I am currently sitting in a message chair getting a pedicure by Ruth. This place was a pleasant surprise, as we had spent the holiday searching for local nail salons that were open. The store front is very unassuming, but as soon as we walked in we were greeted with big smiles and friendliness. The ladies working here even made some adjustments in their scheduling to fit us in. The salon is bright and clean (even the bathroom) and, again, the staff is incredibly friendly. The pedicure itself is rather standard and nothing incredible fancy, though Ruth checked in frequently to make sure it was to my liking. I am very happy so far with the service and can't wait until my manicure. For an enjoyable and pleasant experience, I recommend a trip to V Nail Salon! Update: my manicure was amazing. She had smudges all over. and the coating was bad. 70$ for everything but if you can't do a simple design then don't be a nail tech . The color was nice but not in the design i wanted. Please reconsider your staffing. And any nail tech should look at their work and really see if they did a good job. Nail tech should know her ability. even when i told her to fix it up , she didn't. I recently moved to Silver Spring several months ago and need to find a regular salon. V Nails is close and convenient and one of three salons I have tried. Yes I have had two gel manicures and a pedicure. The first visit was perfect and my nails lasted 3 weeks before chipping. Unfortunately this time the gel polish chipped off of one nail after two days and I had to return to have it fixed free of charge. Salon is not much to look at, but with the exception of one manicurist (Nancy) you can always get a good manicure, pedicure and waxing, usually same day and even walk-in. Quick service and nice employees. So, if you are not looking for a posh atmosphere, give it a shot! read more

Been coming to this place for six years; and it never disappoints!! The nail technicians are all very skillful and attentive to our needs. Almost all of them have been working here for years, I rarely see new face. And it can only tell one thing, that this is a good place to work. The owners, Miss V and Miss Lin, take care of their employee really well, and in return, they take care of the customers really well. My go to girl is Ruth, who is always doing a great job. Today Feb. 4th was my 4th visit to this V-Nails, for another mani/pedi. I really like this location and the owner V, has had this shop on Norbeck Rd. for about 20 yrs. She is very welcoming to all who come there. Although they do take "walk ins", since it was Sunday, I decided it may be best to call first. When I called it was an hour and 20 mins in advance from when I wanted to come in and successfully I was able to schedule an appointment with short notice and with the same nail tech, Vivian, that did my nails in all 4 previous visits there. Their massage chairs are big, comfortable and relaxing which is nice while while bathing your feet and having your pedi. Hygiene is paramount and their foot baths are always maintained and kept clean. My nail tech Vivian, was/is the youngest tech there and said she's worked there a few years now. She's a quiet, very polite, accommodating Vietnamese girl, who stays very focused while doing her work. Prices for their services are definitely reasonable and may be less expensive than other nail salons in this area. In each of my previous visits, I took a few mins and to speak with several customers. To my surprise and delight, I learned that each of them were loyal to this particular V Nails location and all had been coming there for 3-5 years, which to me says a lot. One lady told me she had come when "V" the owner, opened the nail salon 20 yrs ago and told me that although she had moved out of the area, she was still coming there and willing to travel a distance... because she was happy with the nail work she received enjoyed the family vibe, and had good customer relations with the owner. In fact, each lady I'd spoken with was and remains one of "V's" loyal customers. Again today, it was obvious to me, that "V" takes pride in her nail salon, cares, both about her customers and nail techs...I's say it's like one big family of techs there. To conclude, I noticed, "Happy Valentines!" Helium balloons hovering close to the ceiling in the back and so I asked, Vivian, my tech about them, she just smiled and said "V" bought them for all her nail techs. I'm happy to say that I've h found a good nail salon so close to home that I am completely satisfied with. I highly recommend this "V Nails" location to anyone who wants to find a good nail salon to call "home" and stop their searching. read more

I like this nail salon because the staff is efficient and the atmosphere is cozy. The services I've had include manicure and pedicure and gel nails. I've always left very happy. The last time I came in my cuticles were all torn up by another visit to a different salon where the nail tech tore them up.
