I'm reviewing Farmer Boys again even though I just ate a burger from a competitor. Why? Well, because the competitors soggy hamburger and chemical strawberry shake helped me realize there's no choice if you are craving a GOOD hamburger, fries and strawberry shake but Farmer Boys! Farmer Boys does not make a bunch of burgers ahead, they make it FOR YOU, YOUR ORDER COOKED FOR YOU! And their Always Crispy fries? They are not overcooked fries to get them that way. I have no idea what they do, I only know they are THE BEST! The burger I just had from a competitor (CJ) had been premade. I asked for extra pickles, onions and paid extra for more lettuce. It was clear they opened the hamburger made earlier and popped those things in. The fries were thin so extra crispy does not equal frying into potato chip crisp. I've had Farmer Boys strawberry shake several times and WOW! They use REAL STRAWBERRIES! REAL ONES! YUMMY! So, no way will I ever get my hamburger, wonderful Always Crispy Fries and that fresh, real strawberry shake from any place else! My husband and I decided to have a late breakfast here. We ordered the 3 egg breakfast that came with bacon, hash browns and toast. We both wanted our eggs basted. Our breakfast arrived and my husband and I both looked at each other in disbelief...it looked disgusting! Everything was thrown on top of the hash browns. The eggs were brown around the edges and runny. The bacon was so limp that when you picked up a piece it folded over. Hash browns didn't look appetizing at all. It has been over 5 years since I have been to a Farmer Boys as I missed their Farmer Burger as I used to get it in California. The prices have gone up however as the I order the burger drink and zucchini for 21 dollars. Then the fries cost 4 dollars. I remember this meal was 14 dollars so prices have gone up. Drive thru cashier was unfriendly, unprofessional, and lacked customer service. When I went to eat my chopped chicken cobb salad, the chicken was not the usual nice grilled chicken chunks. Rarely come to this location because we have one right around the corner from us, but happened to be in the area at lunch time. First off, your employee at the drive thru intercom was extremely rude and abrupt with her tone and her continuous interruptions as we tried to order. The up-charging is completely ridiculous, it ended up costing $47 for TWO meals! My husband was charged an extra $1.59 for a few burnt onion rings and $2.49 for upgrading to a shake which brought his meal to over $23! My BLT was so bland, no flavor at all, milkshakes were liquid and the only good thing between both our orders were the fresh, crisp fries. I visited on January 27, 2026 (Order #104) at 7:41am on 41300 Kalmia St., Murrieta, CA, 92562 and asked about the $7.99 platter. My initial plan was to break it up over two days because of my health condition, but when they said it was dine-in only, I politely asked if they had a kids meal instead. Michelle and someone in the back laughed at all my questions in a condescending way that made it seem like I was being cheap for asking about smaller/cheaper options. There were no cars behind me and I wasn't holding up anyone. When I asked about syrup at pickup, Michelle said, "They're in there mhm, thank you," in a rude tone. It didn't feel like simple bad service, it felt mean and judgmental. I eat at Farmer Boys often and usually enjoy it, but this location made me feel embarrassed and looked down on. No customer should be humiliated for asking about price or portion size, especially for health reasons. 3+ rating. We haven't been here in quite awhile. Prices have gone up, just like everywhere but we had a sandwich and a bowl of chili and it was at a comparable price. I went in for a tuna salad or sandwich but they don't have them anymore. That was disappointing, but I had a new California BLT with smashed avocado that was quite good. Hubby had the chili and he can't handle spicy well but this was just right for him, no burning mouth afterward. They also gave us a senior discount without us asking, which was very nice. So I had gotten food I went through the drive-through it was when I got home that I realized that all the food was not there so later on that day when my husband got home, I gave him the receipt and had him go to the store and let them know that his food was not in there with the receipt and they refused to make his food they said because it was more than two hours. We made a pit stop from little road trip from oc and found local taco shops closed so we came here for breakfast burrito cravings and were impressed! They were giant and well loaded and good flavor. Tonight should be a disgrace for the Farmer Boy's restaurant in Murrieta off of Kalmia Road. My husband and I go to this Farmer Boys about 1-2 times a month when shopping at the Lowe's in the same area. We like the burgers , fries and a few other things(we normally don't eat at any fast food place but we make an exception for this particular restaurant. Tonight was one of the worst experiences my husband and I have had at any restaurant including the crummy places). We walked into the restaurant at 10 minutes before 10pm. The server gave a a big hello and smiled and said Welcome!" Yes we knew that the place was closing at 10pm and yes we certainly would have left or taken the food to go, but that wasn't the conversation. We would have done a takeout or just left if given those choices and were told the place was if we were told the restaurant is closed at 9:50pm. . But that wasn't the case. My husband went up to the counter and put in his order, paid for it with a credit card, he asked the same server/cashier to break a $20.00 bill so he could leave a tip and the cashier said she'd have to ask the manager, the manager refused. I bring this up because we left leaving just a $2.00 tip because no one would break the $20.00 bill, even after the horrible customer service we were going to leave a tip because that's who we are, treat everyone with respect. The respect wasn't returned to us, either all customers are treated with respect or no one is treated with respect, as a business you shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose who you respect. When my husband tried to use the soft drink machine it was turned off. He asked the cashier/server why the machine wasn't working and was told "we are closing in 10 minutes, can you take your food to go?" You see, we were greeted with a big hello and welcome! and then the server took our order and of course our money. Be Open at 9:50pm or be closed at 9:50pm.. you don't get to do both. The server did unlock the machine but after taking our money, greeting us, taking our order, we were then told we should take our order to order to go. I have a difficult time eating due to cancer treatments ( more than I can count) many and multiple complications from all the treatments, side effects, including awful GI issues, no, I can't eat in a car. My husband was locked out of your bathroom while we were still eating. Poor guy just wanted to wash his hands after loading plants from Lowe's, he didn't want to eat with dirty hands just like any other human being. But he was locked out of your bathroom. I would hope that you're aware of a law in California called "Ally's Law". She short version is you as a restaurant owner must allow paying customers use of your bathroom facilities when the paying customer is still dining at your restaurant. It's a law you and your employees should take very seriously. I couldn't use your bathroom either and by the 3rd time around of the server( the cheerful Hello and Welcome server) saying Sorry, we are now closed, you need to go. Yeah, we got that part. My husband after being asked to leave even though your restaurant was still open, being greeted in a big hello manner, taking our order and our money is now coming over with sorry but...gotta go, that's a very unpleasant experience. We told her we'd rush through our meal, we said please just give us ten minutes to eat, sorry, gotta go, now we're closed. I can't eat fast. It's a horrible feeling when you're someone suffering from multiple GI issues due to cancer and all the awful positions that are pumped into your body, multiple infections, the stress from this experience left me feeling sick and I tossed most of my food that was awful, simply awful, dry and greasy, served on a very stale burger bun, burned meat, you'd almost have to try to make food this bad, this inedible and the experience this unpleasant. I threw away most of my food, my husband did too.We couldn't even get extra napkins until the 3rd try and then ended up with a measly few. If you're going to serve your customers such greasy food at least allow them the dignity of being able to wash their hands or give them a roll of paper towels to attempt to clean all that grease off of, well, everything. It truly was a nasty and horrible and mostly inedible meal. And after all of the pressure to leave, the horrible food I took just a few bites from I became terribly ill on the way home. I've eaten at your restaurant many times before and never, ever was served such awful "food". Between that and little miss SORRY.. we're closed AND open, who just couldn't leave us without reminding us we need to be gone, having the bathroom locked while we were still eating, serving us some of the worst things called food, turning off the soft drink machine before we had a chance to use it but did have the chance to pay for the drinks. Went here recently to claim my birthday reward through my Farmer Boys app. Even without a reward, I think ordering a BBQ Chicken Ranch salad is reasonable in price with as big as the salad is! You can order this delicious salad with either grilled or fried chicken tenders. I chose the fried chicken tenders that came out perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The salad is topped with fresh bacon bits, hardboiled egg, crispy onion straws, tomato and cheese. On the side they give you BBQ sauce and ranch dressing. All these flavors mesh well in this salad. Other than the salad, I ordered 4 piece zucchini sticks. This is also a very generous serving. Basically the whole darn zucchini cut in quarters length wise.Its breaded and fried with a size of ranch. It was perfectly crisp and cooked til the zucchini was tender. Definitely a favorite with our family! Everyone I came in contact with that works there was incredibly nice .The restaurant was well taken care of and clean while the service was fast when the food was brought to my table. Went through drive through tonight and within our order was 2 pastrami sandwiches. The pastrami was rotten! I took a bite and it tasted so bad, and it had a foul smell. I could only take one bite and it made me nauseous, it seemed to me that they put extra mustard to try to mask the spoiled meat; my poor daughter ate about half of her sandwich and threw it up. I called the restaurant to let them know that the pastrami was spoiled and although the girl who answered was nice, she just said "Ok I'll let my manager know". I spent a lot of money to be given spoiled food. Our bill in total was over $106.00. I should have at least been offered to be reimbursed for the pastrami sandwiches. We will never go back to Farmer Boys and considering that it's likely that they are not ensuring that the food that they are serving is fresh and not spoiled, I don't recommend going to the Murrieta location. read more

On 7 January we decided to grab a quick bite and went through the drive thru to place our order for the Farmer Boys pastrami sandwiches. The drive thru employee told us that they are out of the pastrami and would no longer be offering that as a meal option. After reviewing their website, I see that option still listed and wonder if we were misdirected about them no longer carrying this, for us, popular option. Perhaps true...? I come here pretty often, usually in the middle of the week as I've noticed Monday & Tuesday its not the usual lady I speak to at the front, but Im mostly there in the morning rarely ever during the afternoon and always get the Cali BLT with egg it's my go-to. I don't want to assume the worst, but he always seems to have something to complain about, and it's usually right in front of customers, which feels really unprofessional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Meanwhile, the girls in the front keep smiling, take orders, and make everyone feel welcome no matter what. I really want to shout out the morning team specifically the one ones who always work on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, the staff is always so friendly and full of good energy. We recently discovered this place and enjoyed our first visits. That led us to download the app with promises of rewards. The app is horrible, neither my husband nor myself can get ito actually give you the rewards. You end up in a circuit of verify email and log in. Code has to be emailed to get reward. I get all the promo emails but that's all. At this location, the manager refused to honor reward. Stated that they were not affiliated with app and I would have to call customer service, delete my app and rewards and start over. She even came to my table later saying she had called the franchise owner and they refused to offer any discount or help. Had they offered something--any type of help-I would be writing a good review instead of leaving upset. read more

Stopped by here last weekend with my man while driving out to visit Anza-Borrego. It had been so long since I visit Farmer Boys & since it was near the gas station where we pumped gas & we had been asking ourselves what to have for lunch, Farmers Boys made the top pick. The Natural Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger for me & The Farmers Burger for my man were our choices for burgers on this trip, he got fries & I got the fried zucchini. I was amazed at how huge the zucchini was, not at all what I was expecting, but a very welcome surprise. Our burgers were beyond satisfying as were our fries & zucchini's. My natural burger was definitely a very delicious burger, & my man was very fond of his Farmer's Burger as well. The fries were fresh, as were the zucchini. I can't relate to anyone else's experience here because mine was fantastic! The bathroom was so clean & I LOVED the tile they had, definitely felt like I was peeing in a prestigious restroom with this beautiful tile lol had me playing Drake in my head, "Oooohhh you fancy huh" lol The staff was definitely nice & fast paced, wish I remembered the gentleman that took our order, he was an older African-American gentleman. I am a fan of Farmer Boy's salads and breakfast burritos. When we moved to Temecula, I was excited that there was one in town. However, the service and food quality has been awful the past couple of times I have gone. I was passing through Murrieta on my way home recently, and decided to pull of the freeway to try this location. I'm happy I did! Instead of a 20+ minute wait for my burrito, the drive-thru line went fast and I had my burrito in minutes. I'll try this location next time I want a salad. I think for $10 them for a burger and bacon probably closer to like seven or eight dollars but I've been more appropriate or at least throwing drinking fries or drinking a side salad or some thing would be cool.
