.

Early May 2025 The location and service : Friendly staff, new location inside Blackhawk Plaza, location looks bigger, brighter cleaner and brand new :) The food: kids - pepperoni pizza kids portion, butter pasta, Adults: shrimp po-boy with onion rings - the shrimp could do with a little more Cajun seasoning and fried with more batter

Great ambiance outside overlooking the water and the Blackhawk Museum. The restaurant is tucked away in Blackhawk Plaza. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken, applewood bacon, avocado, and blue cheese, with a delicious dressing. The salad came with pita triangles and the salad was huge; I was gonna safe for later but it was too good. Our server was attentive and friendly.

First time at their new location for Saturday night live Country music. The place was packed and mostly by reservation but they were able to seat us outside on the patio. Staff was friendly, food was tasty, and the band was great!

Fat Maddie's Blackhawk is a nice step up from the little Fat Maddie's near Danville Costco. They had a special menu along with breakfast. We are off the special menu and had a an avocado toast and blackened salmon tacos. Service was pleasant friendly and healthful. Fat Maddie's is adjacent to the pond. It was too cold for outside but the sunlight was adding a nice indoor ambiance. We recommend you give them a try.

Five Stars Well Earned…read more I returned to Revel for my favorite batched cocktail, the Out of Bounds (OOB) an aromatic glass of goodness! that is bourbon based. My last visit was a little off when it came to service, so I wanted to give Revel another go. Downtown Danville was bustling with activity thanks to a three day Gilmore Girls event. I had tried making a reservation, but there were none available. We decided to take our chances and see if we could snag a spot at the bar or outside. Upon arrival, the hostess was welcoming and explained the wait situation. There were communal tables available, but we decided to pass on those. After waiting about 10 minutes, the hostess sought me out and mentioned there might be an outdoor table near a heater if I wanted to put my name in. Absolutely! Within five minutes, we were seated at a very comfortable outdoor table. Although the air was chilly, the heaters made all the difference. Our server, Sydney whom I had never encountered before, was extremely personable, organized, efficient, and attentive. She also offered some great suggestions. What really stood out was that, after we ordered, she asked how we preferred to space out our appetizers and entrées. This was a first for me at Revel, and I appreciated the thoughtfulness and attention to our dining experience. The outdoor seating area was surprisingly comfortable despite the chill in the air. Our drinks arrived in a very reasonable amount of time, followed by our appetizers, all served at the appropriate temperature. When our entrées arrived, they were equally well timed and temperature appropriate. I ordered the pasta, which was extremely flavorful and filling. My dining companion ordered the chicken sliders, and I have to say, these are the best chicken sliders I have ever tasted! They are also a staple on the Happy Hour menu, making them worth seeking out on your next visit. I noticed a member of management making the rounds from table to table, checking in with diners. I also overheard the neighboring table expressing how pleased they were with their server, who happened to be ours as well. It was great to see that the excellent service we received was not an isolated experience. This evening's experience at Revel was outstanding five stars! Sometimes a restaurant or an employee simply has an off day. While that doesn't make a lapse in service any less frustrating for the customer, it is worth remembering that these things happen. What matters is how a restaurant responds and whether it demonstrates a genuine commitment to its customers. Revel is an established go-to destination in downtown Danville, and this visit reminded me why I continue to return. After my previous review, Tina, the Food and Beverage Manager, reached out to me personally. That gesture demonstrated a willingness to listen, address concerns, and make things right. If you read my other reviews, you'll notice I often say that mishaps happen. It's how they are addressed that matters and ultimately demonstrates a restaurant's commitment or lack thereof to its customers. Revel showed me that commitment, both through management's follow-up and the outstanding experience we had this time around. From the warm welcome and attentive service to the delicious food and, of course, my beloved OOB, this was a return worth writing about. I'll definitely be back!

The Humble Sea Taste Gud Festbier was served nice and cold, just the way we like it. Loved the sparkling water option, too! Service: Excellent service! Our server, Sydney, checked on our table multiple times and made sure we were well taken care of even brought us carbonated water after remembering we preferred it over flat. Ambience: Relaxed and comfortable, with light background music, football playing on TV, and cozy booth seating. Will definitely be back!

We got the Seafood special, steak frites, kid's pizza, and kid's burger. Special: Awesome. Fish with roasted brussels, garlic mash, and a lemon caper sauce. I don't normally like capers, but this one hit really well. Steak Frites: Also great. Wife got this and she mentioned how much she loved the fries. Burger: Cooked perfectly to how I asked (Medium). My daughter ate it and loved it. You did have to add cheese which was a separate charge, but whatever, that's normal. Pizza: Such a disappointment. It's pizza, how can you mess this up? It's CHEESE pizza... They topped it with a lot of cheese and good amount of sauce which makes any kid happy. The problem here is that maybe they didn't have the oven hot enough or something else, but it was under done. The dough was EXTREMELY floppy (in part due to the large amounts of cheese) but the worst part is that it was extremely pale. When my son picked it up, everything fell off. When the server came by and asked how everything was, I mentioned the pizza. This is VERY out of character for me. I think I've only sent back food once or twice in my life. This one was just... a big miss. My son REALLY wanted pizza so instead of swapping out for tenders, we did the same. As we waited, the waiter said "The chef agreed it was a bit underdone so we're making you a new one". I can tell this was a "good customer service" lie because the second one came out exactly the same. If you ever cooked pizza at home, you know that the bottom should have some leapord spots for toastiness or done-ness. Both pizzas had neither. I've uploaded pictures of both pizzas. Honestly everything else was amazing, but messing up cheese pizza due to undercooked crust was too much. I'll come back but likely dissuade my kid from ordering pizza again.

The Linguine & Clams is delicious, with just the right amount of sauce, it keeps the clam flavor nice and intense while still giving me plenty of sauce to dip my cannelloni in. Everything was flavorful and well-balanced. Service: Our server was great and friendly. However, the older gentleman who appeared to be the manager didn't smile or greet us, which made the overall welcome feel a little cold. I also got the impression that the staff was more attentive and friendly toward their regular or assigned guests. I wish the overall service felt a little warmer and more welcoming. It would definitely make us feel more comfortable coming back as regulars. Ambiance: The restaurant is well maintained for an older establishment and has a comfortable, classic feel. The food is very good, and we enjoyed our meal. I just wish the overall atmosphere felt a little more welcoming, we'd love to feel like valued guests and become regulars.

Love that there's another East Bay Tiki Bar option!…read more The good: food was fresh, came out super fast, and was tasty. The poke bowl was a bit bland, but not bad. The Mahi Mahi tacos were delicious. Surprised to see Hula Pie offered and it was great! Service was excellent, but it was a quiet time. The less good: I was happy to see a true '44 Mai Tai on the drink menu. But the drink was watery, not particularly limey, and I couldn't taste any rum nor orgeat. The Painkiller was good, but not great. The even-less good: the decor is much more Margaritaville than Tiki. It has a few nice accents, but is a far cry from an immersive bar like Tiki Tom's. (I'm also not used to a Tiki Bar flooded with natural light.) The soundtrack was just Top 40 pop with zero exotica. Overall: it's a good island restaurant that's Tiki-adjacent.
