I have recently moved to the Silver Spring, MD area and am trying new nail salons. of the 4 that I have visited, Fantasy Nail and Spa is the worst. the technician used procedures for the powder dip manicure that I was not comfortable with. The polish was not painted on the whole nail, leaving the corners untouched. After 3 days, 8 of my 10 nails were chipped, and broken. I returned to the salon to ask for the powder dip to be soaked off. They were going to charge me $10.00, after I had already paid $50 for the manicure. They do not stand behind their work. read more

These are the ugliest nails I have ever done in my life. I was charged $110 for these acrylics and a pedicure not worth it at all I wanted to cry after I left from how bad my nails look. When doing my pedicure she cut me so many times I was bleeding for about 10 minutes. In the picture you can see my second nail looks completely different than the rest.. I'm truly disappointed I came here because the pictures when I looked up the salon were really nice but the employee told me that those nails are done by one specific employee a man and he's the only one that does good nails she said. DO NOT COME HERE! I had a terrible experience at this nail salon. I came in the salon around 5pm this past Friday evening and requested a lash appointment. Shortly I was seated and Kim started to do my eye lashes and I was already skeptical because she was placing the lashes on TOP instead of placing the lashes in between my lashes. After I got my eyelashes done I was very satisfied with the way they LOOKED It was just what I wanted as my first lash set short to long especially since I wear eye glasses it was great. Kim told me to not wet my lashes so I did just that but when I got home i noticed 2-3 lashes falling off from each side so I didn't think anything of it and I let it be. The next day Saturday another few lashes started to fall off then by Monday morning I didn't have any eye lashes on my eyes. Mind you I did not and have not wet my eye lashes. Tuesday morning I texted Kim and asked her if she could redo my lashes or if I could get a refund because I did pay for a full set of lashes and I didn't pay for them to last just a few days. The text messages are down below. Moving forward she told me to come in the salon to "take a look" so I came in today 11/16/23 and as soon as she saw me she switched up and told me that I would have to PAY and get 20% off my lashes and basically made excuses to not do them for free. Mind you, I am not getting them for free i am trying to just get the service that I PAID FOR. I'm so disgusted by the way I was treated and the way that they handled this situation I am never coming back here and I will make sure the people that I know that come to this salon no longer support people who steal money because that's basically what they did. CVS lashes have lasted me longer than this. My friend also got her lashes done the very next day because she thought my lashes looked so good and she has no lashes on her eyes. I paid $55 for my nails. 2 of them were crooked, on was thin and bent almost immediately then when I said something instead of them immediately fixing it they put the gel Polish on n cured it. Then when I initiated they fixed it they essentially ripped the mail off me to fix it. They got polish on my skin n didn't wipe it off. NEVER GO TO TINA! The worst customer service person! I have been many times at this place but today I got the worst impression ever! The lady not only has no clue of how to make nails neat and trim but she just mutilates and disfigures them. Thanks God I never had her to do my nails!! But somehow she decided to intervene today when my nail technician was doing her job and messed up everything. After I got terribly upset she started to offend me that I just don't understand anything about beauty and technique! Which I do because I used to work for many years in this field back in my country. I just moved recently to USA and encountered this problem: it is really difficult to find a good nail technician here. Honestly. The over all experience was too awesome! The lady kept asking me the same question over and over again about a service I didn't want. Also I feel like she sped through my pedicure. Usually pedicures take a while, half hour or so. To really relax. I was in and out with in 15 minutes maybe less. And she didn't file my nails no straight. They have jagged edges. I usually don't complain but today this was unacceptable. I should've read the reviews before I went. But I went on a whim after eating pho (Pho An) at that great place a few stores down. Another thing about tipping. I wanted to leave a tip just because she did work on them but there was no option on the receipt to and I didn't have cash. But honestly I left pretty disappointed. This was by far the worst experience at a nail salon. I came in for a manicure and pedicure on my day off and was dissatisfied with the lack of service and uncleanliness. I would've done a better job of painted my own nails and splashing water on my legs. For my manicure the technician placed my hands in a sandwich bag filled with water. That's right, not even a bowl a sandwich plastic bag. At one point I had to tell my technician how my pedicure was suppose to go. Highly disappointed. It kind of pains me to make this review. Although, I truly doubt this establishment reads or cares what it's clients have to say. I came here because after 8 months of quarantine, hand sanitizer and washing of hands, my nails looked like straw. Mama needed help. I have a history of coming here because it is so close to my home. I usually would get a full set acrylic but I have a new baby and don't want to deal with fake, long nails so gel I opted for instead. In the past, I'd give my experience a 3/5. Not bad, not great--got the job done. But now, pheww. I also got a pedicure. Pedicure was decent except for the paint job itself. It's bumpy, it's patchy, it has bubbles in it, some corners are missing top coating, my skin and cuticles have paint on them--I mean, it was just sloppy. I didn't see her use clean tools but I was on my phone so maybe she did. Doubt it though. We move onto my manicure. I asked for gel but was utterly unimpressed with their 10 color selection so I showed her a picture and she mentioned the powder gel. I was intrigued so she showed me colors. These colors were way better and a larger selection (like 50 dolors). Manicure again, was sloppy and fast. At one point, she pulled out her cuticle cutter that had SOMEONE ELSES SKIN IN IT. She just flicked the skin and proceeded to use it on me. Why didn't I stop her?!?! Help me, Jesus. Anyways, the worst part of this experience was again, the paint job. Inorder for the powder to adhere, she used a clear polish of sorts. She did that so sloppily and without care that the polish got onto my skin and cuticles causing the powder to stick there. After 3 layers, she used her electrical buffer to "smooth" the surface. Poop job she did. She cut my skin because she was trying to buff the polish that she sloppy did that got on my skin. I had to go home and use my own cuticle cutter to cut off the patches that were on my skin because it looked terrible. I was ashamed to show my husband who stayed home with my babies so I could have a day to myself lol My nails are uneven. The only good thing is that I enjoy the powder--it feels like it'll last longer than gel. She showed me that, so props to her. But yeah, 95 dollars for crappy workmanship. Jokes on me! read more

I went to get my nails done on a Wednesday with gel nail polish, an by Saturday the polish Wal already chipping. The manicurist did something very odd to me. Before she put the gel polish on she put the liquid part of the acrylic. She didn't put a clear coat of gel polish first. This was very strange to me, cause I've never seen that before. This place will never receive my money again. Worst service ever. But this particular staff has an attitude like their working off a slave debt or something! Went here last night, what a waste of $25. Unless you want to upgrade to one of the higher priced pedicures - expect to go back home and give your feet the attention they should have deserved. I think it's preposterous that unless I pay more, my feet should still be moderately rough and not soft. I could have washed my feet at home for free. As for the manicure, soaking my hand in a plastic sandwich bag is not my ideal of a manicure. The polish wasn't any better. I had to consistently tell the woman that she didn't cover the full nail with the polish. And as I type this, I've noticed that the polish is already lifting. The absolute worst pedicure experience in my life! -I couldn't even pick out the color without having the nail technician (didn't get her name) giving me her unwanted opinion. -I was pressured into getting my callous removed, which I turned down 3 or 4 times. I eventually caved because she kept on commenting how bad it was. ($10 extra) -She rushed through cutting my nails and cuticles for no apparent reason, the shop was empty! Result was unevenly cut nails. -My big toe got cut and bled for a good 5 minutes. First time getting cut that badly. She didn't even apologize. Commented on how bad my cuticles were because I haven't gotten a pedicure in a long time. -I was pressured one last time to get gel or French pedicure. I firmly declined this time. She did a very poor job painting my nails. Didn't put a fan to dry it before asking me to pay. Total:$30 + $5 tip (I really contemplated on leaving without tip considering how dissatisfied I was) I seriously feel robbed of an enjoyable relaxing pampering session AND my hard earned money. The worst nail salon I have ever been to! I was at Michael's when I saw this place and I said to myself I might as well get my nails done. I went in here two days before my wedding to get a manicure/pedicure and full set with gel polish. I showed a picture of how exactly I wanted my nails and it took about 4 hours for the nail tech (Kim) to do it. I'm not a person to complain. I'm not a nail person either. I barely get my nails done. When I complained that I didn't like it and looked nothing like the picture I showed her Kim was very rude about it and said I should've done this and that. When I mentioned I couldn't tell her anything because she was on the phone while working on my nails she got so mad. She was on the phone for 35 mins. He assumed I wanted squared out nails so she cut my acrylics so short that it ended up looking like I had stumpy fingers. She also cut my cuticle so deep and started spraying it with alcohol. I told her that when she did that it hurts me really bad she replied with "you're not a baby you're a big girl!" When I told her I didn't like my nails she tried to fix them with the biggest attitude. I was just done with it. I left and paid $100 for a simple full set and pedi. She didn't even do the mani which I asked for. After running my errands which was about an hour, I decided to go back because I couldn't get over how ugly my nails will look on my wedding day and I wanted her to re-do everything. When I told her that she needs to re-do my nails or take them off and give me my money back. She said there's nothing she can do about it since I left and paid already. I asked for the manager and she said she wasn't there but there's a person in charge. The whole staff in there just kept talking in Vietnamese and I knew it wasn't anything pleasant. I started crying my eyes out. At this point I thought no one was able to help me. Finally one of the nail staff came to me and said don't cry and she'll fix it. There was about 3 nail techs working on me at the same time. They all agreed that Kim did a horrible job. They ended up soaking me in acetone for 30 minutes and re-did the job. It still didn't look like how I wanted it but I just had no more time. I left with more cuts and dry fingers. I just fixed it at home. BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT GO HERE! read more
