The worst nail salon I have ever been to! I was at Michael's when I saw this place and I said to myself I might as well get my nails done. I went in here two days before my wedding to get a manicure/pedicure and full set with gel polish. I showed a picture of how exactly I wanted my nails and it took about 4 hours for the nail tech (Kim) to do it. I'm not a person to complain. I'm not a nail person either. I barely get my nails done. When I complained that I didn't like it and looked nothing like the picture I showed her Kim was very rude about it and said I should've done this and that. When I mentioned I couldn't tell her anything because she was on the phone while working on my nails she got so mad. She was on the phone for 35 mins. He assumed I wanted squared out nails so she cut my acrylics so short that it ended up looking like I had stumpy fingers. She also cut my cuticle so deep and started spraying it with alcohol. I told her that when she did that it hurts me really bad she replied with "you're not a baby you're a big girl!" When I told her I didn't like my nails she tried to fix them with the biggest attitude. I was just done with it. I left and paid $100 for a simple full set and pedi. She didn't even do the mani which I asked for. After running my errands which was about an hour, I decided to go back because I couldn't get over how ugly my nails will look on my wedding day and I wanted her to re-do everything. When I told her that she needs to re-do my nails or take them off and give me my money back. She said there's nothing she can do about it since I left and paid already. I asked for the manager and she said she wasn't there but there's a person in charge. The whole staff in there just kept talking in Vietnamese and I knew it wasn't anything pleasant. I started crying my eyes out. At this point I thought no one was able to help me. Finally one of the nail staff came to me and said don't cry and she'll fix it. There was about 3 nail techs working on me at the same time. They all agreed that Kim did a horrible job. They ended up soaking me in acetone for 30 minutes and re-did the job. It still didn't look like how I wanted it but I just had no more time. I left with more cuts and dry fingers. I just fixed it at home. BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

If I could give a negative star rating I would. I'm so upset! I should have walked out. I went back to this salon because I wanted a cheap REGULAR mani/pedi. I called and was quoted a price of $28.00 I went in and TWICE while I was getting a REGULAR mani/pedi that I did not want any extra services and definitely NOT a spa pedicure. When they put the bag over my feet I even stopped them and said, "REGULAR PEDICURE." They assured this is how they do a regular pedicure. Bull sh*t. They charged me $40!! AND when I got really upset (because it was a total bait and switch) they wouldn't credit my card back to $28. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I just spoke to a friend and she knew of the place and just told me that they do it all the time and that's why she stopped going there. Buyer BEWARE. And what really bugs me? Too quick of a service usually pedi should be a little longer , kept trying to up sale me while I was trying to relax and me saying no all the time but kept asking.... She speed up thru the process and then kept asking to pay while I was waiting for my feet to dry a little because they're wet. One of my favorite places. They greet me when I come in and always courteous service. Rarely do I have to wait for a seat. I just had a pedicure and I love that the tools are hermetically sealed for each customer. (no bacteria here) My technician was very kind and the experience was very relaxing. I only get pedicures and waxing but she's gentle, detailed & doesn't rush. Makes conversation but also knows when to stay silent when I feel like closing my eyes and relaxing after we've caught up :-) Only the 4 stars because the place is not very modern or kept up to date. I decided to just stop in for a pedicure. The technician was very good. I got the spa pedicure rather than the regular, because it was $5 off (and I'm worth it!). Wonderful massage and perfect polish job. She did a fantastic job removing my callouses (this was my first pedi of the season, so she really had her work cut out for her!). I especially liked how she let me stay in the massage chair to dry (she positioned a small fan to help dry my nails), rather than moving me to a drying station, where there are usually hard, uncomfortable chairs. I relaxed in the massage chair while my polish dried. No one rushed me. It was a very comfy and relaxing experience. I will definitely go there again!! read more

I only come here when I'm not able to go to my usual spot for my eyebrows and nails. It's very close to my home and cheap. Big Mistake today. I've decided to no longer come to have my eyebrows done. Second time they've done a terrible job but this was much worse than the first. I thought I could give them another chance to redeem themselves but I was wrong. They over plucked and when I said that was enough she continued to reapply wax. They are misshaped and uneven. I am upset. A factor that played in this may have been the lack of understanding due to the language barrier and she may not have been trained properly. That needs to change. I ask the establishment to please put more effort in training each individual and better their customer service skills instead of rushing everything. read more

I went to Fantasy Nail & Spa for a gel manicure because of the inexpensive price, and I got what I paid for. Three days later, thumb nail was splitting and the polish on the other fingers was chipping. The first gel manicure that I ever had was from another salon and it lasted for four and a half weeks without a single chip. I figured that Fantasy Nails would fix my thumb nail at no charge since they obviously did a substandard job. However, they wanted $5. The manicurist said it was my fault that the nail had split. I should have told her that she should give me back my $5 tip, and that would cover the cost. I went back to Modo Nail Bar in Laurel, and that did the trick. My daughter and I got our nails done on a Sunday afternoon. I got my regular dip powder and she wanted a full set. The woman who did my daughter's nails was extremely rude as soon as she asked if she wanted regular or gel polish. I asked what the price difference was and she said $15 more for gel. My daughter is only 14 and we were doing this as a back to school treat, but I still didn't want to spend $40 on her nails, so I said regular polish is fine. I hear the lady whisper to my daughter, "gel is better, you want gel? It's not too expensive. " My daughter said "no, thanks." Then she asks my daughter how long she wants them and she looked at me, and I said, "not too long". The lady asked what shape and my daughter said coffin...the lady said $10 more for coffin. Since when?! Most other places charge $5 more. So she cuts my daughter's nails and they're still super Cardi B long and I said, "a little shorter, please." the nail tech says, "coffin can't be short - - it looks ugly." I said, "a LITTLE shorter". She gets an attitude and cuts a little off and says that doesn't make a difference, then starts speaking Vietnamese to the lady doing my nails. THEN she tells my daughter, "these your nails, you do what you like." I'm pretty irritated at this point. At the end, her nails looked like crap, the coffin shape wasn't even really coffin, more of a rounded rectangular shape, and the polish was sloppy and all over her cuticles. Oh, and then she asks my daughter if she wants her eyebrows done and when she said no, the lady said they look "messy" and she needs them cleaned up. My daughter politely declined, again. At one point I truly wondered if the woman was actually certified, because she didn't seem to have any idea what she was doing. One day after the manicure my gel was already chipping. I would actually give this a 2.5 star review. I've definitely had better. I don't like to be told that I need a brow wax 10 times. It's rude. Especially, when I just got my brows done the day before. On to the review of the mani/pedi. The price is ok. They always try to upsell you on the "spa" pedi. If you get it, it is nice. If not, they rush through your pedi/mani. I usually go here because I'm out of time to drive to my regular spot. In a pinch, it is ok. The have OPI/Essie, they massage your legs and feet (not for long), they don't talk to you, they do a good job on polish. Just overall, it's ok. It is clean to me, so I haven't been grossed out or anything, and if it was ever as dirty as what I read in other reviews, I would have walked out. I'm not trying to get a fungus with my pedi. If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. My family lives near by so on my way home I stopped in. Tracy did my pedicure. She was horrible and I do mean horrible. She barley touched the bottom of my feet after I refused the $10 dollar dry skin treatment. I have very smooth callous free feet, why would I pay for that? Well let me tell you it went down hill from there. My toenails are a clumpy mess it looks like my 2 yr old niece polished them. I had black specs on my big toe and polish left all around almost all of my toes. I asked her to correct her mistakes and she added another coat of clump polish and told me I could leave. I called back and asked to speak to the manager and of course they acted like they didn't understand what I was saying. How ironic, you spoke clearly when you told me the amount of my service. After getting a bit irate, I finally got someone on the phone who told me to come back tomorrow for them to change my polish. We shall see... UPDATE: I came back and the manager repolished my toes. If I could give negative stars I would. I'm new to getting my nails done. I had acrylics with dipping powder and gel polish done at Nails Allure (beautiful work-- go there instead of this cesspool) on Norbeck for the first time and came to this place for convenience to get them taken off. BIG MISTAKE. I should have known this would be a terrible experience from the first minute I was there. I was "greeted" by a woman at the front desk asking me what I wanted and when she asked for my hand to look at, she proceeded to FORCEFULLY PULL ME FROM MY FINGERS to "escort" me to the chair that she was going to torture me in. I should have seen that as a red flag but I'm also Asian, and figured it was just a cultural thing and was understanding. I had no idea what the procedure was to taking off nails, but from talking to an experienced girlfriend she said that her nails were always fine, and not too thinned out afterwards. So she began by cutting my nails shorter and then proceeded to use the electric file to thin out the fake nails-- so far so good. But after that, she took out a box of acrylic nails (to my confusion) and then used one of those nails to get underneath my fake nails and then quickly flipped them off to get them off! Laawdd it felt like my real nails were coming off each time, I was scared. But it was happening so fast so I thought it was ok. She was half done with my left hand when she called her co-worker to help with my right hand. She was nicer than the lady doing my left hand but seemed less experienced. This is where it gets ugly. She startd to have difficulty removing the nails on my right hand so eventually the lady working on my left hand took over. Something did not feel right with what they were doing but I was almost done so I kept going despite the pain. I wanted to leave, I wish I listened to my gut. My whole right hand was hurting but when they got to my index finger and finally popped off that difficult nail... My nail was ripped and bleeding. They even tried to file it after, ignoring that my nail was basically hanging off already. I was getting livid as I looked to all my other nails. They were all uncomfortabley short where they were all over cut and very thinned out. I pointed out to them in dissatisfaction that they broke my nail and it's bleeding but they said that was "normal" and it would be like that whenever I get my nails taken off. Pure bullshit. I told them my friends never had experiences like this at their places and they said nothing. I was fuming all while she was trying to make small talk with me about how I looked Vietnamese. After I washed my hands the lady had the audacity to start pushing me on my lower back to walk towards the cash register. I sharply told her "please don't touch me". I asked (I should have demanded but I'm so much younger than them and I felt so overwhelmed by the situation) if I could just pay $5 because they made me bleed but the lady said no. I paid the $10 on the verge of angry tears, snatched my change and left. They took advantage of the fact that I looked young and was Asian. They would have never treated an older 40 y/o black or white woman like this. I could see that they knew they were wrong (all the other idle employees were looking at me concerned but didn't do anything) but proceeded to make me pay full price with no sympathy or acknowledgement towards my dissatisfaction. Midway I also noticed their tools did not seem new or properly sanitized. When I got home and got a closer look at my nails I could see the tips if most of my nails were hanging/peeling so I had to forcefully cut them even shorter. All of my nails also have dents/cuts towards the base of my nails and cuticle from them trying to use cuticle cutters to remove my "stubborn" nails. My right hand nails still hurt and at this point I just hope don't get an infection. I will never go back and I hope they lose their license and business. Please take your business elsewhere as well, there are people and quality 10000000x better than this nightmare of a "fantasy". I want to give them 0 stars... I used to go here years ago for mani/pedi and waxing. Manicure barely lasts five days, they ALWAYS cut my cuticles, even when I told them to just push them back, they would still pull out the cuticle cutters and I would have to remind them again, but I always walked out of there bleeding. The final straw was when I got my eyebrows waxed. I said "Just clean it up" and they were barely left on. I stopped going. Today I was in a rush for a bikini wax so I thought since it had been a couple years, to give it a try (ONLY for waxing, never again for nails). I waited three minutes before anyone even approached me at the front. Once they did, I asked for prices, they spent two minutes looking for a brochure. I told them I wanted a bikini wax and was told "one minute". Five minutes went by and someone said "Manicure? Pedicure?" I said "No, just a bikini wax" she then said "Eyebrow? Lip? Massage?" I said "No, just a bikini wax" she frowned, walked away, started cleaning up, ate a banana and totally ignored me. I walked out after waiting another three minutes. Call me silly - but I've been to this location three different times in hopes that it would improve each time (location is very convenient). However, much to my dismay, it hasn't. 1st visit - I came in for a pedicure and a shellac (friends had gotten it and I wanted to try it out). I have never had the shellac before so I thought if I asked the technician (Becky) to do this she'd understand. She instead gave me acrylic nails. Three months later, my nails are still weak as heck. 2nd visit - I came in for a pedicure and was pleasantly surprised - but I still walked out with rough feet (even after paying the additional fee for a callous removal treatment). 3rd, and final, visit - I went for a pedi and asked to have my nails clipped shorter - I had to ask again to have them twice to have them clipped shorter. After voicing my experience from the previous time about walking out with rough feet - I expected a better treatment. However, the technician used the pumice stone maybe a total of 5 swipes across each foot removing nothing! Definitely not worth the location convenience. read more

Worst pedicure ever!!!!! The technician was rude. I asked her to file my nails, not clip, but she clipped anyway. Some are uneven. Some were not filed so they are rough. The polish is streaky. She didn't massage my feet at all although I saw others in the salon getting a massage. Within five minutes of finishing my pedicure, she was out the door. I am going to have to remove the polish and do it myself. I went with a friend whose manicure is also awful. She previously had a darker color on which wasn't removed all the way. Charged $10 to remove gel nails and didn't even use the professional gel nail remover. They scraped the gel off then covered my hands in acetone and a cotton ball wrapped in foil. The sponge they used to clean my feet during the pedicure had rust marks on it and made me sick. Everything was low budget and lacking service. Wax was ok but they don't have aloe and put oil all over mg eyebrows when they were done. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE/ NASTY RUDE ATTITUDE! On Sunday, May 27th, I went here to get a basic mani/pedi. I was the only customer at the time so a technician serviced me right away. I picked out yellow polish for my nails and toes. The technician polished my so fast, my nails looked streaked and clumpy. When I asked her if she could fix them and clean around the cuticles she told me that she already did and my nails looked fine. I told her that they do not look fine. She ignored me and started working on my toes. I was very disappointed so I called my sister to voice my displeasure. When my technician heard me say I didn't like my nails, she put my foot down and TOLD ME TO LEAVE! She GRABBED my hands and AGGRESSIVELY took my nail polish off! I was shocked! I asked for the manager but she ignored me and walked away. I asked another tech and she blew me off as well. I told them that I would be coming back up there to speak to a manager and that I will report them. DON'T GO TO FANTASY NAIL AND SPA. They are rude and very disrespectful. They are only interested in making money -- they could care less about how your nails look. read more

I visited this place for the first time today and I was very disappointed with their nail service and customers service. The service is not cheap so I was hoping for a neat result at least. I did a gel manicure and pedicure with spa massage for 75$. The spa massage was very quick and unprofessional and the gel manicure wasn't neat at all. The nail polish layers looked messy and uneven with some spots left white. I told the lady who was doing manicure about it,she said maybe it is the mat color you choose and she recommended a 3rd layer to improve it,although for me this was not a valid excuse. She did a 3rd layer,it looked a bit better. However, when I went out side in the sun walking towards my car,I noticed the nail polish still looking messy with some wrinkles and scratch lines on some nails. I felt its not fair to get this result with the amount I paid, so I came back to talk to a lady which was presented to me said as the manager. The lady was very neglecting and unconsidert for my claim, she checked my nails carelessly,then she continued talking with another customer as if I wasn't standing there. I don't like to write a bad review, but I felt that I need to do, so that other customers won't have my experience. My first time at this salon but not my first time having dipped nails. The salon was spacious and clean. The staff seemed friendly enough. I had called ahead and had asked if they provided dipped powder nails and was told anyone in the shop could do. The lady who worked on my nails seemed nice as well. A bit difficult to understand her English but, we worked it out. I have been using the dipped nails for several years so I know the routine. When a technician doesn't do things the right way, I can tell right away. So she started off ok, but quickly went in a different direction then what I was used to. When I asked her about it, she assured me it would be ok. Her product line (OPI) was new to me (for this process) as well. As she got into the process, I could see she was having problems with the brushes and the liquids inside the OPI bottles. She kept trying to make them work, but you could obviously see on my nails where the powder would cake up or there would be a streak or the powder didn't cover my nail. She was trying to do a good job, however - the products she was using (OPI) was old and the brushes were stuck together and just not usable. Several of my nails came out with bumps and empty places where the powder color did not cover. She tried several times to fix those places - but it just wasn't happening. They were looking worse. I finally asked the tech to please just finish up my nails and let me get out of there. The product was either old or had not been stored properly or just wasn't for commercial use. Ultimately I asked for the manager and explained what was going on. She offered to fix my nails if I wanted to stay for another hour or I could return tomorrow and she would do. I said no thank you for today, and I don't plan to return tomorrow. I felt sorry for the lady who was doing my nails cause I know she was trying.
