The restaurant is spacious with a cozy atmosphere. I loved the walls adorned with open books and the floral wallpaper. We came to celebrate our anniversary and made a reservation online. Our waitress was proactive and let us know they were out of a couple menu items right as she handed the menu. The drinks were great, and the flavors of the 'Fried Chicken & Curry' were on point. However, the chicken itself was very dry and hard, and the portions were quite small for the price. One disappointment: there was no acknowledgement or special gesture from the staff even though we noted the occasion in our reservation. This place has a classic vintage look and a lively atmosphere. It was quite busy when we arrived, and since we didn't have reservations, we ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender was very nice and attentive, even with the crowd. We ordered a burrito, a spicy chicken sandwich, a prickly pear drink, and a beer. The burrito was a bit on the dry side, and the salsa on top felt more like a decoration than something that added to the flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich had great seasoning, but unfortunately it was a little overcooked, making the chicken somewhat tough to bite into. As mentioned, the place was busy, so there was a bit of a wait for our food. It wasn't a huge issue, but it's something to keep in mind if you arrive very hungry. Drinks were just as good: $20 bottomless mimosas kept half our table happy, while I loved my spicy Bloody Mary. The Neon Cactus was another standout cocktail worth trying. Service was excellent thanks to our server, Lauren, who was welcoming, attentive, and made the meal even better. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough to justify one. The Thai salad with extra chicken was genuinely awful. The lettuce was wilted, the snap peas were dehydrated, and the entire salad tasted like it came straight out of a grocery store bag -- not a restaurant kitchen. It honestly felt like something you'd buy pre-packaged at Stater Bros. and dump on a plate. Service was mediocre at best. Our waitress couldn't keep our water glasses filled, and basic attention to the table was lacking. Fingerprints all over the front door should've been the first red flag. What really stings is the value. I paid about $70 for the meal and still left a $12 tip, despite the poor service and disappointing food. From this experience, I will not be returning, and I will absolutely be telling others to avoid this place. I'm on the fence on if I would return or not, while our waitress and her shadow were both equally nice and hospitable, we did not feel that welcoming vibe from the hostess, bartender or chefs. Everyone just seemed gloomy and not personable or approachable. The food was pricey, I didn't realize brunch was only served on the weekends and I came specifically for the avocado toast, that was my bad since I didn't look into it further and just assumed, but it was our first visit. The steak sandwich was ok, the meat was cooked perfectly, but the cut was tough and chewy, the sweet potato and truffle fries were perfect and the coffee was delicious. My last visit at Finch was just a couple years after they initially opened in 2017 - that visit was okay but not too memorable. We decided (now, 5 years later) to give it another try, we were unfortunately disappointed. On a Sunday, around 2pm we arrived to realize what I mentioned in my previous review - if arriving before 3pm on the weekend, the menu options are very, very limited. But that was just the beginning. The waitress seated us and after a while we ordered drinks and what we remembered from the previous visit as positive option, the brussel sprouts. Unfortunately, when our main meals arrived and we asked about our appetizer, our waitress said, "did you order an appetizer?" For the limited choices, my wife decided on one - when ordering, the waitress told us that they just ran out of that meal option. At around 2:30pm, we noticed that most of the patrons were consistently being served (and consuming) mimosas. When we asked about this, the waitress said she forgot to mention that to us and let us know that the "endless mimosas" was available - my wife went with that option. About 20 to 30 minutes later (having had just one out of "endless" mimosas, the waitress came by to tell us that the "endless" option ends at 3pm; we told her that key point should have been mentioned when we ordered. On my wife's ordered black 'n blue burger, she ordered a side of avocado. When brought to the table on a small plate, fortunately my wife turned the avocado over to realize that it had gone bad (brown and black throughout; basically, partially rotten). We returned it for a "good" one. My wife's black 'n blue burger and my loco moco meals were okay, but definitely not worth the amount paid. When we had arrived the place was pretty packed, but at around 3pm when the "endless mimosas" ended, it quickly cleared out - it is obvious that this option is the big draw to Finch. As we switched to dessert, the first option we attempted to order was also not available ("we ran out"). In summary, as stated in the Yelp headline for Finch - correct, this is a very "chic" place, particularly during endless mimosa time; young single gentlemen may want to try this place out during this time if wanting to explore another pickup place besides a club/bar. With the multiple disappointments, from food availability to food quality, to service, we had decided that this would not be a place we would likely ever return to - (in my opinion) in Finch's effort to be so trendy, they left out a few important things. read more

I would be back! The vibe here is super cute. The service was great and the food tasty too. I wish I could drink right now (pregnant!) because their drink section looked awesome! The only bummers we had were: 1. We asked for no olives in the short run fries and they had olives. Luckily they were big enough to where we just picked around them, but still. 2. Our entrees took awhile to come out. Enough to where we asked for them. However, they came out a literal minute after we asked. 3. The French dip isn't really a French dip. It's a short rib sandwich that you dip in jus. After the getting the short rib fries appetizer, that would have been good to know since you're essentially eating the same thing as a meal right after. The food is large portions so if you eat like a bird (light appetite) don't order a single dish for yourself unless you want a large take home. As far as the food goes, things definitely changed since my last visit there. I have gotten the chicken and waffles in the past and the chicken was deep-fried at that time and really good. So when I had my friend come from out of town I wanted to take her here. Today the chicken was bland and didn't have very much seasoning. The waffle had way too much gravy which made my waffle soggy. My friend got the omelette with the smashed potatoes that weren't seasoned either. The service was good I forgot to get our servers name she was super sweet and friendly. She was very tentative and answered any questions my friend had. The omelette says you can pick 3 ingredients and the server let us know we could add additional for an up charge. read more

Went here to celebrate two birthdays we had a good size party of eight. Had a reservation and glad we did. For the size of our party the service was very good. They have lots of specialty cocktails, and different beers to order. Several good appetizers. We very much enjoyed the short rib fries. Nice and spicy with cut jalapeños. We had a lot of different dishes ,Loco Moco, Caesar salad with salmon, Thai salad, Finch Omelette and chicken and waffles. We all enjoyed the food. The quality was good and it came hot so for larger party that was appreciated. Since we're celebrating two birthdays, they brought each person a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce. My husband and I attempted to dine here earlier today but ultimately left due to a complete lack of service. After waiting about five minutes, the hostess seated us outside. We then sat for approximately 15-20 minutes without anyone greeting us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging us. During that time, another table next to us was seated after we had already been waiting and was immediately greeted by a server. We watched plates and water be dropped off at their table while no one came to ours. Two different employees walked past us without making eye contact or checking in. As a former restaurant manager, I understand that things can get busy, so we waited patiently. However, it became frustrating when a table seated after us received prompt service while we continued to be ignored. We even attempted to get someone's attention, but no one acknowledged us. We eventually decided to leave and go elsewhere, where the service was much better. When we informed the hostess we were leaving because no one had ever greeted us, she appeared more focused on putting on her lipstick than addressing the issue. I wish she had ensured the server for our section knew they had a table outside. We're new to the area and we're really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, the lack of service was extremely disappointing. read more

I had the ribeye steak with a delicious cream sauce, roasted potatoes and green beans. They grilled the ribeye steak to perfection. The roasted potatoes were delicious and the green beans were flavorful. My husband had the grilled salmon. The salmon was flaky but not dry. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. The service is excellent. The server was great and we appreciated her hospitality, service and friendly attitude. The food came quickly and was hot. No complaints here.
